The size and atmosphere of the town suited us perfectly, as well as the location. People were friendly and helpful. It is a great place from which to explore the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara. It is very easy to park, get around and find the roads that take you around the Ring of Kerry and through some of the narrow e.g. Healy Pass (Beara, nearish to Bantry) and the Gap of Dunloe (Kerry). Kenmare is a charming, small Irish town.
Kenmare is a charming, small Irish town. We loved walking through the streets with many shops, pubs and restaurants. Both Holy Cross and St. Patrick's churches are worth a visit. Kenmare is a perfect base for driving the Ring of Kerry and visiting Killarney National Park. We had a fabulous dinner at The Coachman's pub, sitting outside on a pleasant October evening but there are many other dining options too.

Kenmare is a must for people travelling the ring of Kerry. Great shops restaurants and entertainment. The people are so friendly and helpfully, will definitely return. The White Room shop on the main street worth a visit.SiobhanIreland

She assisted us in finding the local launderettes in town, as well as a couple options for dinner on a Monday evening. Clean, comfortable room. Breakfast was delicious and filled us nicely as we headed out to the Killarney National Forest and on to Dingle and Tralee. Highly recommend if you’d like a less touristy and quieter stay than Killarney.
