Each room seemed to have a theme based on the letter "G" .All the soft furnishings matched this theme. It gave the impression that someone had put a lot of thought into the furnishings. Upon leaving a bag with botlles of water were presented, which continued the impression of caring.
Location great for the seafront, Bus stop outside takes you direct to the Gunwharf Quays.Helpful friendly staff. Drinks and snack given on departure. lovely decor and a superb "Big G' Breakfast. Best I think I have ever had in a hotel. You will not be disappointed, I'm definitely going back!
everything !!! the staff were attentive and knowledgeable on the area and the activity's available all the rooms are different a very stylish hotel really lives up to the name breakfast was fantastic the most amazing local sausages ever a fantastic short break
car parking spaces are first come first serve but there was plenty of parking on the side streets so it wasn't a major issue
lovely hotel by a very nice lake
Everything. The location, unique décor, people, room, breakfast, cakes!
Nothing not to like
Everything was excellent and the staff couldnt have been more helpful
maybe some of the decor was not to my taste but it was great fun
Really nicely fitted out and in good condition.
Very warm in the room so could turn the thermostat down slightly.
The breakfast was ok. The toast may as well have been just bread as it didn't have any colour to it and the coffee left a lot to be desired. The full English was quite good. Upon leaving we were given a brown paper carrier bag with 2 bottles of water and nutrition grain bars for our journey.
I didn't like the room, It felt as if I was staying in someone's house. The bedroom was overlooked by houses and there were no blinds or nets on window so had to keep curtains closed during our stay. The bathroom smelt of damp and the white towels were grubby. one of them even had a stain on it also couldn't get radiators to work so rooms were cold except the reception and bar which were warm. We were woken at 2.50am by some quests having the noisiest sex with headboard banging and the lady moaning very loudly. Wasn't a good experience.
Breakfast, Staff ... everything
Friendly staff, warm comfortable room, very clean in all area's, food very good nothing too much trouble for breakfast i don't like fried eggs runny so I asked for them to be cooked solid and they came perfectly done the cook came over to see if they were ok as they looked ugly to her but they were perfect for me thanks . As we left 2bottles of water and 2breakfast bar's for the onward journey very nice touch.
The weather as it rained in the afternoon ha ha
brilliant service by smiley helpful and obliging staff - great breakfast
The whole stay was just perfect, very welcoming staff and beautiful room. Very clean and tidy and had a beautiful sleep
Warm welcome and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Ideal location. They even arranged perfect weather...thank you!
Friendly and efficient staff (Nick). Jacuzzi bathroom was awesome! Breakfast was excellent, especially having it in bed. Close to restaurants, shops and Gunwharf Quay.
Nothing to dislike.
Staff very friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble.G Boutique was very clean and comfortable, good night sleep.Breakfast excellent good start to day.
Nothing at all.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lounge was great; quirky and interesting. It was all very purple! I have a friend who would love it; it's her favourite colour..
The room was quite small but very comfortable. The furniture was a bit plastic. Walls were a bit thin - bring earplugs if you don't want to be disturbed by others' noise. It wasn't luxurious but if you want quirky, friendly and fun, it's for you.
Greeted by helpful staff, who went out of their way to find specific information about Portsmouth/Southsea just for me. The decor and cleanliness. The food. The quietness of the bedroom.
Friendly staff, very clean and tidy.
Staff were lovely and helpful. Hotel was clean and well appointed. Option to dine in room was a nice touch. Quiet location.
Insufficient parking space.
Great breakfast, imaginative decor
should of booked a bigger room! Very Hot and fan provided was not good at all.
The staff were more than excellent and really made an effort to make things extra special for mine and my sister's birthday. We even got a birthday cake and they decorated the rooms with banners and balloons! The rooms were perfect and the breakfast was gorgeous!
G …. Is for Glamorous …. How apt for the name of our room on the ground floor. From the service at the front desk, through to personally being shown to our room (a magnificent spacious purple and white retro dream complete with chaise longue and glittering mini chandeliers echoing the amazing colour scheme) then onto the next day at breakfast, the service in the G!Boutique hotel was friendly, flawless and genuine. On being brought to our room personally by one of the highly efficient and friendly staff, we found two lovely cupcakes on a napkin with the words ‘please eat me’ left for us which was a singular and original idea to welcome guests. There was also a personalized welcoming letter explaining about the weather and various others points of interest that may affect/improve our stay. The breakfast was beautiful and more than adequate without over facing using good quality ingredients all set in the stylish dining area which continued the theme of the retro purple and white that was in our particular double room. Again, the service was spot on and attentive and the staff were nicely presented and courteous and extremely helpful and responsive making the dining experience one I will remember along with nearly every aspect of our stay at this establishment. For the first time in visits to several hotels where WI-FI is offered, in this hotel it actually connected and remained connected with variable signal strength but still remained reliable through our stay. Lots of plug sockets in convenient places which was very helpful. G!Boutique is a hotel that exceeds expectation in terms of delivery and service and quality for the charge applied. The award win associated with ‘Four in a Bed’ is more than well deserved. The best hotel experience I have had for a long time and a memorable one.
My only comments which are not fully positive are that the kettle needed decaling in our room and where there were (very clean and well maintained) laminate floors in the room, it wasn’t as welcoming as perhaps carpet …. Perhaps the addition of a couple of rugs may be a possibility to add a little more underfoot comfort to the space. There was also only one glass in the bathroom when two guests generally stay in a double room, it would also have been nice to have had some bottled water in the room. Also although there was no noise in the night from the surrounding rooms, first thing the next morning we were woken earlier than was ideal by guests in nearby rooms talking quite loudly and opening and closing doors as they got up and made their way to breakfast.
Excellent breakfasts and a free bottle of water and biscuit when we checked out.easy walking distance to many restaurants
There is nothing about this Hotel you could fault unless you are a "serial moaner " The staff are a dream working as a well oiled team friendly cheerful and polite , Breakfasts wide selection well presented and piping hot. Bedroom and facilities clean fresh just excellent , The Hotel made our trip to Portsmouth a real pleasure Well done G Boutique Hotel .
There was nothing to Dislike
