Hotel Bel Soggiorno, hotel in Genova

Located in central Genoa, the Bel Soggiorno is set in an Art Nouveau building, 500 metres from Genova Brignole Train Station. All air-conditioned rooms come with free Wi-Fi and discounted parking.

The location is perfect. It's on the best street in Genoa. It's close to everything, easy to walk to most places, and there is a bus stop 2 minutes away with a great bus service, and a train station close by too which makes day trips out of the city very easy to do. The room we had was great in size and really relaxing. The room is modern and the beds are very comfortable and the room is very clean and fresh. The ceilings are really high too so feels very airy. We had a lovely balcony which faced the main street, with stunning architectural columns and a great view of the whole street. At night you don't hear any noise from the street as the double glazing blocks it out completely. The main road isnt too busy at night anyway ( it is busy during the day). The staff are really nice, friendly and helpful too. The breakfast is great. There is a wide selection of food to choose from, and great coffee. There is an elevator too so easy to get there with luggage.

FAQs about hotels in Genova

Ship Shape and Fancy Free

Hugging the Ligurian coastline, Genoa boasts Europe’s largest old town and Italy’s largest seaport. As birthplace of Christopher Columbus, its heart and soul is the port, site of the Naval Museum and the ship-shaped Aquarium.

By the old port (Porto Antico) are several bars and restaurants serving the local speciality – pesto. Other Genoese favourites are focaccia and fresh fish from its Mediterranean shores. Don’t miss the homemade gelato ice cream along the seafront promenade – Corso Italia. East of here is the tranquil Boccadasse neighbourhood, where colourful boats bob up and down.

The best city views are from Villetta di Negro, a raised, shady park with a waterfall. Below is UNESCO World Heritage-listed Via Garibaldi, home to the ornately decorated Palazzo dei Rolli.

South is the old town with its black-and-white cathedral and Piazza de Ferrari, featuring a large fountain and historic buildings including the Doge’s Palace. The surrounding area is a maze of narrow, cobbled streets flying the Genoa flag, supposedly where the English took theirs from. Each features bars, restaurants and unique shops, while fancy boutiques are on Via XX Settembre.

As you approach Genova Airport look out for the fortresses on the lush hills forming the backbone of the ‘Superb City’. Booking.com has a range of Genoa accommodation, from hotels to apartments and B&Bs.

Genova is a beautiful old city with many gorgeous palazzos, churches and interesting streets. The harbour has many ships, historical landmarks and an aquarium. There are restaurants to suit every diner and pocket, from endless street cafes selling pizza and pastries to superb fine dining restaurants offering wonderful seasonal specialties. Great shopping too.

    A beautiful ancient city.

A beautiful ancient city. We visit the Aquarium and the lighthouse and walked in the city. The architecture is interesting and nice building and decorations could be find at any corner. It is a very good place to stop for a day or two while traveling in north Italy. Better to arrive when the weather is good and the view is clear.

    Beautiful city.

Beautiful city. So many twists and turns through small alleyways. Felt magical. Great food scene. Felt like a local. Great small city vibe. Il genovese was our best dinner— very reasonable for a nice dinner. T/terra was a great cheap dinner find! Enjoyably food and 7 dollar pastas! We took a day trip to cinque Terre which was very easy by train. Unfortunately the hiking paths were closed for actual race. In town, we enjoyed the old city sites and the aquarium. Getting around was easy— download the transportation app and you can buy tickets on your phone! Machine tickets were often broken.

Parking was a bit challenging but the town is very large but beautiful. There was a good presence of police officers which was wonderful. They all seemed professional. The lunar park was was enjoyed by the children. The staff there where friendly and the rides seemed well maintained. The staff at the aquarium took time to explain and answer any questions. The aquarium was clean and the exhibits where well placed and planned offering both English and Italian descriptions of animals and sea life. Greatly appreciated by the only limited Italian speaker. The food in the aquarium though understandable limited was above my expectations.

    Beautiful city.

Beautiful city. I went on a whim, because of a cheap Ryanair flight, and I am very happy I did! Small enough to travel around easily, and walk to most, if not all, the attractions, great food, very welcoming people, and a very intersting history. A relatively unknown gem.

The hotel is very well positioned right next to the main train station which makes it a very good base to start exploring the zone. And here I mean Cinque Terre as well as Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Camogli. It is also within walking range to the Acquarium and touristic port. The breakfast has multiple choices and the best caffee I ever had in a hotel in Italy at breakfast. The air conditioning worked like a charm and it was very efficient.

The owner of the apartment is a very nice person, especially he helped us and drove around Genova for fixing our rent car‘s Tyre pressure. We really appreciated his great help! You can Imagine the situation - a foreigner drive in Italy and tried to find the car repair station on Sunday… but finally the owner helped us😁 we are lucky to stay at his apartment and to know him! The hotel is located in the marina area and near to the old town. The major attractions and good restaurants are within walking distance. The breakfast spread was comprehensive with many local special dishes. The best that my family had in my one week stay in Italy. Please ignored those touts who try to direct you to a neighbouring carpark at the entrance of the car park hotel. Highly recommended.

Great and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was very good. The hotel staff was very helpful and gave us warm and cold water for the baby's milk. The beds are comfortable and room service is also very fast. We requested for iron and it was provided within 5 minutes. We stayed at the hotel and traveled to Santa Margarita and stopped at a few beaches along the way. Was a pleasant stay.
