Room, Staff, food
WiFi was slightly difficult to connect to
The Abbot ale was probably the best I have ever tasted. Kept perfectly and pulled excellently.
Breakfast service was a little chaotic but not too serious.
The hotel was excellent very comfortable and a nice place to relax. The rooms where nicely decorated and clean. Every one of the staff where friendly and helpful.
Booked a Superior room and it was lovely. Really spacious with comfortable seating area and a fantastic view of the Wye Valley. Very comfy bed. Excellent breakfast. Ate in the restaurant twice and food was average pub fare but good value. Service was good.
Couldn't get wifi to work but could have been my device at fault. Nothing else not to like.
Excellent service Traditional mixed with modern furnishings Beautiful outlooks onto river and countrysdie
Attentiveness of staff Brilliant breakfast Great venue We held our wedding reception here and it could not have been better.
Nice hotel with Excellent views and rooms
breakfast was mediocre and girl serving was miserable, other staff were lovely.
Warm welcome on arrival.Very friendly staff (to customers and each other!) Very efficient and helpful.Excellent food, plenty of choice. Would definitely return.
Having to leave!
Friendly staff lunches good value for money.
Bedroom too warm .Evening meal in resteraunt very poor.
Good location in Ross-on-Wye,the staff were all first class and the food was excellent with a wonderful range for breakfast. We would certainly stay there again. A good value hotel.
The old part of the hotel has creaky floors and being a Listed Building they cannot install a lift. Rooms on the front get some traffic noise.
The room (we paid the small premium for a superior room). The bar, the restaurant, breakfast, friendly staff.
Great service and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Great surroundings and very comfortable. Spacious room. Lovely decor. Will definately visit again.
This hotel looks as though it has been decorated throughout. Staff were friendly and the location for town is great, being at the top of Ross next to the church that you can see for miles around.
Earliest breakfast time is stated as 7a.m. and this can be a bit of a rush when travellers have got to be at a work location at 8a.m. I'm sure it was a one off, but on the day I stayed, one of the breakfast staff didn't turn up for work making it slightly longer to have breakfast.
Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms, excellent food very reasonably priced
We paid for a room with a view, certainly well worth it. Have seem comments about poor décor? It looks as though it has been recently refurbished, keeping the period Georgian features. It certainly is a royal jewel in Ross which is a pretty little town
Other than for breakfast didn't use the dining room, no atmosphere. Use the bar area, food is the same good pub food served in both areas.
From our check-in to the restaurant, our night at the Royal was perfection. We reached Ross after a drive through the beautiful Wye River valley. Sunday night is roast night and we found the restaurant to be great value and the chefs and service excellent. The building is full of charm, is quiet and has lots of parking. Wifi worked a treat.
Why are parking spaces in the UK so small, leaving barely enough room to open the door let alone get out.
In a superior room which had fantastic views and was very comfortable and relaxing.
The food was only average. waited an hour and half for room service, only got it after I had to chase it up.
The room was clean and tidy and well stocked and was a good temperature. Hotel is a good location for Ross and surrounding areas.
The room was large in size but only had 6 hangers in the wardrobe and no drawer space at all. We paid extra for a room with a view - of a huge great big tree! The food and service was fair.
Informative friendly manager who was quick to offer advise and the history of the hotel and the local area.
Lovely hotel. Recently refurbished and very clean and comfortable with stunning views and warm atmosphere. Friendly, excellent staff.
Need access to Wi-FI and no information given on this - anywhere.
Expectations were too high from ourselves.
Beautiful, clean and comfortable room with fabulous views over Wye Valley. Friendly staff.
Long walk with lots of stairs and no lift from car park to room. Noise at night from people in beer garden
the superb views;friendly and helpful staff. lovely hotel and amenity,s
no lift, but was offered help with cases
This was our first stay at Old England Inns. We were surprised that the hotel was as good as it was and we will certainly stay again. The breakfast was very good and we wished that we were staying for another couple of days so that we could have tried the restaurant at night. We only booked for a stopover.
the location was brilliant and the food was good and value for money
