The room met my expectations, actually I did not expect such a nice room being in Guyana. Clean and the staff were very friendly. Despite some family issues with being sick, my stay was great.

There are a few things I can list about Herdmanston Lodge. We enjoyed the comfy bedroom and amenities, including the balcony view which was very scenic. The complimentary breakfast was well made every morning. And the Wi-Fi was excellent and fast. Room service checked on us every once in a while asking if we needed anything. The furniture and decorations in the bedroom were nice. The chairs were comfortable, and the bed and pillows were soft. My only complaint would be the sheets weren't very warm.

I first stayed in Room 309 which was an awesome room. I came back as an emergency becaues my flight was cancelled and was given an room hassle free! Both times I came in after midnight and the security guard was courteous and had everything in order. I got room 306the 2nd time which was a bit more modest. Nonetheless, it was clean and well kept. The staff was AMAZING... So pleasant and courteous. From the young ladies at the from desk Ashanti and Asandra to the Cook/ Chef and the ladies serving breakfast and tending to my room.

This is home for us so I cannot give an unbiased review.
This is home for us so I cannot give an unbiased review. Definitely a need for improvement in cleanliness especially in open air markets. Private businesses are improving efficiency, government facilities need to step up especially in anticipation of increasing client/opportunities. People are still friendly mostly. Rental cars available if you have the courage to drive.

My last visit to GT was in 1984.
My last visit to GT was in 1984. So far I love it & what i have seen lots of improvement. The streets are so conjested with cars, some traffic lights on the streets would be nice. The van drivers are driving too fast on the road this is the so many people lives are loss. I was very disappointed to see such a mess at the Sea Walls with the garbage, they need to have garbage containers along there, employ people to clean up the mess instead of leaving it there, it takes away the beauty of our beautiful Guyana.

I like the variety of foods available until late evening.
I like the variety of foods available until late evening. Good shopping for local arts and craft. The traffic is hectic during the day with congestion. It is better to sight see in the afternoon when it is cooler.

Georgetown is a beautiful and colourfull city, you have to have in mind always that the security level is pretty low, so be aware and take care. If you can travel in groups and don't go out at night alone. The people, in general, are nice and forthcoming, but sadly enough for most very poor. Don't flash any items of value. If you get into a taxi my best advice is to hang on and buckle up - that traffic is indeed entertaining if you like rollercoasters and such.

A shabby, run down place of open, stinking drains and the constant need to watch who's approaching you or coming up from behind.
Locals are very friendly and helpful and are often most upset that a minority of meth heads etc have damaged the country's reputation.
Robert is extremely welcoming. When we arrived, he took us on a tour of the Georgetown highlights and had been kind enough to provide some water in the room. The location is convenient roughly only a 10 minute walk to Bourda Market and 5-10 minute walk to the Botanical Gardens which offers a beautiful scene of the different flora of Guyana. Robert is also very helpful in arranging access to the room if you are coming in late, providing local transport contacts and accommodating any requests during the stay which was much appreciated!
1. Friendly staff offered exceptional service
2. It's location is walking distance from shopping on Regent Street and other attractions in the city. A taxi service was also available 50m away. The Guinness Restaurant & Bar next door served sumptuous lunches and played great Caribbean music which you can hear from your hotel room.
3. The breakfast was very tasty and delivered to your room in take away containers. I especially loved the fry bakes. The quality was exceptional.
It was ok for one night stay.
I usually take my own linens and towels even at a 5 star hotel. Never walk without footwear for both room and shower. I don't ever touch anything until I do my own house keeping. Door knobs, remote, switches etc. I lay paper towel down before putting any of my items anywhere on table or bathroom counter. I would sanitize always. Shower water was warm.
I would give this hotel 10/10 received the best service , the rooms was very clean and the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was amazing, I would recommend anyone and also my family members to stay at this hotel it feels like home away from home this is a 10/10 experience and it was my first time in Guyana ,BEAUTIFUL PLACE to stay when visiting Guyana
Menu for all meals was excellent, a mixture of local and international dishes. There was an excellent buffet with a Guyanese theme that displayed many of the local cuisines. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was excellent, great service, with relaxing feeling. Walking distance to supermarket and local eateries.
The professionalism of the staff displayed at all times. Also the hotel was very clean and its location was convenient for my business propose. Additionally the staff was very courteous and I felt very safe. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Felt secure at this hotel.
Cold AC, good wifi, fridge, microwave, and clean sheets. And Julian gave me the perfect itinerary to see the church, the manatees, and the explore the markets of Georgetown. Perfect!
The restaurant & bar that just opened. In fact, the picture portrayed in this listing is the restaurant, not the 'hotel' if that's what it's listed as.
