The hotel room was exactly as advertised, and incredibly comfortable. Food at the hotel restaurant was also delicious, and not too expensive despite the quality. Also, photos make the portions look small, but we weren't able to finish all our food. Finally, the staff spoke amazing English and were great.

Very nice apartment, mixing old rustical style with the modern. Comfortable beds and everything perfectly clean. We even got some chocolates and cookies for free. And it's literally 500 meters from the city center - used it to attend Varaždin Half Marathon and it was a breeze. You also get a free parking spot. Hosts are very kind and accomodating. They let our car stay in the parking spot after the check-out (we only had to move it before the next guests came).
On average, it costs $95 per night to book a 3-star hotel in Varaždin for tonight. You'll pay around $169 if you choose to stay in a 4-star hotel tonight, while a 5-star hotel in Varaždin will cost around $294, on average (based on Booking.com prices).

It's a beautiful, historic city, with fantastic local restaurants and cafes, stunning parks, and very clean and quiet. My favourite thing about the old town is that it's all cobblestones and austrian-style buildings with no car access. Perfect to walk around in. Even the streets by larger roads feel quiet, and it's so picturesque and green, it's wonderful to walk in.

Great old town and very nice small castle.
Great old town and very nice small castle. Good for walks, sitting in cafes, reading books, going to restaurants, visiting the cinema and going to small bars.
Not at all overcrowded by tourists (in late September) from various countries.
Very nice place to travel to.

This is a great day trip from Zagreb that is easily booked by bus. The old town core is well maintained and has significant architecture, charming terraces and cafes, and can be nicely covered in 1-2 days if you’d like to enjoy an overnight as I did.

Varazdin is a beautiful small town.
Varazdin is a beautiful small town. The appartment is situated in the ground floor with one main living room (and entrance hall) with kitchen, sleeping room, bathroom and wc. It is very comfortable with a lovely backyard. You can use a table with chairs outside, however, you must tolerate people coming to a small shop on the opposite side of your door. They are not many. The owners are very kind and willing to help.

A beautiful city with hardly any tourists!
A beautiful city with hardly any tourists! Truly a hidden gem. We went in august, when the beaches were full. In Varazdin, there was hardly anyone!
Beautiful castles, country side, and rock climbing.
We had a very enjoyable stay in the apartment "Happy Days". The apartment is spacious, comfortable, clean and has everything we needed. The location is great - close to historic part of Varazdin, shops and restaurants. Our hosts were very nice and hospitable. The day we arrived was rather cold so we really appreciated that our kind hosts put the heating on for us and welcomed us with a warm apartment. We will be happy to stay here again in our next visit to Varazdin.
Probably the best accomodation i have ever had in my trips. A perfectly clean, spacious and modern apartment with 2 bedrooms, big bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The owner has paid attention to every single detail so as to make the visitor's stay comfortable and safe. Our communication was excellent and we were allowed to check out 3 hours later which was very convenient for us. Also, Varazdin's old town and castle are beautiful and deserve a visit.
A roomy, lovingly restored apartment in a 1763 building in the heart of Varazdin. Jura, the owner, was an excellent host, and made checking in a breeze (his English is excellent). The newly renovated apartment is clearly a labor of love, as reflected by the quality of the furniture and fixtures...the refinished parquet floors are original! The location couldn't be more ideal; tucked away so as to be quiet, but steps away from the main pedestrian area.
We had a perfect communication with the host, she helped us with the check-in/check-out procedures and also with the explanations about the apartment. The flat was located about 10' away walking distance from the downtown, in a safe and quiet area. We had also a parking spot close to the flat, so everything went well. We stayed one night, being in transit, so for us was a perfect stay here in Varaždin.
Everything was perfect from start to finish. A lot of care was put into the whole apartment and your every need was catered for by our host. He met us to guide us into the inner courtyard parking, as the apartment is in a pedestrian zone. Although we didn't use the kitchen it looked like it had everything, including a toaster, which is unusual for Croatia. It felt like a five star hotel.
We stayed one single night as transit towards the Adriatic sea. The apartment was a perfect choice for one night stay (good value for money). We found a parking place right in the front of the building. There are shops and a money exchange office nearby. The nice old center is quite close, we could walk there.
location is excellent (within a 10 minute walk from city center), free private parking, breakfast was excellent (you get a pre-prepared table and can choose extras, really nice and people friendly touch), photos on booking.com are accurate, decent and clean room, nice staff
Very nice and clean apartment in a quiet part of Varazdin. The owner was very helpful. We stayed there for only one night on our way to the shore, but if were considering to stay a couple of more nights, we would definitely come back to this place again.
Beautiful apartment a few minutes walk from the city center. Excellent contactless check in, simple and effective. Free parking space in the inner yard. Friendly hosts ready to help with everything you need.
Great location near the old city center and quickly reachable from the highway. Fully renovated hotel, big rooms, spa with masseurs on site, nice restaurant, free parking.
Cosy appartment with a living room, a kitchen and a bedroom in a quiet block of flat. Extremely well equipped. Panoramic view over the country outside Varazdin.
This was a nice hotel for the price of a hostel. Good breakfast spread. Adequate-sized room with good A/C. Close to historical part of town and bus station.
Location close to the center. Car parking behind the hotel. We got another room as the AC did not work in the first one, there was 29 degrees in the room.
