y Gronfa offers high-quality bed and breakfast accommodation just outside the Brecon Beacons village of Pontsticill. Its en suite rooms in the Welsh countryside benefit from free on-site parking.

Score from 112 reviews Very good
Breakfast was tasty and the beds were super comfy. Really enjoyed the stay and very reasonably priced as well.
Modern room and facilities, comfortable bed, lovely dining and breakfast. Friendly staff.
TV reception was unacceptable and when I reported this next morning, the lady seemed dismissive of my comments. Reception in the lounge area was fine so problem was internal to the guest room.
room was clean and spacious, staff were very friendly and approachable, breakfast was really good, parking good 10/10
there is nothing I did not like
Clean room and good breakfast
Mobile phone out of range Wi-fi very weak Television was even breaking up! This made the evening/overnight very remote for a business traveller as nearest town some miles away. Probably ideal for walkers/bikers but definitely not for workers!
All as described by my ratings
Ensuite facilities, great location overlooking the lake and only two miles from pub offering good food, large bedroom, great Welsh Breakfast. Location also good for visit to Castle at Merthyr
traffic was very fast on the road but only an inconvenience when we walked to and from the lake.
Lovely breakfast - friendly cheerful staff. Lovely location with garden overlooking the lake.
Not really enamored with the electric perfumers - found them a bit overpowering
Fantastic location, great view and very helpful staff. Very good experience, will be back!
Would definitely stay here again. Clean and spacious rooms, amazing location. Quality of breakfast and service was outstanding with friendly polite staff.
gave the idea you could see lake.
room,cleanless,comfort and location
Clean room Good breakfast Dog friendly
Proprietress cold and unwelcoming Room looked onto a parking lot Off a busy road
Lovely 2 day break at a family run guest house in pleasant surroundings. Spacious comfortable room with welcoming and accommadating staff. Well located close to both countryside and local amenities.
Lovely location away from township, friendly staff, a short trip to restaurants & lovely quaint town.
The bed was hard & uncomfortable
The bedroom was large and nicely decorated. Having a fridge and bath in the room was a bonus The breakfast was delicious!
We didn't have a lake view even though the description says the hotel is next to the lake. A bar in the hotel would have been nice.
Location, secure lock up and washing facilities for bikes, food and friendliness of staff.
Old and tired - no curtains at window.
Location just off A road for easy access. Surrounded by beautiful scenery in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast menu with generous helpings. Off road parking.
room, bathroom, breakfast, wifi, nice smell
long way from nearest restaurant, no sign on road mentioning name of guest house, there was a total blackout at about 10pm due to a fuse blowing, apparently not the first time
Paid top price for a lake view however beware you only get a glimpse of water if you look to the right, the view is now obscured by trees and there is some road noise at the front. Also tin tomatoes in the English breakfast!! I would rate this 3*
Location, Ambience, Cleanliness, Friendly Staff
It was friendly and quiet and just what we wanted after a day in the car
I didn't like that fact that the price quoted by Booking.com was not what I was charged. It was £80 per room and not the £70 quoted.
Extremely unfriendly welcome
Left key as I was arriving possibly late
Hairs in bath & poor quality sausage
