Good location, lovely decor/furnishing, spacious room, friendly staff, comfy bed. Well worth it to pay a bit extra for room at the front for best view.
Can't think of anything.
Well placed hotel with on site parking. The staff very helpful and well informed. Ideal for the theatre and exploring Ross on foot. Very good value for money.
The view from the bedroom was beautiful
As we are in our 80s we found the stairs a struggle with no lift, but we managed.
Everything about this hotel was perfect. Location very relaxing, all staff extremely helpful and polite could not do enough for you. It was nice to be able to get food all day up to late at night and all meals were lovely. Cleanliness in room was one of the best I have ever stayed in, really comfortable. Will certainly be returning.
Nothing I didn't like and I feel if there had have been the staff would have more than helped to correct it.
The location was superb. Hotel very efficiently run. Staff very pleasant. Our room had a lovely view over the river and countryside. Would certainly stay again and thoroughly recommend it
Friendliness and courtesy of all the staff from the initial phone call to the hotel and then with all staff there. We had three rooms and all were well decorated and maintained. The range of food in the restaurant was wide and very well cooked and presented. The hotel is located within easy walking to the center of Ross. There is also views to the Wye from some of the rooms. Overall a very relaxing stay.
One of the three rooms was a bit cool but we'd rather have that than a hot stuffy one.
Location and views were excellent and the recent upgrade has made a huge difference. Lots of choice for breakfast would recommend it as it could not be faulted.
The hotel does not seem to acknowledge special occasions.
Superb value for money, rooms were large and very comfortable, worth paying the extra for a river view. Staff very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Food in restaurant was very good. Breakfast cooked to order. Would definitely go back.
Our visit to the Royal Hotel was excellent from arriving to departing. The friendliness of the staff, quality of the food and clean comfortable room made it a lovely weekend away.
Views across the Wye Valley were stunning.
The staff were polite, helful and attentive.
There was nothing to dislike.
Good value for money. Freindly staff. Excellent location in town. Will visit again.
Main light needs cleaning as it was full of dust.
The view was excellent from our room
Very helpful accommodating staff.
Stopped for only the one night at the Royal. beautiful location, lovely river walk, quaint mainly un spoilt town area. No better place to relax with a drink than the Riverside Bar, what a view!
Room Food Location Overall Facility Parking
Quite comfortable and homely atmosphere. Good food and very good service.
Loved the location, breakfast good although no cold meat or cheese, excellent pastries.
Room (10) was bit hot at night and winter weight duvet didn't help. Dust/flies? in light fixture. Fan and light in bathroom on same switch. Separate controls better because fan noise in night woke partner. Lights by bed so high on wall had to climb on bed to reach to switch off - should be able to reach whilst lying on bed. Poached egg tasted of vinegar (rinse in hot water before serving or use lemon juice). Waitress brought tea but no milk or sugar or tea spoons. Had to ask for them.

Room too hot - unable to open window
I am very impressed with the up grade of the hotel you have still retained the old world charm of the building just fab.
nothing to criticized
Room very comfortable
Restaurant was very stuffy, and I chose not to eat there. Balcony window was stuck/broken. Signing to room 40 was inadequate
quality of the food and the staff were all very helpful. the hotel was very clean in all areas and the rooms were very comfortable.
Floorboards were a bit creaky but it is an old building.
The room was excellent - spotless with impressive views - great personal service - highly recommended!
Breakfast choice could be better - eg yogurt and granola
Nice decor and great friendly staff - food was also great
nothing to dislike for us
only down side no lift in hotel
