Lack of supply of quality drinking water, bad sewerage system and overpriced hotels, transportation and poorly manged restaurants that is destroying Puri.     A temple town cum a beach. Great place for eating sweets especially the famed Khaja, Chena Poda. A new beach called Golden Beach has been awarded Blue Flags is worth visiting. Puri is one of the most important locations for Hindus being one of the 4 "Dhams".

    Parikrama path is amazing .The temple is clean now. Arrangements should be made to take the senior citizen on wheel chair upto the deities. Separate steel structure must be made exactly infront of deities to prevent jostling among visitors.The door infront of deities should be made wider.It is difficult to see all three deities at a time from a distance.

    Puri is very nice and good place to visit. Main attraction is the Jagannath Temple. Chilika lake is much talked about but is not good- better to save a day and money to skip chilika lake. Konark temple site is worth visiting.

    Cheating began as soon as the person entered the puri.

    Cheating began as soon as the person entered the puri. Everyone tries to rob tourists on the name of Lord Shri Jagannath in any way imaginable. The difficult part begins as soon as you set foot on the temple grounds; people immediately start requesting payment in order to get into the VIP queue. Then, for everything they accomplish, the pandas there demand money. They won't let you in or perform any kind of prayer; if they do, they'll demand five hundred or more. Apki shradha apke pass, wahaan sirf pisa matter karta hai. Kisi ke fasane me na aayen apna dimag lagayen. YouTube me vedio available hain ki kaise darshan karna hai. Best time is early morning and after 10:30pm. The way the line system works is like sending 500–600 people at a time, all of them pushing each other and crushing every Bache Budhe in the process. Be cautious of con artists operating right in front of your eyes if you decide to visit Chilika Lake. It's so easy for them to con people there; everything is business. However, the city is kept up well. People are wonderful in general.

    I'll suggest to avoid Swargadwara beach and the market of Puri. Horrible. Its dirty, no traffic regulation, noisy, unsafe to enter the beach area from main road, all broken pathway, drains overflowing, fully blocked by hawkers. Quite likely to get cheated by roadside travel agents. If someone wants to visit Puri, should stay out of main town area.

    It's a clean and well maintained facility. We had a room with a balcony & ocean view. A/C was functioning and lifts were in good shape. Dining facility was well staffed and choices were brought to the table promptly. They have a Lord Jagannath shrine in the hotel and the priest is able to arrange a darshan to the Puri Dham according to your time schedule. They are also able to provide transportation assistance on asking. Overall a very nice place to stay and we appreciate the hospitality provided by the staff.

    I recently stayed at this Hotel , and I had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located in a Prime location of the city , close to all the major attractions. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful.     There is no such hotel in the name of SarTaj Sea view hotel in Puri , even local police station also has no information about the existance of this hotel. I have paid Rs 4200/- as advance but on reaching Puri we were unable to locate this Hotel. Finally, we stayed there in Hotel Angel, CT Road, near Ramkrishna Math with excessive room tariff. Hope, you can understand the situation we faced there. Now we are going to social net work against booking.com .

    The hotel was very clean specially the washrooms and the hotel gave a very vintage feeling due to its old architecture. The garden added to the serenity of the place. Hotel is located at a 10 min walkable distance from Puri railway station on the main road and there is no problem of conveyance. Hotel Staff are polite and helpful. Photos of the hotel, rooms, and washrooms are same as they have shown in the ads.
