need to get bed comforters. The blanket and bed cover were of poor quality.
The staff were delightful, nothing was too much trouble.
Bathroom was very small.
breakfast and receptionalists
This hotel is terrible for its wifi, which never works in the room. The receptionalist said they will fix it everyday, but never fixed it until we left. I hope they can fix it after we leave, which will make other customers convenient. In addition, the shower does not work well in our room. It can not be shifted from the tape to the shower because the button was totally broken. I complained about that to the manager, they finally waived two breakfasts, which show their good atitude to solve the problems. Both problems are not big issues, but will make customers very disappointed becaue I have to get up very early to the lobby to work with internet (Many people now work with internet).
Attractions in Florence are close to each other so no need to book a hotel near the river when you don't have a view of the river , definitely can find a reasonable one in any other parts of the city .
The shower didn't work same as the locker . Wifi was awful in 4th floor . The key was too big and heavy !
Everything except breakfast
The check in process was handled quickly and efficiently and we were given a map to the city and told where all the sites were, like the leather market. The room was huge, the biggest we had had in our travels of a month. It had a bubble bath and we got chocolates in the room every day. We managed to walk to all the sites in the first afternoon we were there which left the next day free to explore more in depth. We even walked up the hill to the Michaelangelo statue. We caught a local bus out to the World War 2 cemetery , which was vey well kept. Travelling on public transport is always nice as you get a feel of how the locals live. Breakfast was the usual continental style and was adequate. You can see all the sights of the city by walking or using public transport. Florence is a lovely city and I wouldn't mind going back for another visit and will definitely stay at Hotel Bretagne again.
Sara at the frontdesk was most helpful and the staff was cheerful and made our stay good. The breakfast was elaborate and excellently laid out.
The shower screen although was not fixed and could have been repaired before handing over the room. The furnishing was sparse too.
We loved this Hotel for many reasons; Close to the artistic centre of Florence. Just beside the Ponte Vecchio . Fantastic breakfast Very helpful staff who looked after our luggage till we could check in. Great, great coffee - we like our coffee.
Hotel location is great. Very convenient for touristic attractions, museums, shopping etc. Easy to walk everywhere. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not perfect but ok. Room was clean, big enough with nice river view.
The air con was loud. It started every two minutes. We had to turn it off but thought it was automatic.
I'd never been to Florence before so this was a bit of a stab in the dark, that paid off nicely. The location, on the river, 10 minutes ot the train station and 10 minutes to Duomo is ideal for touristy stuff and even better for the much more interesting local-ish things in Oltranoa. On top of that, fabulously helpful staff. I expect I'll be back.
location and view
the price was too high for cleanliness also the furniture was old, the reality is not same as pictures on internet
The location of the hotel was very good. It was reasonably quite. The breakfast, although served in a cafe next door was also very good. The bathroom and shower (when fixed) was also good, and the quality of the towels.
This hotel does not tell you that to get to room 209 you either have to take an antiquated lift, or climb 4 flights of very steep stairs. They do not point out that breakfast is taken next door in a cafe. When we arrived the rain shower leaked everywhere. It was replaced the next morning, with no apologies. Our wardrobe was a broom handle for hanging and some office type cupboards for clothes. A kettle is provided but no power point. In fact there is only two in the room, one in the bathroom, one on the floor. For the price charged, this room was very poor value. Hotel guest today need more than one power point.
Two blocks away from Ponte Vechio! The view is fantastic. Room was excelent. Breakfast also good. This was a good pick.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very good welcome. Spent time to show us where all main attractions were on the map. Location good, view good. Cleaning was exceptional.
Room was as advertised and yet I felt slightly disappointed. It was spacious but felt basic. A colourful warm rug might have helped in rainy November. Bed quite hard and pillows not the best. Breakfast - OK. Choice of food available could be better, have to pay for mineral water, but again staff very friendly.
very good location Very nice suite and atention
It is a nice correct hotel, discrete and at a good price. Close to everything, including the train station, with very nice staff.
Breakfast is quite poor, and the wi-fi in the rooms, although it is free, didn’t always work well.
Spacious room; great views from huge opening windows.
Shower so small I could not get into it, room in bathroom taken up by spa. Not really a "Junior suite".. just a large room. Mozzies.
Superb location Reception staff excellent
Studio apt spacious but sparsely furnished and lacking in some basic facilities.
Location was perfect with a view of the River Arno and close to all the sights.
We selected Hotel Bretegna from online reviews and was not disappointed. The hotel is located within walking distance of all the major sites in Florence and had an amazing view of the Arno River from the breakfast room and hotel reception area.
Nothing really. Wi-fi was sketchy in our room but was able to access from hotel reception.
Location/view of river Staff Bed Room size (suite)
Wi-Fi Lack of kettle etc. in room Lack of parking
Location, friendly and helpful staff, restaurant recommendations were excellent.
Nothing really, shower was a bit slow and we blew a fuse first night, but the staff was very prompt and remedied both problems in a more than timely manner.
thin walls so if you're a light sleeper its hard to get a good nights rest... you can hear everything everyone is doing in the building
This is a small boutique hotel in Florence, facing the Arno River. The views are priceless from the balcony off the lobby(2nd floor), or the balcony off the dining area. The room was ample enough, not large. The bed, incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was pristine and contemporary. The staff was exceptional, especially Martina at the front desk. She was helpful in booking a tour, explaining things and mapping the area. The hotel is located one bridge away from Ponte Vecchio, affording gorgeous views both day and night. Walking across the bridges will get you to less touristy destinations for shopping and food. Aaahhhh...the food. It was great wherever we went. And breakfast at the hotel was certainly substantial. This was our first trip to Italy and the Hotel BRETAGNA made it even more special. Joel and Rosalie....Boston, MA.
