Cheap and cheerful
Walking distance to the station
Guest House was very convenient as it was close to St Andrew Bridge Club
I would have preferred thicker curtains that fitted the window better as my room was at the front near street lighting so my room was quite light all night
Easy access to train station and city centre.Price was reasonable for location.
After booking unable to request a change of room as there was no one available to deal with this untill after 11AM. Room looked onto the wall of an out building. Foul smell throughout room from bathroom area. Bathroom in serious need of upgrade.
good location nice breakfast.
no lock on bathroom door!
Proximity to where I needed to be
Wafer thin walls and noise all night. Bed super uncomfortable and if I had not have low on funds I would have left within the first hour of being there and found somewhere else.
Close to kings theatre
Very dirty! 1st room was filthy! Second not much better! Very dated, which wouldn't be a problem if it was clean! Never again
This is the second time I have stayed and I could see that the front had been painted and spruced up. No problems with WIFI.
The road is hilly. If you aren't fully fit you may find this a problem. There are steps to the main door. There is no lift.
The bed was comfortable-
The bathroom was too small and didn't have enough illumination.
Its in a great location and good value. Nice lively part of town but you're off the main drag. He seemed to charge me a few quid less than i booked for.
Parking is a pain with tickets being issued even when you use the supplied visitor permits, Use Charing Cross parking its 2.50 overnight. The guy on the desk / proprietor has a bit of an attitude problem. I have had issues over payments and changes at this place.
Wi-fi working great.
The room was much better than we expected and really good value for money
Very comfy bed with lovely clean sheets. Obvious attempt at making the rooms presentable with new bedding and new furniture, shame they did not match the rest of room or facilities.
Mould in the bedroom. Room smelled of bleach so at least it was cleaned but off putting. Woman who checked us in was not welcoming in the slightest. The man on overnight was lovely though.
breakfast freandley staff
We chose this guest house as it was both close to Charing Cross Station (5 mins walk) and to the SSE Hydro. It was within a 25 minute walk of the Hydro at a fairly leisurely pace. It was also very handy for the Centre. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room clean, the bed comfortable, the shower hot and easy to use. Breakfast was very nice. We will definitely stay again when we are in Glasgow.
The only thing I would say that there is a lot of steps outside and a lot of stairs inside so if you have difficulty climbing stairs it might not be for you. However, it wasn't a problem for us.
The room was comfortable and clean, and we weren't disturbed by any other guests or outside noise from what is a busy area near the M8 motorway. I liked the free Wi-Fi, because it allowed me to check on events for Celtic Connections and better plan the day ahead
Great value for money. Comfortable bed, awesome breakfast. Near lots of bars, restaurants, and a Tesco Express (Sauchiehall Street).
The bathrooms are not very nice, but ok for a short stay (ours was a 2 night). On the second night, a noise annoyed us a little bit while we were trying to sleep, but we didn't really asked the staff what was it, so maybe it isn't like that all the time.
Toilets were not in a great shape in terms of cleanliness
Thomas was so very helpful and friendly! Gave us directions for our days travels as well as educating us on all the political history of Northern Ireland. Such a welcoming bnb!
The hot water in the shower only lasted a couple minutes
Reception by young man on duty on evening of Friday 16.01.15 Did not like room booked so upgraded to ground floor en suite - much better room and upgrade was reasonably priced for what I got Location - ideal for conference at nearby Mitchell library and nearby restaurants for evening meal
Quality of original room reserved Mouldy window and nearby wall tiles in upgrade's en suite shower room Poor service at breakfast - supposedly breakfast is served from 7 am but waitress was not there at that time to take orders for cooked breakfast. Service was also desperately slow.
Proximity to city Centre, free wifi, price, friendliness of staff
Overall cleanliness of hotel, no plug in hotel room sink
Breakfast Staff location Wifi
The location The staff
The whole feeling was like being back in youth hostel times at school. Breakfast hours were far too short for holiday makers (finishing at 9am) and once you did make it to the breakfast room by 9 the service was very unfriendly and the choice and quality of food poor, so much so that we did not even have breakfast on our third day. We had booked another night on our return from Edinburgh a few days later but cancelled the reservation. Disappointing.
Great location, only few minutes from the main street. Friendly staff, nice breakfast
Old furniture, old room, shared bathroom wasn't very clean
