Philopappos Hill is a park located southwest of the Acropolis in the very heart of Athens. The Hill takes its name from the monument that stands on its top. It is also known as the Hill of Muses due to its connection to the Nymphs. Just round the corner make sure you visit the legendary Odeon of Atticus and obviously the Acropolis. You can walk or have a drink at Dionisiou Aeropagitou Street which is a pedestrianized street, adjacent to the south slope of the Acropolis in the Makrygianni district of Athens. At the foot of the Acropolis, it is a tourist as well as a local favorite! Even though it is commercialized, filled with jewelry and souvenir shops as well as cafes, it still gives off a village feel from a different era.
