The Gables is set in 2 acres of gardens outside Duddo, surrounded by the Cheviot Hills. This family-run bed and breakfast is housed in a charming Victorian villa, once a vicarage. The Gables offers lovely, period-style décor with antique furnishings, elegant prints and fabrics. Its 2 spacious rooms have a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee-making facilities. Period-style bathrooms are located within or outside the room. The Gables' picturesque setting offers views of the surrounding countryside, which is ideal for walking, golfing, fishing, cycling and bird-watching. You can go salmon fishing in the nearby River Tweed and enjoy walks along the Northumberland coastline. You can enjoy a breakfast prepared with local produce in the elegant dining room, while the South-facing study looks onto the gardens. Local country pubs and hearty cuisine can be found within a 10-minute drive. The historic Border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is just 15 minutes’ drive away. The Holy Isle, Lindisfarne, and the castles at Alnwick and Bamburgh are within 25 miles of The Gables.

The McIntosh Family welcome you to our home, The Gables, an elegant former Victorian Vicarage in Duddo, Northumberland. Built in 1867 The Gables stands proudly in two acres of mature garden, with panoramic views of the Cheviot Hills. The Gables offers the space and tranquillity of a bygone age. Calm, peaceful and elegant, we are surrounded by unspoilt countryside and are within eight miles of the charms and convenience of historic Berwick upon Tweed. Our two lovely double bedrooms offer the perfect combination of space, traditional style and modern convenience. Antique furniture and period bathrooms, alongside digital TV, free Wi-fi and luxury beds will help to ensure you enjoy your stay. Each room offers tea and coffee making facilities, and a hospitality tray. In 2012 the bedrooms and bathrooms were completely refurbished to a very high specification. Popular local interests include fishing, shooting, golf, walking, bird-watching and cycling. Whatever the season The Gables is the perfect base to explore North Northumberland and the Borders. The Gables is situated in one of the most beautiful and least populated areas of England and provides an ideal base for the perfect stay in North Northumberland and the Borders. Situated about 7 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed. Guests can indulge in the local pastimes of fishing on the world-famous River Tweed and its tributaries, golfing on one of the local picturesque courses and game-shooting, bird-watching at local wildlife reserves, walking or cycling.
