This was a superb homestay, the hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. The building and facilities were extremely clean and well-maintained, and it was a very relaxing ambience. The host also cooked dinner each night which was delicious and I would definitely stay here again.

My stay at Oyster Marris couldn’t have been better, it’s a wonderful, peaceful accommodation a little up the hill, off from the main roads of Trivandrum. The room is spacious and comes with all amenities one might need and, just as the remainder of the house it’s all spotless and shining clean. Everywhere on the property you will find plants, even up until the bathroom, and with windows open and outdoor hangouts (a swinging chair!), all breathes a very comfortable atmosphere. The food served upon request is local, it’s fresh, it’s plenty and it is incredibly tasty. Food is served in a separate room where also a fridge and kettle can be find. Above all though, it’s the people that make this such a lovely place to stay. The family goes above and beyond to make one feel home and to tell the story of Kerala and the Trivandrum area. They take special pride in the foods, explaining all its symbolic meaning. Should I find myself in Trivandrum again, I’ll stay here. That’s a certainty!

Oyster Marris Homestay is a gem — I’m so glad to have found this place! It’s run by the warmest, kindest family you’ll ever meet. Aswathy was a journalist and experienced how hard it was to travel safely and comfortably as a solo female traveler, so she opened a Homestay especially geared toward women — solo, with friends like us, mothers with children. Her cooking is amazing — sign up for every possible meal! The vegetarian sadhya banquet was especially wow. Senthil was fantastic at suggesting fun outings, arranging tuk tuks, boats, train tickets, Ayurvedic massage appointments — he was a logistics wizard and made our visit so easy and fun. The rooms are spotlessly clean and super comfortable, with AC, great bathrooms, a lovely plant-filled dining room for meals, a terrace with more lovely plants. This is a wonderful, wonderful place — I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Beautiful newly-built house with a dedicated 2-bedroom apartment on the upper floor where we stayed as a family of four. The hosts live on the ground floor and are a very kind couple with their son and his grandmother. They were a pleasure to chat with and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Food is delicious and authentic local cuisine, which makes your stay a wonderful culinary experience! The location is in a relatively secluded area on the edge of the city, surrounded by greenery and far from traffic noise.

It was an excellent stay.. our family visited Trivandrum to visit Sree Padmanabha swamy Temple and Kovalam. Host arranged cab and the driver was very cooperative and friendly nature. Its very rare to see such drivers in Trivandrum. we tried homely veg & non veg breakfast and dinner. Truly telling that nothing to say about the food. That was awesome and mouthwatering. Super clean home. Spotless bathroom and room. It is a family & women friendly homestay. Its a very calm and quiet property. If you like to stay in calm and quiet atmosphere its a best choice. Host service are speechless. They arranged everything for us. Homestay is located in a cliff so we can enjoy the sea breeze. We enjoyed the wide view of sea and beautiful sunset from the balcony. When we will be in Trivandrum Oyster Marris is the only one choice for us.

Excellent place to stay... I came Trivandrum for my father's first death anniversary rituals in Parasurama Temple, Thiruvallam. Temple is 700m from the homestay. We have to reach the temple at 5.30am. So our host arranged vehicle facility and they already arranged everything in the temple and we do the rituals without any worries. They served south Indian vegetarian food for us. It was so delicious.. we liked the food and stay.. It is a super clean and very ecofriendly house.. host are very helpful. One of the best homestay in South India I have stayed. Highly recommended to all... Thanks Aswathy and family..

This was such a wonderful start to my trip to Kerala (a part of India I have always wanted to visit). The house and the hosts Senthil and Aswathy were just so welcoming and lovely. I had a late arrival flight and was delayed further because of my baggage not making the transfer at Singapore, but nothing was too much trouble for them to help me enjoy my stay. I loved the food, my cool and comfortable room and the living spaces with all their greenery. With Senthil and Aswathy's help I was able to plan the rest of my trip in Kerala with minimum stress and I had a great time. I would recommend this for solo travellers, but the space would be great for families and couples too. You will have some interesting conversations too. I liked that it was a little away from all the busy streets, in a nice and peaceful area with some great views. Senthil and his wife were amazing hosts. So accommodating. He helped organised a driver for me at the start of my trip. The driver, Sunil, was brilliant. Sunil took us to so many good places to eat that we would not have gone to otherwise. Senthil provided great travel advice and went out of his way to help us with anything we needed. The food cooked was delicious. We got everything we could have possibly wanted. The property itself was clean and spacious.
