The proximity to city centre and public transport links were excellent.
staff very helpful and friendly
theres no atmosphere in the hotel because it's isolated
Rooms spacious, clean, lovely bathroom, fast wifi
Double bed was two single mattresses put together so not that comfy, reception don't answer the phone, breakfast small portions, too far from Edinburgh center to walk to the attractions
Location, cleanliness, value for money
It's quiet, being away from the bustle of the City and has more than adequate car parking, as well as a manned security gate as it is within the University complex
Lovely old building with excellent facilities, great value for money. Very convenient for visiting university Pollock Halls. Not far to walk into old town.
Had to wait for breakfast on Saturday due to the size of room which could have been mentioned when checked in,
Location was ok onto pricess gardens. Staff were very very helpful after a couple of key problems.
The location, quiet, room 16, interesting building, familiarity (our 4th stay), the Observer on Sunday morning, proximity to our family.
Having to go to Masson House for breakfast in the rain.
Very comfortable and clean, easy to take a bus to the city center.
We ended up being in a rush in the morning and didn't realize there would be a long wait for a breakfast table, so I asked if I could grab a muffin or something for us to take in the cab on our way to the airport, but we were told that food wasn't allowed to leave the dining room. So we didn't get any of the included breakfast.
Location, quiet room.
Check in was a challenge and there were no staff at the hotel.
Comfort and size of room fantastic.Breakfast choice and quality was excellent.Great location for our requirements but maybe just a little far out if wanting to be close to the centre of city.Nice stroll into town though and taxi's and buses at had if needed.Definitely would recommend this place to stay.
Check-in is in another building but relatively easy to find.
the location was excellent for our visit because our daughter attends Edinburgh University. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful.
No comment, everything was fine.
Lovely big room, very clean. Good pub and restaurants not far away, walking distance, and easy to walk to centre of Edinburgh itself in 20 minutes. Nice and quiet and good for parking to be free on site.
Lovely breakfast, good transport system. parking good. Lots to see in the city and area around.
It was a shame there was no lounge or bar to sit in of an evening.
closeness to arthurs seat
no restaurant no bar
My room was very dark, needed the light on all the time and was overlooked by passers by. It was unacceptable as a hotel room.
wonderful staffs, excellent breakfast, really convenient location, and the excellent facilities, super clean and comfortable. best value for money, highly recommended!!!
Large bathroom with separate shower, nice change from wet room@ Masson house
Breakfast and breakfast room not as nice as Masson House
I was here for a conference at Pollocks Halls, so it was a great location. I was half expecting it to be a bit shabby and/or cramped, but the room was excellent. Breakfast was also good!
If you were in Edinburgh as a tourist, I guess you might find it a little far away from the centre.
Nice old building, lovely grounds, parking good and nice pub across the road
Cold room. At breakfast tea was provided as a bag with lukewarm water. Other guest broadcasting Russian music from his phone.
Convenient situation and quiet
Bit of a Marie Celeste with check in situated in other building and maze of corridors and doors in SG. No sign of staff. Tea at breakfast was cold and weak.
Excellent breakfast and very nice staff. Odd campus feeling but good location and very near excellent pub. Just to mention the water system sounds like a fog horn first thing in the morning so no chance of a lie in.
The cooked breakfast was not up to the usual standard this time, which was disappointing . Not cooked well and luke warm when served. On oast visits it has been excellent. The cold buffet was still very good .
Good size room and bathroom. Well equipped. Very pleasant and friendly staff.
Would have been nice to have a bar in the hotel.
