The Hotel Sempione is ideally located 215 yards from Santa Maria Novella Train Station and a quarter mile from the Fortezza Da Basso Exhibition Centre. Florence Cathedral is a 10-minute walk away.
Score from 802 reviews Very good
Offering refined accommodations just 440 yards from Santa Maria Novella train station, the Grand Hotel Adriatico is in central Florence, a 10-minute walk from Florence’s Duomo.
Score from 1081 reviews Very good
Located just 325 ft from Ponte Vecchio, the Hotel della Signoria, renovated in 2013, is in a pedestrian area in the center of Florence.
Score from 861 reviews Wonderful
Love the location by the river, with view to Ponte Vacchio. Walking distance to the center (Duomo, Uffizi, etc.) and the other side of the river (Palazzo Petit). The staff is helpful and the room is great for the value. A wonderful breakfast is a bonus.
The weather- it rained when we were there; but that's not the hotel's fault. I've been told that check out in the morning could be a bit slow, so check out the nigh before departure. Also they do not have a room/closet for leave luggage, the bags are left at a corner in the breakfast room. But the staff is helpful to put your valuables in a safe behind the reception.
Location is unbeatable, close to everything. We’ve stayed in a river view suite, so It couldn't be better, spacious and clean room , comfortable bed and beautiful sunsets from our room window. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Breakfast is a little disappointed , however was fine for us, good coffee and served in a room with beautiful river views.
We found Hotel Bretagna a good place to stay! Was close to everything we wanted to see and do! A short walk to the terminal, Ponte Vecchio and other great sites. The staff were very helpful and friendly, they booked our tours and got us picked up etc! Would definitely stay here again.
The only thing would be that the bathroom was very small otherwise a great place to stay!
STAFF WERE FRIENDLY, HELPFUL AND SINCERE. OUR ROOM WAS ON THE RIVER AND HAD A JACUZZI TUB, VERY REFRESHING AFTER A DAY OF TOURING. WOULD GO BACK IN A MINUTE !!
This was a very nice hotel. Clean, comfortable with old world charm. The view of the Arno and the pontes from our window was a joy to behold every day. It is very quiet at night even though it's on a major street. The staff was helpful, very nice, and unobtrusive. Breakfast was large with many choices. The location -- you can't beat it! We walked everywhere -- to the Duomo, Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti, Academia, and into every corner of Florence. We do recommend this hotel --except for the wifi issues.
The wifi is horrendous. Not sure if it is the same throughout Florence, but it was really bad here. We had to go to the lobby to use it most days, which was a huge nuisance (although it did allow for meeting some other very nice, interesting guests). If you need to stay in touch with work or loved ones staying here would be a challenge. On the other hand, you can also use the lousy wifi as a way to disconnect and have a few off-line days.
Florence is a city to become absolutely besotted with, and this hotel is in a fantastic location to enjoy it, with river views - plus, you can walk to everywhere. The decor in the public areas is stunning and the staff were very efficient and helpful, with many languages between them, including excellent English. The breakfast was plentiful with everything anyone could want, from cereal, fruit and yoghurt, pastries etc to full cooked! Thoroughly recommend.
My room was a bit ordinary after the beautiful public areas - but no big deal as I wasn't in it much.
We stayed in the new annex and it was very comfortable. The view was excellent! The bed and linens were very good. Breakfast was really good. No mold. Close to Ponte Vechio.
For 300. A night walking to the main building for breakfast was a little inconvient.
Wonderful hotel. Lovely breakfast. Would go back as soon as possible"
within walking distance to all monuments without the noise of the center of the city; very friendly and helpful staff; clean rooms; breakfast room has view of the Arno
One has to know there is a hotel at the address given, you must walk up 2 floors to find the entrance, not a problem but good to know. Our room, N°6 was off the buffet service area through a small door outside on the inner courtyard. It was so huge that it was not comfortable to relax in with only the double door to open to get any natural light, but then no privacy. Avoid the rooms off the eating area and you will feel like you are in a palatial hotel and not a maid's room, no matter how spacious it is.
A suite more resembled a large dorm room.
Charming hotel in nice environment
Quality of several facilities like shower, AC (didn't work), bathroom
Staff at the front desk were very helpful and spoke excellent English. They provided excellent directions and suggestions re: 1) where to get laundry done 2) restaurant where local residents eat. The hotel is close walking distance to all the major sites in Florence. Breakfast was very nice and with good variety.
Air conditioning had been shut off due to fall season and the room temperature was warm at night.
Extremely nice and friendly Staff, very professional
Bathroom outside the room, although I have accepted such an offer
The staff particularly Sylwia from the reception area and Kate from the breakfast buffet area are the friendliest. The location and the actual hotel property itself was also good.
Hotel is nearby the Arno River and very close the historical city centre of Florance. On food you can visit all places and if you want to rest you can enjoy your coffee at the balcony of hotel with a view of Vecchio Bridge and Arno River. Breakfast is rich and there is food for different tastes. Hotel and rooms are clean and big enough. Staff is helpful. In short I recommend the hotel.
Great location next to the river and close to good shopping streets. We stayed in the building next to the hotel and the room was modern and spacious. Bed was very comfortable.
Airconditioning wasn't very good. We were too hot most nights.
It was a relaxing stay, staff very helpful. Location perfect.
no room service.
location was excellent, services good, breakfast was above average.
Wifi in rooms spotty at best, staff said working on it, that didnt help me.
The location was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and directed us to some interesting places to eat. Dietary requirements were very well catered for. My husband needs a gluten free diet.
The lift was so slow. The entrance to the hotel via a basement was rather strange and uninviting and our room was accessed via an odd type of balcony with uncared for plants in troughs.
Stay was in the annex building the Palace Alfriedi whose location had a direct view of the River Arno. Fabulous room with designer furniture & furnishings. Very friendly staff in the main hotel & good breakfast facilities. Very clean & conviently located for centre of Florence.
The staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast is good and the breakfast room is great.
Location Good Wifi Nice Breakfast Spacious room and bathroom Great view of the river and bridge TV channels which showed movies in ENGLISH Air conditioning that worked
I cant recall anything I did not like about this hotel. Oh I know, the elevator was really small and did not look inviting. So I just walked up the stairs. A lot of accommodation in Italy have a lot of stairs.
Reception Staff excellent and position good.
Not enough drawer and cupboard space in bedroom and bathroom in mini suite..Need better signage to reception from street level
Excellent and friendly staff Beautiful location on the river Fantastic breakfast
New annex bldg, room on 3rd floor: Air Conditioning did not cool room at all - suspect problem with unit Water for shower/bath did not ever get hot, remained lukewarm. Rooms in this annex are newly remodeled and should not have these problems
the beautiful view from the breakfast room
