Ok, the dinning room is old and worn out, food was average, not sure I would stay there again.

Friendly staff, clean enough and all basics covered in the room. Water pressure is great in the shower. Nice selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate with biscuits for the morning. Being able to go straight into the Wetherspoons for a breakfast was a bonus. Free parking is great, there are signs that it's a pay and display but easy to enter your reg at reception for free parking.

Loved my stay in Wigan! This town is a hidden gem with its charming atmosphere, friendly locals, and a perfect blend of modern amenities and historical charm. From the picturesque parks to the vibrant local culture, Wigan has something for everyone. The welcoming community and the rich history make it a must-visit destination. Can't wait to return and explore more of this amazing town!

Wigan has always been a decent night out, we had arrived a little bit too late to go out into the city centre, so we decided to just get our head down and have an early-ish night, getting into the room, I noticed that somebody had been sick quite recently on the carpet of the room we were staying in as it still hadn’t been cleaned up, I would definitely think about not staying in that accommodation like this again

The place I lived in for the first 30 years of my life till 41 years ago is a depressing town to walk around that is losing its character to yet another go at modern development. Too many derelict shuttered buildings. The only town with a bypass that runs through the centre of it!

Wigan is under redevelopment at present, a reaction I suppose to the changing shopping habits of people. The town is no better or worse than many others I visit, but it does look like Wigan has taken action to reintroduce housing to the town centre which should bring with it a shopping and eating revival. My access to restaurants was limited as I arrived on a Tuesday. I was recommended a particular restaurant as being one of the best in the town. It was fine and the staff were wonderful, but I wasn't told when I booked (in person) that the only option was the pre-fixe menu, the a la carte wasn't available on Tuesday. I was there to meet with friends so the overall ambience of the town was less important, but I feel that Wigan is a town that isn't there yet but is trying to get there and will be a great place to visit when the redevelopment is complete.

We stayed in room 26 and the people in the room above were noisy all night - had no sleep so checked out at 5.30am - reported noise to night porter he said they’d been in and out all night have cigarettes. He said he’s done a walk about check at 5am and he could hear them being noisy but did nothing about it - had a 4 hour drive after having no sleep - I would request a full refund
Very friendly staff at reception at the premier inn behind pub, plenty free parking spaces, and at the mount lovely staff, where we had breakfast and evening meals
Very handy can have breakfast between 7am and 10am,plenty of choice. This is a Hungry Horse pub so usual good prices and offers and menu options with Sky/Bt throughout very big pub.Location near a Motorway but noise not noticeable.
Used as a base for Grand National trip, used local train from Orrell to Fazarkeley, very cheap, just a 15m walk from hotel, and 30m at other end.
Great location for local bars and pubs. Lovely pub inside the decor is fantastic with stained glass. Special mention for the extremely friendly staff - I had fraud on my card on the day I was there and had to cancel my details, so the lady from the hotel called me directly when I got home to ensure my refund of the security deposit went through which I was extremely grateful for. Good value for town centre and we had a family room so price split between us. Room was clean with a lovely spacious bathroom
1. Room rate was relatively cheap
2. Room was very clean
3. Room and common areas kept warm with real fire in reception
4. Dining area looks over lawn and pleasant wooded area
5, Cooked breakfast pretty reasonable
6. Staff in the main friendly but mgmt. need to spend some time training the junior staff. However Covid obviously currently plays into this point as guess many of the younger junior staff have not worked at the hotel for long.
7. Nice location with plenty of car park spaces
my daughter who has a grade 4 brain tumour made booking and made a mistake with the dates. The hotel refused to refund her the money even though she made another booking for the correct dates. Booking.com tried to contact hotel to explain but got no reply. An absolutely disgusting experience. She was told at the time that she would not be charged as she wouldn't be checking in but wham! they took the money from her account
It was a very cozy and comfortable place to stay. A garden area overlooked the place which was definitely a plus point. It is well located, with Tesco extra a post office right around the corner. Also, our work place was just a 5 minutes walk from the property which was very convenient for us. The highlight of the stay was certainly its locking system. But the best part were the hosts who were extremely humble and helpful.
At the age of 70, I wouldn't normally have stayed over a pub with live music. However, the critical illness of a family member left me no choice, especially as Premier Inn had increased their prices to £175.50. The staff of the Charles Dickens couldn't have been kinder or more compassionate. I will remember them with gratitude.
Nina was a professional and welcoming host.
The checking in and out was made effortless and the accommodation itself was amazing.
I would recommend Nina's place for anyone travelling to Wigan you won't find anything any better in the area.
Will be definitely staying again.
Pool open early and big. Cleanest hotel I've been to. Hotel is in a good area and just off motorway. The staff remember you. Big car park. Tasty breakfast. Quietest hotel I've been to, you don't hear any other guests and the traffic noise is acceptable.
This was the fourth time we'd stayed at this hotel, and the standards were as high as ever. The place is spotless, the staff are friendly and helpful and there is a good choice of breakfast options. The bathrooms are large, with good showers.
Stuff is very friendly and room is clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable. Location is very good and quiet, city centre is ~10 minutes away with a car.
