We thought we had a friendly welcome. The accommodation was all we wanted for a short stay.
Bedside lighting was too bright. Slippery bath
the staff are really helpful and the hotel offers everything you could possibly want. I would definetly use it again.
the double bed against the wall was a bit of a problem as we both need to use the loo several times in the night and the pillows were quite hard.
I have stayed many times in the Gresham and really love it. Easy access to rail and coach station, short walk into City centre. Great food and lovely staff. Hope to go again in November
Great help finding the hotel where I've not visited for many many years and Cork traffic has changed. Helpful car parking and check in. Comfortable large room which I requested, as I was sharing with a colleague, and easy access to wifi
If I'm being picky...a lack of really well made ( toasted not available) sandwiches when we came in from the performance at The Everyman. ....though to be fair, it was late in the evening.
Temp parking at hotel, overnight parking, great staff,
Excellent Location Very comfortable excellent WIfI
Close to City Centre Helpful staff Good rates
Only one small lift Breakfast costly TV antiquated No bath towel on first night
Staff were very helpful, restaurant in hotel was really lovely - food was delicious! There was a group of us there for a friends birthday and the staff were very accommodating and attentive at her birthday dinner. Would strongly recommend this hotel to other travellers. Great central location.
first stay at the Gresham, cannot fault facilities or location, excellent all round and exceptional value for money.
Room was excellent, bed a little bit hard but for the money cannot fault it, lift a little bit slow given the size of the hotel.
A great location with wonderful staff .Housekeeping was to a very high standard .It would be difficult to find anything negative to say about it .
The view from the restaurant during the breakfast
The Wi-Fi signal is not good in some areas
The location was great near to everything
The room was very small and for the money you spent on your break away it wasnt good enough to be honest
Breakfast was ok. Staff were great
My "view" from the bedroom window was a wall about 2 feet away. Insulation was terrible making it noisy and the bathroom was very old.
Convenience to railway station and walking distance to all city attractions
The hotel is clean, attractive, well situated and comfortable. Despite the lack of sleep, we will visit again - opting for a top floor rather than one with creaking floorboards.
The occupant of the room above was very inconsiderate - he made an immense amount of noise and moved around a great deal.Creaking floorboards and slamming doors made it impossible to sleep for long. We needed to loan an adaptor and there were none available.
Proximity to shops and closeness to car park
Room very small. Shower door in shower did not close. €110 for just the room, the room is not worth €110 a night.
beautiful architectural exterior (interior a bit of a hack job, '90s maybe)... decent restaurant as a fallback... stumbling-in distance from the great Sin e music pub!
location of second elevator a closely guarded secret...
Central Location good for access to the city. Good Bar food, not too expensive.
Traffic getting to the Hotel/Car Park was heavy on this trip @ 18:00 on a Tuesday. This is beyond the control of the Hotel but still worth noting if you are on a deadline.
Staff were friendly, hotel was clean, service good
A hotel room that reminded me of the nineties, terrestrial TV channels only, CRT portable TV in room for that rate.
Superb food at the bar. Very friendly staff.
Rooms aren't very soundproof. Heard lots of noise from slamming doors or people talking in the corridors.
Very centrally located, comfortable, very clean room. Meals in bar delicious served by very pleasant, friendly staff. Facilities excellent especially the indoor pool & jacuzzi. Very good standard throughout the hotel & breakfast everyday never disappointed.
The weather was very warm & I think the reception & seating area needed air con or at least to open some windows & front doors. The rule about wearing hats in the pool seemed a bit unnecessary I haven't experienced that before. Allowing guests into the dining area at breakfast with towels wrapped around wet hair was not in keeping with the hotel standard, I think a manager would have been well within their rights to ask the guest to leave & return without the towel.
Not that it was a bad hotel, it's just quite a boring hotel and expensive for what it is. It's not top end and its not bottom of the barrel, it's just characterless and you pay a lot for.
Location, friendly staff, quiet rooms, hot showers, blackout curtains.
Don't let the fancy entrance fool you -- this is a motel. The memory foam beds are so uncomfortable, both of us had backaches every morning and couldn't sleep very well. No minibar, no face cloths in bathroom, overpriced room service. Very basic hotel. Not value for money.
