In a historic building, Palazzo Alfieri is in the center of Florence. It features free Wi-Fi throughout as well as a terrace.
Score from 203 reviews Excellent
The Hotel Sempione is ideally located 215 yards from Santa Maria Novella Train Station and a quarter mile from the Fortezza Da Basso Exhibition Centre. Florence Cathedral is a 10-minute walk away.
Score from 876 reviews Very good
Featuring free Wi-Fi, friendly service, air-conditioned rooms and a central location, Hotel Calzaiuoli is a 2-minute walk from Florence Cathedral on Via Calzaiuoli, which runs by some of Florence's...

Two blocks away from Ponte Vechio! The view is fantastic. Room was excelent. Breakfast also good. This was a good pick.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very good welcome. Spent time to show us where all main attractions were on the map. Location good, view good. Cleaning was exceptional.
Room was as advertised and yet I felt slightly disappointed. It was spacious but felt basic. A colourful warm rug might have helped in rainy November. Bed quite hard and pillows not the best. Breakfast - OK. Choice of food available could be better, have to pay for mineral water, but again staff very friendly.
very good location Very nice suite and atention
It is a nice correct hotel, discrete and at a good price. Close to everything, including the train station, with very nice staff.
Breakfast is quite poor, and the wi-fi in the rooms, although it is free, didn’t always work well.
Spacious room; great views from huge opening windows.
Shower so small I could not get into it, room in bathroom taken up by spa. Not really a "Junior suite".. just a large room. Mozzies.
Superb location Reception staff excellent
Studio apt spacious but sparsely furnished and lacking in some basic facilities.
Location was perfect with a view of the River Arno and close to all the sights.
We selected Hotel Bretegna from online reviews and was not disappointed. The hotel is located within walking distance of all the major sites in Florence and had an amazing view of the Arno River from the breakfast room and hotel reception area.
Nothing really. Wi-fi was sketchy in our room but was able to access from hotel reception.
Location/view of river Staff Bed Room size (suite)
Wi-Fi Lack of kettle etc. in room Lack of parking
Location, friendly and helpful staff, restaurant recommendations were excellent.
Nothing really, shower was a bit slow and we blew a fuse first night, but the staff was very prompt and remedied both problems in a more than timely manner.
thin walls so if you're a light sleeper its hard to get a good nights rest... you can hear everything everyone is doing in the building
This is a small boutique hotel in Florence, facing the Arno River. The views are priceless from the balcony off the lobby(2nd floor), or the balcony off the dining area. The room was ample enough, not large. The bed, incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was pristine and contemporary. The staff was exceptional, especially Martina at the front desk. She was helpful in booking a tour, explaining things and mapping the area. The hotel is located one bridge away from Ponte Vecchio, affording gorgeous views both day and night. Walking across the bridges will get you to less touristy destinations for shopping and food. Aaahhhh...the food. It was great wherever we went. And breakfast at the hotel was certainly substantial. This was our first trip to Italy and the Hotel BRETAGNA made it even more special. Joel and Rosalie....Boston, MA.
The location was very convenient. Breakfast was great. Staff very helpful.
Rooms and hallways were very poorly lit and furnishings antiquated. Bathrooms need updating desperately. Not able to get Wi-Fi connection in room, only in reception area.
The location was perfect. The room was wonderful and we enjoyed the view over the Arno River. Loved the outdoor restaurant over the Arno River. They served great appetizers if you ordered a drink in the late afternoon. The reception was smooth and woman very helpful.
The breakfast was good but the eggs and meat were cold. We had a lot of trouble with the internet. It was very sporadic and I had to go into the hall above the stairway...
If you loved the film "Room with a View", then this hotel has the atmosphere. We stayed in a newly renovated part of the hotel which in the next building. The ceiling of the huge room was covered in Renaissance paintings, whereas the rest of the interior was completely modern and very luxurious. The view from the 2 tall windows was of the Arno river and 3 bridges including the Ponte Vecchio. A magical scene with exquisite lighting at various times of the day. The reception desk, lounge and dining room were in the original building which was the home of a very wealthy family in about the 15th century. The ceilings are decorated with exquisite paintings, porcelain plates and gilding. There is an original marble fireplace and wonderful old chandeliers and appropriate antique style furniture. The atmosphere is very graceful and authentic. There is a rooftop terrace from which the view of Florence is enchanting. Perfect for sitting with a drink at night or day. Our travelling companions opted for a very large room in the section with the reception area and that came complete with antique furniture, original wallpaper and fittings, an up to date bathroom but no view. We were also shown a much less desirable room with no view and a rather uninviting, dark and unattractive decor. So our fabulous experience was due to having the right room.
The small clunky lifts which only fitted 2 people and a bag each. But this didn't really matter much as the rest of the experience was fabulous.
Location is perfect. Staff friendly and happy to assist. Best breakfast of all the hotels we stayed at during our month long vacation in Italy. If we are fortunate enough to visit Florence again in the future we will be staying at Bretagna without any hesitation. Thank you to all involved for making our stay a memorable one.
Cannot think of anything worth mentioning.
Wonderful location, Terrace, Breakfast, especially kind desk
The location and the breakfast (which was included with the room) was very good at this hotel and the rooms were very clean. I always like hotel rooms with wood floors because there tends to be less dust buildup in the room. The price did not quite fit the value, but at this point you are paying for the location.
There was construction going on outside of our window and the walls seemed to be paper thin. The plumbing also made a weird smell throughout the room- even when we opened the windows it still smelled like sewer. The wifi would work off and on, but like most hotels, it was not a very good signal.
The locación is very good, by the river in Florence
* Excellent location * Very friendly and helpful personnel * The style of the hotel matches the beautiful surroundings * Very good breakfast and excellent cappuccino
Staff were very friendly and helpful.. Breakfast was good and the location is excellent
Bed mattress was hard
- Awesome reception lobby and breakfast area @ piano nobile level: both with amazing view of Arno river + balcony. - Full star rating for receptionists
- Horrible entrance at street level: nobody there even receptionist or guard and looks like an entrance to a crypt. - Step up at room corridor. - Limited breakfast options
- The location, 3 minutes away from the Ponte Vecchio. - The staff, extremeley helpful and diligent - The charm: beautiful ceilings, - Our room was huge (#6).
- Other members of our party had really small rooms , for almost the same price: Don't hesitate to put a few more € to get a large room. - Access to the garage is 25€ per day.
Love the location by the river, with view to Ponte Vacchio. Walking distance to the center (Duomo, Uffizi, etc.) and the other side of the river (Palazzo Petit). The staff is helpful and the room is great for the value. A wonderful breakfast is a bonus.
The weather- it rained when we were there; but that's not the hotel's fault. I've been told that check out in the morning could be a bit slow, so check out the nigh before departure. Also they do not have a room/closet for leave luggage, the bags are left at a corner in the breakfast room. But the staff is helpful to put your valuables in a safe behind the reception.
