Great location, beautiful surrounding and spiritual atmosphere. The owner of the hotel, Mr. Narendra and his hotel staffs were exceptional, esp Mr. Pradeep at the front desk. They connect with you like family and are always willing to assist where needed. They went out of their way to arrange transportations, temple visits according to my schedule. The food was really good and great value for money, the service was attentive and efficient. The room that I booked overlooking the great Ganges river where breath taking. As a solo traveller I felt safe and comfortable and would come back again in a heart beat. Thank you for making my spiritual retreat a memorable one!

Rishikesh - the holy city, the city of Yoga have a vast range to offer to the pilgrimage.
Travellers not only across India ,but from abroad do have this city in their bucket list.
One may visit Neelkanth temple, Neer waterfall, Beatles ashram, the local market and how you can forget the Ganga Aarti at triveni Ghat, in the evening,
You may choose the adventurous activities also, like Rafting and bungee jumping.
And yes you may visit several cafe's at Tapovan, one which I recommend is Ira's kitchen.
PS - Plan your dates in weekdays to get most from it, otherwise in weekends, most of your trip goes in traffic jams only.

Rishikesh is amazing depending upon what you like.. take a walk around the Ganges, go hike for beautiful waterfalls and sunrises or spend your time in the Cafes sipping coffee and enjoying meals or go yoga, meditation and kirtan.
It's a balanced place to find whatever you like a corner for everyone there. I'd recommended Rishikesh as a getaway for weekend or more days to anyone

It's a mini world of its own out there!
It's a mini world of its own out there!
Come for the calm, peace and doing things at your own pace if solo traveling. If with friends, there are plenty of things to do as well. There are plenty of food options (non-vegetarian would be much less since it's a holy, religious spot). Cafes and restaurants abound! Random shopping for knick knacks and 'hippie' clothing is sorted. My favourite bit remains the serenity at the quiet spots at the river bank. Go and just inhale and exhale. Take a dip or two. Swimming is to be cautious and it's good there are regular announcements for visitors' safety as one shouldn't underestimate the calm flow of the huge river Ganges is. Rafting should be done if going for the first time. I haven't done it a second time around in my other two times there but would be game to check out the other adventure activities maybe next time. Maybe I should plan a longer trip and do indulge in yoga and all as it'll only be good for the body and soul. Another good thing is that if one plans, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Haridwar are all nearby. It's a great idea to get a two wheeler on rent as that makes mobility great.

Many years ago it used to be a good place to experience real indian Ashram life and you could meet quite a few spiritually impressive teachers and Swamis. You could sit quietly at the Ganges and join one of the many Kirtans in the evening. Prices reflected that atmosphere and time would pass quickly when you immersed yourself in that lifestyle.
But that time has long disappeared and nowadays it lives only on reputation from those days.
Everything is about money, even the Ashrams are now run as commercial enterprises and the quality of the teachings is mediocre at best.
You can get better Yoga training in most cities in the west.
There are lot of westerners having based themselves here to teach and rake in the money from naive tourists. Even the sadhus that would roam the streets have disappeared.
A lot that is being sold comes from China and everywhere there are Ayurvedic clinics and Well-being Spas and bad Latte's or cappuccinos cost as much as in the west.
Plastic pollution is really bad.
Check out McLeod Ganj, they are doing a bit better managing their heritage and nature surroundings.
Cheers

Rishikesh is a great place for tourists to stay. It combines the warmth of Indian culture, nature, adventure sports, good cafes and restaurants, and choices for accommodations. It is known for its Ashrams more than temples

On second day of stay we have visited Neer Waterfall,Which is great option to go.First day we went on triveni ghat for evening aarti and that was very goof experience . Also visited Neelkanth Mahadev Temple which is a great place to visit.Ramjhula and Lakshman Jula are great places to visit.Do not park your car on road side as high chances of challan by traffic police. If you want to have food like home , you may go approx two km away from tapovan. You may find good food on reasonable prices.
Nothing at all, Those who are reading this review, please think 100 times before booking this hotel, It is not a 4 star hotel at all and it is even worst than budget hotel. The Hotel is complete fraud and they even took booking details from me to post fake review themself.
Its the worst hotel you will ever stay. All the reviews with just score of 8 and 9 are posted by hotel management itself by taking confirmation number and pin from customer. None of them are posted by actual travellers. Please check the actual reviews in Google
Extended my stay from 1 week to 2 weeks and plan to return. This is a great hotel and accessible for people with limited mobility. The best hotel I've stayed at in Rishikesh. It is always clean and the staff are very respectful and helpful. It is very safe for female solo travelers. You have the Parmarth ashram right next door and access to the river Ganges. Plenty of places to eat at and get supplies. There is always staff available 24/7. I extended my stay. Hot water is available and so is laundry facilities.
The staff and caretaker were very friendly and compassionate. Right from day 1, they set the vibe right. All the people there were very friendly and genuine people. No 1 place to stay in rishikesh. All the major tourist places are nearby and there is a secret waterfall behind, whose sound acts a s therapy. The common room is full of vibes 24*7. Feels like a home here. Made best memories with good and like-minded people.
Great hotel in the downtown (or equivalent, I guess) of Rishikesh. Staff was very friendly and helpful, there was even a small welcome "ceremony". They helped us to get a cab for our long trip, after out Ola driver has cancelled and the doorman also helped us couple of times to haggle with the tuk-tuk drivers. The room was spacious and clean. I can recommend trying their restaurant, food is quite tasty there.
Not value for money, paid 6k for one day...and whole night electricity was missing...and we slept without electricity and my children were crying whole night...tried to contact staff but didn't pick the call...in six thousand rupees I could have afforded 3 or 5 star hotel and would have got best service...waist of money...not satisfied with service....room size was small...breakfast and dinner was ok.
Clean spacious Room, beautiful bathroom, cool room freshener, cute reception area, overall a a good and beautiful property!
Loved everything!
It's a new property and very well build.
We were lucky on 24 th Dec Night full meal was on the house for all the customers.
The stay is also affordable compare to other good hotels around. I booked just for 1620/- for a night.
Well managed and famous Descent hotel for stay here closed to main market. The hotel is very clean and have scenic view from back and rooms are also good. They have all facilities here and have ample parking. Staff is good for service. Overall good place for stay near Ganga. One can view the Ganga from top or back of hotel side.
Lovely hotel situated in a good, quiet area. But but what really is to mention is the staff, which was outstanding! Hemant and Mayur made my stay unique, they helped me with every single question, gave me perfect recommendations, were there all the time and even took me with them for some activities in Rishīkesh. Thank you!!
It was good.
Best in budget in whole rishikesh.
Whole staff was good.
The receptionist is so sweet. She talks so politely.
And location is superb. Just 100mts from laxman jhula and few mts from holy ganga river.
Must book.
This hotel is very beautiful and nice. Its location is very good which falls near Laxman Jhula. You can go here and take a view of Rishikesh and see the view of Ganga Mata.
The staff here is also very nice and talks very nicely.
Just ok if you are not finding a decent hotel in Rishikesh . Food was just ok . Rooms and washroom were decent for a low budget hotel . It's a Rs.4000 per night kind of property but charges go to 9000 + taxes when full .
Food and hotel amenities, food, cleanliness, generally you will not find services like Delhi/NCR in Rishikesh. I am a frequent traveller and local from the same state so I can identify the difference of this property
The hotel is located on heart of Rishikesh.the stay was very peacefull no sound of traffic no crowd i like this place near by laxman and ram jhula all over the stay was very good and peace full and full of joy
The hotel is very good and loved the ambiance of the rooms. Clean and comfortable and great staff. The staff were very helpful with all requests and did a great job with check-ins and checkouts.
Peaceful location, cozy rooms and really kind and helpful staff 👍
I recommend this place if you look for higher standard room than others average hotels in Rishikesh.
Hotel is placed at a very convenient location. In the heart of Rishikesh. Market is close by and all other facilities. Staff is very good and food is tasty.
