Good breakfasts, good food generally. Comfortable bed
Very busy restaurant/bar so could do with booking method for residents. Little bit warm in attic room.
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfort and cleanliness of room. Central location for those that have no car.
Management a bit lacking in the evenings. The youngsters running the show could have done with some guidance.
Polite and friendly staff Good location Clean
Not very clean, the dressing table in room 3 looked liked it had never been dusted, hairs in shower and no soap or hand gel in bathroom
Location and atmosphere Room 1 was lovely Breakfast great Staff really friendly and helpful
Food in the grooves of the breakfast tables. Dirty ashtrays on outside tables
Room too small for 2 people, Breakfast room not cleaned
The locality and convenience to everything, very comfortable and lovely breakfast staff very helpfull
top rooms were claustrophobic and hot
Staff were very friendly and very helpful, food was good & fairly priced.
The noise from the Pub next door did disturb our sleep
The breakfast was good and the staff were all very pleasant. A good location in a vibrant area.
A giant air vent directly outside our window! It was very noisy with the window open, almost unbearable (had to turn the TV volume from 5 to 30 on opening the window just to hear anything). The hotel was fully booked, plus I assumed the vent was coming from the kitchens which close at 10am so would be turned off before we went to bed, so I didn't complain. It wasn't turned off before bed, however did eventually go off after midnight, only to come back on again in the middle of the night and scare the living daylights out of me. It was impossible to sleep with the window shut as ridiculously hot and no air con, but impossible to sleep with it open due to the horrendous noise. This room should not be sold during summer months. My 10 year old and I had hardly any sleep and I was very unsatisfied.
Great breakfast served by excellent member of staff
Outside noise after midnight
All of it
A 4 minute walk to chain ferry which is Free to pedestrians. Then 8 min walk to Osborne House to watch Sir Tom.
No parking at hotel
small rooms and old fashioned facilities needs a refurb
People and place
Nothing all very nice
Food is terrible, room was blazing hot, no aircon room faced sun till late and no ventilation. I'm Australian I can generally handle heat but it was radiculous. Staff generally slow, unhappy and breakfast buffet was stale, empty and food to order was average.
We stayed at the hottest week of the summer and Cowes was over-flowing with very loud, happy people. The hotel's outdoor seating area was full of such merrymakers loudly carousing until the early hours - but this didn't in any way impinge on our enjoyment. In fact, it added to the atmosphere. The room was extremely comfortable, and spacious and clean, with every necessity replaced each day and the room left spotless for our return in the evening. Well worth a return visit. Juliet, Falmouth.
Main restaurant's menu was uninspiring, and service was slow. This area, unlike the rest of the hotel, seemed rather dirty.
Spoke to the GM of the hotel as felt I couldn't stay in room 7 because the window wouldn't stay open and it was an extremely hot night. He immediately gave me a choice of 3 other rooms as they weren't so busy that night.. He was very helpful having carried my suitcase up to the second floor. The bed was very comfortable also.
Unfortunately they cannot get permission to do anything to the windows as apparently it is a listed building. Perhaps fans are the answer as there is no air conditioning
Great location,in centre of town, bathroom facilities good.
Poor customer service, overpriced,no individual service.
