    Hotel wasnt the best but not the worse ive stayed in. The staff were friendly.

    Where do I start . The location is fantastic when you just want to go away for a relax. Food was very good as was the service.

    Television was rather small . Lots of men sat around a very small screen watching a big match !

    From the minute we walked into hotel the service was amazing and the staff really friendly. The food was excellent.

    The only fault we had was when we went to our room No8 you could see the inside of the windows were dirty, dust in the room was a disgrace, you could see the dust right round the bed and tv unit and right round the edging of the carpet and even the book telling you all about the hotel was dusty. In our room was a sofa bed I couldn't tell you the last time it was moved cause it was thick with dust and there was pop corn and lid of kids juice bottle . Rest of the hotel was spotless

    Location and service

    They don't make enough use of the view and the lodges look a bit tatty. We stayed in a suite, room 301, but the view was over the car park instead if the lake.

    The location of this hotel is fabulous, with views over beautiful Loch Ard. The bedroom was immaculate, with a large and extremely comfortable king sized bed. (Ask for a front facing room) The breakfast was delicous, in particular the locally sourced sausages! All staff were friendly and accomodating, even serving us a cream tea at 7pm on a Saturday evening, much needed after our hike of Ben Lomond (hike very much recommended!). All in all we had a very relaxing break which we found to be excellent value for money and would recommend this hotel to all. Hope to return in the not too distant future.

    Very difficult to fault this hotel! The tennis courts looked like they could use some tlc, so we chose not to use them. On arrival we could only use one tv channel but once notified to reception this was promptly dealt with (a quick retune apparently!).

    Hotel facilities and how well catered the resort is for families. Pool, gym, spacious rooms, gardens.

    The extremely rude Maitre d' in the Rafters Bar & Bistro. Also the food was akin to school dinners.

    Situation overlooking loch.

    On 2 of the nights we stayed at the hotel we found the dinner menu in the Garden restaurant to be a bit repetitive.

    The hotel had a nice swimming pool, although too deep for kids to be able to stand up, but they provided floating devices. Breakfast was really good. Location was good.

    We stayed in the family room which needed updating, but seemed clean enough...just outdated and in need of updating. We got a deal on the hotel, but they still charged full rack rate and had to discuss it with them to change it back which they eventually did. Overheard other guests complaints of overcharging too. Staff are not overly helpful which was disappointing for a Macdonald hotel chain.

    Beautiful location and grounds

    Pool was closed, part of the reason why I booked this hotel was for leisure facilities which when we arrived were closed. Staff did not care. Staff in the restaurant were not helpful regarding gluten intolerance. Many had no idea what it was and the head waiter treated it as an inconvenience. I had asked reception staff that day if I could look at the menu before we booked so I knew if there was great choice for myself and my dietary needs to be told no they didn't have one but reassured that there would be plenty of choice for me that night. We arrived at the restaurant to a set menu with little choice, I could not have the bread or the petit-fours.

    Location Room and bathroom Clean

    Very poor bistro food. No taste, lousy service with poorly trained staff. Weak WiFi connection. Overall: poor Price/quality

    The room was clean. Good size bathroom with good shower.

    I found the bed uncomfortable. The room was too hot. Poor insulation: you could hear very clearly the conversation going on next door!

    The location; it is amazing!

    For the price, nothing is included. A small breakfast option could be included. No ice machine on the floors.

    Loved the location Loved the hotel Food in the bistro was fabulous (did not eat dinner in the main restaurant) Excellent service

    Whilst the staff were excellent, we were slightly surprised at the number of staff from eastern Europe. No complaints at all about their service or performance, but it slightly detracted from the "Scottish experience".
