We used it mainly as base to visit Dublin (it's 20-30 minutes by tram) but spent some time walking down the harbour, it's quite beautiful and you can see people learning sailing. There's some museums and monuments worth visiting (sadly we didn't have enough time), and good places to eat. Make sure you try the fish & chips by the waterside. We were actually there for their local St. Pat's parade and it was such a great time!

Dun laoghaire is a special place to me.

Dun laoghaire is a special place to me. My gran swam almost every day in sandy cove. I've raced ironman 70.3 also from sandy cove. And the pier is always a place of memories as my aunt also lived nearby. I learned to sail in the harbour on visits as a kid. The town has a lively lovely coastal vibe.

Hotels offers a wonderful Breakfast for 15 euros and standard Pub menu for dinner usually with a daily special. The Pub was first rate and has plenty of beverages to select from, I would suggest a pint of Guiness. Parking is adequate although a little tight for larger sedans. The rooms are very well kept and bathrooms are supplied well. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I plan to use this Hotel for future visits to the Dublin area.

It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely area.

It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely area. We had no view, so we couldn't really enjoy it. We were there for such a short time it was wasted on us. The room had a smell like sewer, but the beds were comfortable. The reservations desk seemed a little clueless. The breakfast was really expensive, so we couldn't eat there and when i got recommendations for restaurants by the water, the reservationist lady only recommended one restaurant, Hardies, which was affiliated with the hotel. It was hard to get into and there were at least two other restaurants we could go to.

    Lovely harbor town!

Lovely harbor town! Good public transport to/from, many restaurants and cafes, great views. We enjoyed walking along the harbor piers. We had great food at The Vanilla Pod, Gourmet Cafe, and Sushida! We used the DART to travel to Bray one day, went into Dublin and up to Howth other days. Wish we could have stayed longer!

My main issue is lack of good signposting for electric charge points for cars. The 2 spaces were I occupied by non electric cars. Hotel needs to do more to ensure Thai does not happen as it seriously impacted my onward journey not being able to charge my car overnight.

Fabulous, stately, well-maintained hotel - we were so delighted when we walked up! Excellent service, clean, comfortable room and beds. We even had a balcony and the view out the back of the hotel was lovely (even though it wasn't facing the sea). Perfect location for catching buses and DART, loved exploring the harbor area, and plenty of good restaurants and cafes close by. Kids had a great time in the pool and we enjoyed strolling through the garden. Would definitely stay here again / recommend it.

Stayed two nights at Claremont House last week. Ideally located near DART and easy access to Dublin city centre. Short walk to beautiful Dun Laoghaire and Sandycove. Daniel, owner of Claremont,  has his own restaurant close by called "Daniels" - what a gem! It's small and cozy but the food produced is all fresh and mouthwatering and something you would expect from a Michelin restaurant - can't recommend it highly enough!!

If you want to experience what Ireland once was, book a night in this mini period house. I liked it very much. The room has a character of bygone times. The owners keep everything clean and tidy. With a map I found it without any difficulty. It was only a short 4 minute walk from Glenageary Dart Station. I chose traditional breakfast which was filling and very tasty. I'm grateful for this lovely experience.

The best thing is the location. Dun Laoghaire is beautiful, 1/2 hour from Dublin downtown via DART, and many amenable places to eat. It's also a quiet and relaxed neighborhood. The bedroom was clean. It offers an electric kettle and oreo cookies.

The only thing this property has going for it is location. It is convenient to the rail station into Dublin. Otherwise, it is not worth staying here and I suspect there are other options in the area, equally convenient.
