Probably be good for your business if you offered breakfast included in the price.
The Grand Central Hotel is a beautiful building, tastefully decorated, warm and comfortable. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My room on the newly opened 5th floor was immaculately presented - lovely clean, fresh linen and towels, two magnificent plasma tvs, a comfortable, well sprung bed, smart new bathroom with a roll top bath. There are several smart bars and lounges in the hotel. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. The mixed blessing is the location - it is absolutely central - very convenient for everything in the city centre. However....
The hotel is built into the corner of the central railway station. This is a very busy spot. The road out front is noisy with buses, coaches and cabs stopping 24 hours a day. The rumbling of the trains causes the bed to vibrate slightly - even on the 5th floor. In fairness I should explain that I'm a light sleeper, but nonetheless, the noise and vibration could be a challenge if you're looking for a quiet night's sleep. Apart from that, its pretty much perfect.
Pleasant environment, handy location and friendly staff. The decor was finished to a high standard and the room was very clean.
The doors close slowly to a point then slam shut very quickly. This is very noisy, so I could hear doors slamming from other guests while I was trying to sleep. There wasn't a great deal of soundproofing so you could hear every conversation in the corridor. Something below the room was also causing the bed to vibrate.
Rear bedroom outside noise from station
Hotel style and decoration. Central Location
Restaurant Prices a little on the high side.
The staff in the hotel were lovely
everything except heat in rooms tv in the mirror champagne bar staff - concierge particularly
no air-con Fridge noisy
Location, breakfasts marvellous, staff helpful
Terribly dark entry
Small, hot airless room looking out on roof. Was not asked if I enjoyed my stay. Expensive for room only. Expected better.
Location was excellent, staff friendly. Double room was adequate for needs although no air con so was stifling through the night.
So convenient with access off the concourse of Glasgow Central station. A short walk to Buchanan Street, George Square etc. for shops, restaurants and galleries.
Nothing of note.
The disabled shower room and toilet were one of best deigned we have experience safe secure and adequate storage for shampoo and soap etc.,
A wee bit expensive for coffees and alcoholic drinks and sodas!
great hotel for central glasgow plus easy for the train to london
bar prices a wee bit high but it is a 4 star hotel
Quality refurbishment. Great location. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. We will be going back.
After eight nights, the restaurant menu was still the same. .
The champagne bar is excellent, service good
We went out for the day and when we returned our room hand' been serviced. The reception staff did not seem interested , and when we asked for clean towels we were given bath mats
very friendly helpful staff
weekend stay noisy, bring your earplugs, alot of late night bars in the area.
queuing for breakfast
The Grand Central Hotel lived up to it's name, it was beautiful. We loved our stay short as it was. The staff were wonderful, room was lovely, just as I had expected. Thank you so much for the early check in also, was much appreciated. I loved the staircase it felt very grand indeed walking down that wonderful staircase and that gorgeous chandelier was amazing. This hotel is just beautiful and fabulous location.
The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Location good.
We waited past 3:00pm to get our room only to find the arrangement of the room was incomplete. The housekeeping service person was very rude when she came to finish getting the room ready for us. No change of bed linen despite 4 night stay. Floor in room and corridor were not vacuumed for our entire stay. Crumbs and broken glass remained on the corridor carpet on level 2 all the time we were there. Overpriced.
Rooms, bars, quality of surroundings / decor, second to none public transport access, absolute Central Glasgow location meant hundreds of pubs, shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Great deal on room, but drinks expensive, and access by car for offloading luggage was a nightmare, let alone parking.
Very welcoming staff, superb location and atmosphere, very attractive public areas and very comfortable and well designed bedrooms. Won the Brest hotel in Scotland last year, and we were not surprised.
Nice spacious room. Big bed. Friendly staff. Clean. Tidy. Great location.
The was no smoking facilities. So I had to go 2 floors down to have a smoke then another 2 to get back to my room
Hotel is central for shopping and dining. Love the champagne bar Although right next to the station my room was very quiet Staff extremely helpful and pleasant Would be useful to know that concession parking is at Oswald street car park would have saved me time and several circuits of the one way system.
No on site parking means this hotel is best for arrivals by train. Pillows were to soft for me but I am sure if I had gone to recieption they would have tried to help.
The room was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were first class.
The lack of air conditioning and the continuous noise of a ventilation unit outside the room.
