The steam bath! That's a once in a lifetime experience. The water is literally boiling under your feet.
The northern lights were visible the night we stayed at the hotel, but it's better to drive out of the town to see the lights stronger.

It was a nice place and we enjoyed a lot the spa and the sauna. It was a nice way to end our vacation in Iceland. The food was okay, but nothing special.

Really spacious apartment with a well-equipped kitchen. It made for a very comfortable stay.
Location was also really nice, only a short drive from Selfoss. There is a Bonus nearby for groceries. If you want something different to eat, just downstairs is a restaurant and down the street is The Greenhouse.
Communication with the hosts was very responsive.

Hveragerdi is like the story of Goldilocks - not too far...
Hveragerdi is like the story of Goldilocks - not too far away from the major cities and airport in KEF / Reykjavik. Not too remote nor too busy. Plenty of dining options and bars and yet not crowded. Not too quiet nor too bright with city lights. Almost the perfect spot if you want to explore anything in Thingvellir National Park. And, close enough to some easily accessible spots if you are hunting for the elusive Northern Lights.
Reasons to stay at Hveragerdi: 1) You just landed in Iceland and don't want to drive too far fighting jet lag. (2) You want to have a base for exploring Thingvellir / Golden Circle (3) You want to step away from the busy Reykjavik and also have options for restaurants, bars and bakeries (4) You want to stay at a spot not too far from KEF airport to catch a flight the next day
Reasons not to stay at Hvergerdi: (1) Your main points of interest are farther south and southeast Iceland (Vik / Jokulsarlon / Hofn) or farther west and north Iceland (Snaefellsness / Western fjords / Akureyri)

A great base to explore South West Iceland, the Golden Circle, and other sights. The little town is easily walkable. We ate at Matkráin which was recommended in the information pack at our accommodation and were not disappointed by the Danish smørrebrød. We also tried The Greenhouse which had a really good atmosphere and is set up as a food hall.

The location is good at the beginning of South Iceland.
The location is good at the beginning of South Iceland. Everything we wanted to see was within 1h 40min drive. Still the small town has a big shop and the basic services that smaller places further out don't have (except Selfoss)

This location was truly magical.
This location was truly magical. It was quiet but close enough to amenities. The walks around our hotel were beautiful, including the walk to the village. Nearby you can do the mega zipwire and the hike to the hot river. We really enjoyed both of these activities. The town of Selfoss is busier and has some great restaurants, it's around 10 minute drive. We also visited the Lava Tunnel which is about 15 minutes away. However, this was pricey for what it was. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money as Iceland is expensive.

Great place to visit.
Great place to visit. Excellent hike to hot springs and geo thermal river for bathing - wasn't spoilt by being busy.
Are out one night at the pizza and brewery in town which was reasonably priced, delicious pizza and lively atmosphere.
We loved the hotel, it is very artsy and pretty and located in a nice spot. We loved the little icecream shop in the hotel as well as the coffee shop. We didn't try the restaurants but they looked tasty. Our room was very clean and very nice. Everything was up to date and comfortable. I thought the proximity to the hot spring hike we did that day was nice. The staff were friendly and accommodating as well.
Loved Inni Apartments! Our favorite place we stayed in Iceland. Apartments were spacious and well decorated, had a cute kitchen, comfy bed and nice water pressure in the shower. Free parking right there too. We didn't use it but there was a hot tub. Also very clean! It's also in a very small and cute town, walkable to a great food hall at one of the hotels nearby.
This hotel is amazing. it’s set in a perfect location beside a river. perfect for chilling out with 2 hot tubs, sauna and a small swimming pool. the rooms were excellent and very clean. the bar and restaurant had many pretty and unique ornaments and ceiling decorations. staff were very friendly and helpful- all
in all - perfect.
The swimming pool is nice and warm (not new but it’s nice to have a pool in the hotel). There are small attractions such as ping pong and pool table. Breakfast was nice and also dinner (however very overpriced). Great location. There is a park 2 minutes from the hotel which is recommended for a morning walk.
AMAZING! Charming apartament just like you see on the pictures. Everything was perfectly clean and it had a great hot tub and sauna which work wonders when you arrive tired after a day of exploring the wonderful Icelandic landscape. Would definitely recommend to any one looking for a great place to stay.
Clean well located hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is included in the price and has good choices. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and it was delicious. Also we got an Aurora wake up call. Thank you hotel for good service.
Lovely hotel, we were in room 11 which was perfect for us to access the hot pool as it was right outside our room.
we even got to see the Northern lights when in the hot pool at night.
Hot tubs and sauna were nice too.
breakfast was basic but nice
The location of this hotel and the view from the room was amazing. The room and the bathroom itself were a little cramped but it didn't matter much because we were hardly ever in the room. The hot tubs were a big plus and the breakfast was very good.
Wow! The Superior Apartment was gorgeous. We loved our stay there. My mom also had her own separate apartment that was quite spacious and pleasant. Right next door to a geothermal park. There's a hotel nearby with a nice restaurant.
Loved the whole concept of the hotel. Great having the upmarket food area downstairs and the design shop. Icecream shop was a bonus. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Everything we needed for a great stay.
Clean and nice place in Hveragerdi near Reykjadalur Hot Springs. We didn't see anyone from the staff but everything worked out well. Parking by the entrance, keys and door code as instructed.
We loved the simplicity of the rooms and they had given thought to sustainability. The decor throughout the hotel was quirky and had a great vibe. the bar and food court was exceptional.
The Greenhouse Hotel is super cool. I love the vibe of the place. The rooms are cute, the beds comfy. The store downstairs is well curated and fun to shop. The breakfast was delicious.
Very clean and affordable hotel. Location is great in case you’d like to discover the south and west of Iceland. Employees were very kind and helpful as well.
