The Seacrest Hotel is situated on Southsea's seafront, looking out over award-winning gardens to the Solent and the Isle of Wight.
Score from 355 reviews Very good
Superbly located in Portsmouth’s lively waterfront development, Gunwharf Quays, this hotel offers bright, modern rooms with buffet breakfasts. Stores, bars and restaurants are on the hotel doorstep.

Atmospheric building in an excellent location and more importantly the staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.
There was a pleasant view of the sea from our window. The bathroom was fine.
The room was far too cramped. The two single beds practically filled the room. You had to squeeze past the bottom of the twin beds. The fact that there was a TV on the wall at the bottom of the bed made the room even more difficult to move around. The place is too much like a rabbit warren.
Lovey position on sea front.
Room in desperate need of updating. Felt like I was sharing a bathroom with next room........I could hear all my neighbours ablutions...even his "sigh" as he sunk into the bath!!!! No shower in Bathroom. The TV was angled to face the ground and would not be budged. I may have been unlucky on this occasion but I have stayed in far better for less.
THE SEA VIEW AND THATS IT
for the money i expected more, the place needs revamp.torn wall paper worn carpets,
Parking was easy
Wifi never worked and the staff wasn't really worried about it. Mattresses was awful, bedroom really small and noisy.
Great location, quality hotel
Extra £5 charge for parking Extra £10 charge for breakfast
Good location, Good breakfast
Staff could have smiled more at front desk. Didn't feel welcome
Good location on the sea side. Cooperative staff with positive and friendly attitude. Good breakfast specialy with the hot omelette they cooked for us . The family room we had was one big room with queen bed connected with small bed room with single bed. Which was quiet comfort
With the sAme money you can get better hotel in the commercial road or gunwarf one strange thing hspened while I was smoking in the gRden terrace and having my drink with me from outside since I was just cAme from out. Then sudenly I found one old lady screaming at me that I must leave the terrace now since they will will have a party there then before I got the chance to talk she added and leave this drink and I will send some one to collect it Once again I tried to talk but no way to give me this chance adding and smoking is not allowed on the room. Which made me lough saying but I'm in the terrace not in the room. Then I asked her may I know first who you are and who give you the right talking to me like that? Then she became very angry asked me what's my room number and what's my name. Then I said sorry I can't give you any data since I don't know you. The last chock she gave me while she was leaving very angry. She said you must check out today. It was realy black comedy then one mint after the director of the hotel came and apologized what hAd happened and informed me thAt she is the opener of the hotel. I said so what if she is the owner and don't wNt any one to stay she can live there alone and she must know that I'm S a guest are the one spending money for her. Realy it was very bad experience and whoever wana go there must be carefull from mrs owner.
Staff were very helpful & friendly!
On arrival at the hotel the guest is given instructions to register with cloud and means a lot of bother trying to get a connection as the cloud signal strength is very poor!
First room given, small and wind noise through ill fitting windows, towels were in place on the window cills, a sign that rain entered. Director explained that there was no other room available. Later on insistence of daughter in law an acceptable room was found.
1, The hotel has such character from outside. 2, Stayed in 248 I loved having a balcony and French doors it made the stay more pleasant looking out to sea and watching the ships and ferry's. 3, The bed was comfortable which is my priority.. 4, Had a easy to control radiator so when it was chilly could heat easily. much better than those blow heaters found in some hotels. 4, Perfect dippy eggs at breakfast (soft boiled eggs) great selection of both cooked and continental food. 5. Big free car park... other hotels along there say parking and its a hand full of places. this car park is a good size so no hassle if getting there late
1, There isn't a hair dryer, the wall mounted one in the bathroom is only good to dry off short hair. My hair is long and required more power so left with semi wet hair. 2,Missed having a proper shower, there is a mixer tap shower which is hard to get the temperature right. 3, The food was ok but would have liked some comfort foods on the room service menu like spaghetti or chilli. 4,The halls and passages could be made to look warmer/welcoming and far more impressive than the hospital coloured walls it presently has. I found myself redesigning in my head as I walked upstairs. the hotel could be so much more because the building is beautiful. 5, Suggestion for us business people who have to rush in the morning (and early morning ferry catchers).. having take away coffee cups would be a big bonus. Day one I had a pastry which was lovely but a take away coffee as well for the car would have been useful. the next morning I heard another guest asking the same as she grabbed a pastry in a napkin, hope this is useful feedback because I bet a lot of people want them.
I like everything so I keep going back.
Nothing. A lovely old English place.
Price location parking
Friendly welcome from receptionist and same from two of the bar staff - young man was helpful & polite and gave useful information for where to go in town. Bulgarian girl was friendly & chatty as well. Breakfast was excellent.
Draft from balcony door in sea view room was bad. WIFI is rubbish and any hotel trying to attract business travellers needs fast internet connection nowadays. But the worst thing was the man who checked me out no 'good morning' or other acknowledgement. Had to wait several minutes until he had finished writing in a book before he even looked up. No 'was everything OK' or 'goodbye' NOTHING ! bit impolite...rude even having just been relieved of over £100. left me with a parting bad memory that would otherwise been OK.
Very helpful staff; quick to assist & respond to any difficulties. Pleasant rooms eg the bar, the restaurant, the foyer. Very good breakfasts & bar snacks.
Loved the location near the park and also the hovercraft terminal as we went on to visit the Isle of Wight
Lovely dining room and reception areas and lovely to sit in the garden and terrace with a drink. Great position for walking to seafront and Dockyard area
Bedrooms could have been more spacious comparing with the width of the corridors but bathroom excellent
the breakfast was excellent, plenty of choices and nice and hot
The bathroom was small. The hot water took a long time to come through but then we were on the third floor
Room fine with great view. Restaurant only used for breakfast & service & food was excellent.
Arrived early at about 12. Asked if we could leave our car before booking in to go site seeing. Told room number & that we have to pay for parking. Asked when this started & told July. Told her we stayed in middle of August & it was free. Was then told that it says so on the website & I would have seen it when I booked. No choice & paid £5. Got back to hotel at about 6 & booked in. Room number changed to surprise of new receptionist. Got to room & card keys did not work. Back to reception & told that the last receptionist had not changed the room number on our key cards. Now at home & checked website. It just says Ample Parking!. Went into terms & conditions and no mention. However it did say in condition 13 that VAT has been reduced from 01/12/08 from 17.5%to 15%!! - BUT no mention of any parking fee. (Kept right up to date!) I don't mind being told I'm wrong, but I didn't enjoy the welcome I got by the member of staff
They said it was convenient for most things. Parking easy. Rooms and staff pleasant and generally helpful.
Not enough information for first time visitors
Location Excellent breakfast
Dukes Bar, and dinner, parking. I would like to know of more offers at The Queens.....keep in touch.
old telly, lamp post outside room.
Staff excellent food very goid
Needs a makeovers
The general atmosphere was very relaxed - even though there were business events on. The views across to the Isle of White are stunning from the upper floors. Staff very friendly and helpful. The second room we had was excellent and roomy - we were moved after we complained that our 'sea view' room did not have a sea view because the double glazing had misted up internally. Breakfasts good value. It's also very convenient for buses into Portsmouth and the hovercraft to the IoW. Buses outside the door and hovercraft 5 minute walk across the Common. Plenty of character in the public spaces too.
The restaurant was good but we were disappointed that the menu stayed the same for the three days we were there. Even the 'catch of the day' never changed. That was not a real problem as it is just a short walk to the restaurants of Southsea.
