Loved everything! !
Great calm, beautiful area close to citycenter. And great service from the staff (Carlo)!!
Spacious , quirky apartment.Everything you need available.Love the fact it felt like someone's home .Clara was most welcoming and helpful.Wouldnlove to return .
I can't say enough great things about these apartments. If you read the reviews you will see many positive comments about Clara. Well they are all true plus some. In short she made our stay special giving great advice and checking in from time to time to see if there was anything we needed. The location is excellent, just a little outside the busy tourist area (about 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride). Lots of stores for supplies and close to a taxi stand if you don't want to walk or take the bus. A number of restaurants are close by if you don't want to cook. We had a one bedroom so there was lots of room to relax in the apartment or prepare a meal. In addition there is a large patio to enjoy the sun and laundry facalities so you can travel light. We have travelled throughout Europe for a number of years and always book apartments and this location ranks with the best. For our next trip to Florence we will just email Clara to set dates. Looking at another loaction in Florence (other than another of Clara's properties) would not even enter my mind.
Great position a few steps away from Porta Romana and the Boboli Gardens. Easy walk to Ponte Veccio and the city centre so we could put our car away and walk everywhere. The apartments are older style and elegant and provide everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The location, the way they renovated these apartments, the restaurants in the area, Clara the owner and our host.
The apartment is in a good location, near Boboli Gardens & Pitti Palace but a good 30 mins from the centre. It has airconditioning in the living area but only ceiling fan in the bedroom. The staff are fantastic, Clara was very helpful. Helped to book tours for us.
The bed was not the most comfortable, quite soft. Also the bedroom faces a busy street & is very noisy!
Clara is the best host we had ! Follow her recommendations and you will see Florence as Italians and not as a tourist ! Clean, spacious, stylish yet authentic, original, quiet, amazing apartment ! One of the best accommodations I had in the whole travels
Perfect! As this was my first time staying in an apart-hotel, I wasn’t certain what to expect. This FAR exceeded my expectations. It really couldn’t have been better – oh, wait, I could have had more vacation time there – that would have made it better…. The Poggio Imperiale Apartments are part of a mid-19th century villa about 200 ft up the hill from Porta Romana – the medieval arched entryway to the central city which you can see from the patio. You walk up the 6 steps from the sidewalk, through the gates onto the grand patio and see roses in handcrafted terracotta pots and honeysuckle covering the patio fencing. Looking one direction, you see another villa through the cypress trees, the other direction, the Porta Romana arch. The apartment we stayed in is quite large, and after staying in small hotel rooms and living out of a suitcase, it was magnificent to be able to unpack and spread out. We could sleep in if we wanted as we didn’t have to worry about sleeping through breakfast. It was so nice to get groceries from the supermarket, the green grocer and the butcher shops along Via Romana and take them “home” to make nice (simple) breakfasts and dinners and get wine (fresh from the barrel at a wine shop just past Porta Romana on Via Romana). After walking the city all day it was a wonderful respite which refreshed us enough to go back out in the evenings. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, we just preferred to eat-in. As the villa is right along a bus line and at Porta Romana there are so many buses available, this really feels centrally located, yet outside enough to feel relaxing. Pitti Palace is located about a 10 minute (slow) walk downhill from the villa and another 3 minutes gets you to the Arno. Clara, one of the apartment owners (we never met her brother – the other apartment owner), is absolutely wonderful.
Not enough time there - vacation too short.
It felt like a home away from home. Clara was the most helpful and welcoming host and couldn't do enough for us
Only one small compliant-the room was noisy at night but ear plugs rectified this
Very nice apartment, big and clean. The local is quite ok, around 20 mins from the center, easy to get it. Not a simple room but a real apartment with all the forniture
Just a bit noise
Great location.Clara the owner is fantastic, appartment is large and excellent value.
Bedroom is next to a busy road, quite noisy at night.
Owner was very nice and kind. The apartment we stayed in was a loft and had very large areas. Apartment is in a old building that has been renovated, which gives it a nice ambiance.
Even though the apartment is renovated, I believe that some modification would highly improve its comfort. For example, kitchen appliances/utensils were a bit old fashion, as it was the bed and mattress. I understand and agree that these contribute to give an old/historical feeling to the apartment but at the same time they make it less functional, which is not desirable.
Clara, the hostess, was amazing. She gave us so much helpful advice, looked after us like her personal guests, arranged our car parking and was there to see us off when we left. The apartment was well-equipped and comfortable.
Nice Italian studio apartment with rustic interior. Friendly and helpful manager. The only apartment that provides all necessary condiments for cooking!
The only thing I could find fault is the location which isn't too bad, as it is right next to the beautiful garden next to pitti palace. The price reflects this so it is value for money, given that Florence is general quite expensive.
The apartment was comfortable and the owner/manager (Clara) was very welcoming and helpful. Good value and a much quieter location than most more centrally located apartments. It was very close to the Boboli and Bardini gardens which was a great plus.
Initially we were disappointed by the location as the road was busy. However, the apartment was well back from the road and the terrace was very pretty.
We love staying in apartments when we can. Poggio apartments are in a good position, close to Pitti Palace, restaurants and a quick taxi ride to the railway station. Clara was very helpful and gave us great information on places to eat, drink and sightsee. Really made our stay in Florence.
Very nice place to stay, a walking distance from the old town center and very close to Bobolli gardens entrance. The owner Clara really cares about us! When we arrive, we get the city map, all answers on our questions and many advices what is worth to see. So, if you decide to stay here, ask advice about where better to go, where to eat (as locals), or whatever you need to know, Clara is very helpful, really loves hers city and wants show for tourist the city in the best way! Also Clara booked for us couple excursions and helped us to make choice where to go better (due we couldn't decide which place is better to see....). Excellent stay! The supermarket is about 3-5 min walking from the apartment. The apartment looks really like it is in the pictures and wifi works great in all areas of appartment. Also the building has history which you can read in the quest booklet!
The lady was very friendly and helpfull. The apartment was very spacious (except for the shower). The apartments are very well situated, next to the Giardina di Boboli (Gardens of Bolboli).
The back of the building is to a street that is somewhat noisy in the morning - and the windows are single glazed.
Really excellent location, easy to walk in to central Florence and all the sights. With advance booking and a small fee secured parking is available opposite the apartments. Friendly host who helped point out supermarkets, restaurants etc' and helped with info' on the sites. Very nice local area feel whilst still being close to the tourist sites.
Very convenient, easy to work to viewing spot but quite and nice place. Very good service.
Traditional Italian apartment in elegant old mansion with easy access to the centre of Florence. Lots of local information provided by helpful owner. Good proximity to shops. Nice private terrace. Private car parking on request.
Nothing - all good
Oner is very kindness! Location is natural, very beautiful and near the pont Vechio.
There were basic facilities which were needed to make foods. So you can save money. Clara was very kind. She waited for us until late evening when we arrived there and made a reservation of Uffizi for us. There was a pizzeria where we ate very delicious pizza (you should visit there) near that apartment. It is located outside of center city but you can go to Duomo, Uffizi and train station (SMN) on foot. If you will use bus from the train station, you should get off the bus just before Porta Romana.
