we visited this hotel over 2 years ago, and found it ok, however this time it was awful the room was dirty the shower un- usable due to no water pressure the bed lumpy, the whole hotel needed a good re-fit, we decided to try the pool area as this is why I booked the hotel allowing us to relax after a hard days work however the changing rooms were dirty the pool was not clean the paint was peeling off every where, I did give it the benefit of the job saying to myself that it would be cleaner on Sunday morning before leaving however I was wrong and on this occasion the doors to the outside were left ajar so the whole place was freezing I put this done to inadequate ventilation ( they were trying to reduce the condensation) As for the breakfast it was cold on both days and also in the restaurant the lighting was so dim you could not see to read a paper and this was commented on by several other guests. Thus from my review you will gather that this will be my last visit to this place! having driven up from Devon to visit clients. I grew up around this area and the Greyhound hotel was the best in the area at that time, I however feel now that through lack of investment it as fallen way below the standards it set all those years ago and other hotels or even motels have risen above it.
Pool, sauna etc , great atmosphere at thishotel , all staff very helpful & breakfast was amazing
The spa , gym and pool ...
Being kept awake both nights by banging music from the weddings being held there
Staff are efficient and helpful, even when busy.
An early call, but not really the hotel's fault.
Did not like the excessive use of awful air freshener in the room. Had to open windows to try to get rid of it. Bed very uncomfortable
But breakfast was a disappointment staff weren't organised and we had to keep asking for stuff and they ran out of a few things
Price, towels (far better than most), staff.
Somewhat tired and battered furniture. Decor (a wall to wall catacombe of dead, ie empty, house wine bottles). PS don't be fooled by the photo - the hotel is a modern building tacked onto the back of it.
Staff tried to be helpful under the circumstances.
Tired room, toilet wouldnt flush even after we were advised it was fixed twice. The noise from the property behind (dog kennel and vetinary clinic) ensured a sleepless night.
Room was dirty Toilet didn't flush properly Shower didn't work and the cold tap was broken
I had no complains whatsoever about my stay at the greyhound. The staff were really lovely and very helpful and the wedding I attended there was so professionally done, it was a marvelous 2 days stay. I will definitely be staying there again. A massive thank you to all the staff for looking after me so well.
bedroom good size,
bathroom looked a bit tired..
the lift was out of order ,when I booked I booked a smoking double room ,only to be told when I arrived by the very unhelpful duty manager that the hotel does not have any double smoking rooms only suites, so why offer this facility and as I also spoke by phone with the hotel this should have beenpointed out to me and I would have cancelled my booking and gone else where
The reception on arrival very friendly we were running late due to traffic and were due at a birthday party at the local rugby club, the receptionist organised a taxi while we put our things in our rooms and thanks to them we arrived with time to spare. On return time to check the room, clean comfy bed, clean bathroom and shower but most of all biscuits and tea making facilities perfect. Breakfast lovely staff great
On return no resident,s Bar bit disappointed no nightcap
the bed was raised at the bottom felt like it was tipped so we slept the wrong way round the pillows were so thin it was like having none the lift was out of order so had to carry the bags up 3 floors then the breakfast was nasty even the yogurt was horrible ! will defiantly not stay again
Lovely weekend good staff and facilities
The room was exceptionally tired, when I moved the kettle it had never been dusted underneath it for ages, the toilet seat pointed one way and the toilet another. The toilet was a small size toilet. There were bleach marks on the carpet, it was a dark room, it wasnt air conditioned, went to open top windows, spiders webs on them !!! On the wood casing (where the central heating pipes were hidden) there were funny blobs of stuff on there. The bed was soft, the room was too warm, couldnt open windows in night because of road noise we were on warrington road side. People smoking outside our window and we got the smell. The doors were noisey when shutting because they didnt have the springs on that made them shut quietly. The corridors smelt musty and air wick freshner smell everywhere too as if they were trying to cover the smell. The corridor past the function room smelt of sick.
Bar staff where great
The room smelt of mould on arrival not overpowering but it was there and very dusty
Staff were very obliging . Bed was very comfortable and clean.
Real problem with the water pressure so had no hot water. However they were very apologetic and maintained customer satisfaction.
The photos of the place was nice and it was easy to find.
Rooms were too hot, found female underwear that was left by the room occupants before us. These were found by the cleaner who assumed they were ours an were left on top of my partners make up. After bringing this to their attention it didn't seem to be taken too seriously. We had to contact them for an update after we left, after their investigation they said they would refund our stay which we was happy with. After checking my statement it turns out they only refunded 1 night of our 2 night stay.
Swimming pool was good but the changing rooms were poor!
Fan in bathroom didn't work The bed was very uncomfortable. The room was stiflingly hot and no aircon Waited 17 minutes at the bar to be served! Changing rooms in the swimming pool were grubby and no explanation on how to use the lockers!
every thing was very good and could not complain about anything
Leisure facilities were good.
Poor food selection, no hot water so unable to shower or wash.
the staff were very good very helpful breakfast was good good choice
had to change room as shoer and other things were not working and room was very tired looking
staff bed swimming pool food was OK, not brilliant but OK
being moved out of dining room as a coach party was staying in the hotel. that act did not make us feel welcome at all. we were paying guests but were not treated as such whilst we dined. needed more bar staff, only one bar person for coach party and us!
Me and my boyfriend came here as a last minute thing for his birthday. Great value for money, very comfortable bed and nice swimming pool, lovely breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
The swimming pool was a bit busy as it is only small.
