Marina Piccola is a friendly well run family B&B who are very helpful to any questions you may have and full of recommendations of what to see and where to eat.
Quite noisy through the night from outside (fireworks, dogs barking/howling etc) and from other rooms but all in all a pleasant stay.
Best location, amenities, and comfortable lodgings. Just the best, and a reasonable price.
Nothing. Just the best experience a couple could have.
Really open smiley friendly greeting and very helpful with restuarant options and bus/ferry information. I loved this room, best of our stay. We fell asleep watching the lights twinkle on the sea through the open french windows! Also has a great shower The breakfast was also very comprehensive with lost of choice. Great views from the rooms over the marina. A small beach immediatley in front. Thoroughly recommend!
Its a little out of the way from the town and restaurants but suited us because its very close to the port. There is a lift up to the street so it is not a massive problem. It makes it a quiet spot actually.
We had a wonderful time at marina piccola 73 - the most wonderful view from our bedroom, lovely room and ensuite. breakfast was delicious on the terrace each day. staff attentive and friendly and very happy to help my husband with his 'Italian'!!
Great room overlooking the harbour, much quieter than the hectic streets up above. Spacious and well appointed with good breakfast.
The staff were very helpful and informative on things to do in the city, highly recommend this beautifully located place to stay.
The room was big with lots of windows. The views were stunning - from the room and the terrace. Breakfast was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions about the area. We stayed at another hotel in Sorrento a few days earlier, paid more money - this one was way better!
We loved the location - can't take your car to the hotel but they have an arrangement with a garage that will drop you off and pick you up - so not an issue, especially because walking is a much better option than driving in Sorrento
Here is a hotel, tucked away on Sorrento's waterfront. The view across the Bay of Naples is Vesuvius. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. Not too much, just enough. The owner and her daughter and the other members of the team are friendly, helpful and make you feel right at home.
One note of warning: if you want to use the dockside garage, be sure to rent a very small car, so it can make the turn on the quay. I'd also recommend buying a bloodhound for your first visit, just so you can find the place. This, however, is also part of the charm.
Finding the hotel location make sure you follow instructions on hotel website or follow signs showing porto
Local to everything. Staff & breakfast wonderful
bed was very firm
Only wish we'd had more than 1 night here & that we'd been able to have the full breaskfast - our transfer was too early so thay did a packed breakfast for us. The bed was by far the most comfortable we stayed in during our 5 day break. If we come back to Sorrento, we'll be staying here again....a real gem!
The only downside was walking back in the evening - it was eerily quiet & we weren't sure if it was safe although we had no problems.
The MP 73 is hidden away just down the hill from the town square. It is very comfortable and has a sense of romance and style for a reasonable price.
It was a bit hard to find at first, more specific instructions would be handy
We stayed in the Jr. Suite in the Tower. It was really unique to stay in the tower. The bed was super comfortable.
There was a thunderstorm that night and it echoed through the tower. I guess that's the price you pay for staying in a midevil tower.) Also, the bathroom on the 2nd floor was a little disruptive in the middle of the night.
Staff and view
Local restaurants poor quality and a real rip-off. Beware!
The hotel staff, primarily Roberta, could not have been more gracious. We particularly appreciated her solicitatious personal service as we watched the sunset on the lovely terrace with a bottle of wine, a couple beers, delicious olives and other nibbles. The patio view is exceptional. The rooms are painted in lovely colors and the hotel has unusual and somewhat edgy decorative touches (large photographs of nudes) that will tickle some and, perhaps, put off others. The inluded breakfast was generous and the cappacinos that Roberta made upon request another treat. All in all, very good value for the money in a beautiful city with many more expensive hotels.
The hotel is not well-signed and the approach and entry a bit rough - at port level, passed a parking/storage garage area, though a massive red gate (press the intercom to get it opened) and then up a cement incline. A new mattress for our room's bed would be a worthwhile improvement.
Ambience, continental breakfast great.
Tower room we stayed in needs better furniture. Restrictions on food & drinks on terrace.
The breakfast was good. Property located near ferries for Amalfi trips.
The property must be north facing as nearly all rooms get no sunshine at anytime of the day from our experience. Very small sun terrace that only gets a few hours sunshine. Very very small balconies.
This small gem of a B&B is tucked away on the waterfront of Sorrento yet close to some restaurants and shops etc. Feels like you are entering an old castle with a gate and cobbled pathway yet the rooms and premises are eclectic, modern and clean. Lovely patio overlooking the bay.. Maybe you might have the good fortune of sleeping through a thunderstorm – as we did to enhance the authenticity! Would love to go back.
Long walk up to the main streets of Sorrento.
uniqueness of decor, the terrace for dreaming, being away (just a little bit) from the crowds, breakfast, closeness to the water, real sand beach, relaxing location
one person was injured and using wheelchair and ramp to rooms was steep and rough, difficulty in reaching from SS145 (recommend using garage and being shuttled - hotel can help with reservation - $$$)
The view The view Breakfast on the terrace The shower The room
Our room was adjacent to the area where breakfast was prepared and there was some noise starting around 7.30am
A little quercky but very nice. Great view from the balcony , lovely breakfast, overall a very pleasant stay. Parking is fun ! dont bring a big car.
My wife didnt like the naked lady painting on the wall. Fine by me !!!!
Views of harbour
Over 200 steps down to hotel although lift or buses available at a cost. Hotel in shade so room and veranda felt damp.
We absolutely loved Marina Piccola 73! The location is excellent right by the sea. Even though it's very close to the port and not far from the centre, it was a tranquil spot even in August. The whole place from the divine roff-top terrace to the overall decor is just beautiful. The owner and all the staff members were very friendly and welcoming, and the place very clean. Definetely coming back, if we'll only have the chance!
We love the scenery and location. It was away from town and quiet at night. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. You MUST have a very small car to utilize the B&B garage. Otherwise, prepare to park your car in garage up the street.
The wifi coverage was not very good in our room. On the main balcony area it was very good.
