Clean sheets, free toiletries. Spotless bathroom. Delicious breakfast. And all of this for a really nice price.

Karakol is a small, charming, village-like town located at the foot of the mountains. The views are spectacular, the air is tasty-fresh, the food is diverse and as organic as it gets; most importantly, people are open, welcoming, a little reserved at first, but ready to help once you approach them.
Infrastructure and buildings are decayed, but it only adds to the charm of the town if you are open to go through a little hardship here and there, especially if you are arriving from a megapolis.
Karakol offers a few interesting museums and galleries, but the main attraction is that it is an intermediary place to starting your journey exploring peaks, gorges, vallies, hot springs and all the other natural gems that Kyrgyzstan offers its guests. The town itself has very interesting history and a crazy mix of many ethnic groups (Kyrgyz, Ukrainian, Dungan, Russian, Korean, German, Uzbek, Uyghur, Tatar, etc). Find yourself a local friend (easier to do in Kyrgyzstan) and he/she will open up doors to many other amazing sides of Karakol.

You can easily stay one week or longer in this destination.
You can easily stay one week or longer in this destination. There is everything you may expect from Kyrgyzstan: lake Issyk Kul just a few Km from Karakol, amazing mountains with lost od different treks: one-day or multiple-day. I suggest to definitely climb to Ala Kol lake, visit Teleti valley or go up to the pass, immerse in hot springs in Altyn Arashan, or if you need a modern structure go to Ak-Suu thermal pools. Jeti-Ögüz is a 100% must see, or go to Jargalan valley and admire dozens of semi-wild horses, rent one of them and enjoy the view to the world from horseback. Buy some local hand-made products e.g. shirdak carpets, taste awesome local cuisine (esp. lamb, plov or manty) and don't miss local market in Karakol, wooden Holy Trinity Cathedral, unusual architecture of Dungan mosque or Sunday animal market in the town suburbs.

We stayed in Karakol for 2 nights - before and after our hike to Ala Kol lake. I would recommend bringing camping gear from your home country as the shops in Karakol aren't great. There are companies though that you can rent tents, cooking gear etc. if you prefer. Karakol has few cafes and restaurants (we tried Cat Cafe and Meeting Point) aimed for overseas travelers but also places to try local culinary (unfortunately the highly recommended place was closed for Eid).

The town is very flat and was not what we expected.
The town is very flat and was not what we expected. It had all the things we needed (restaurants, convenience stores, petrol stations) and was easy to get around. The museum was well worth the visit. The cathedral we only saw the garden and outside. It was a lovely unique piece of architecture. The real attractions are the mountain passes and valleys.
One of the most beautiful hostels I have ever stayed! A cross between a hostel and bed and breakfast! The first floor shared areas are decorated in a luxurious ranch style with leather sofas, rugs on hardwood floors, and sturdy hardwood tables. The rooms are equally cozy and the entire facility is immaculate, bathrooms included.
The host Andre has lived in Kyrgyzstan for years and has a wealth of knowledge about hiking, skiing and the area generally. The facilities are truly beautiful, clean and the breakfast was wonderful!
We stayed at about 20 accommodations, including some apts, during our 6-week travel n Central Asia and Georgia. This was the BEST host! Check-in instructions were in detail with a video. Every question we had, even those unrelated to the apt, was immediately answered via WhatsApp. The kitchen was best equipped, including a dishwasher. The views of the mountains were fantastic! We loved Karakol and plan to stay here again when we return next year .
Overall it was a good stay. Attached to a restaurant with good food so it's easy to eat.
There is a bar behind the hotel you can get drinks at, and a welcome drink of beer is provided and it's open late.
Internet was good enough for remote working.
Location is a 15-minute walk from central.
We didn't have any noise from the road with the windows closed, and this wasn't a problem for us.
I will say right away: I haven’t t lived in other hostels in Karakol, but this one is the best.
This is not just a hostel, this is a community of people who travel, go to tracks, share experiences and have fun.
I really like this kind of hostel and highly recommend to stay here.
P.S. There are no questions about the living conditions, there are even curtains on the beds ☺️
Didn't expect to find this nice, comfortable and clean hotel. Food and all-inclusive breakfast at their restaurant were delicious. Administrators (two guys, sorry forgot their names already :-( ) were friendly and very helpful, thank you! All staff was friendly btw. So many benefits for a good price. My partner and I enjoyed staying at the hotel very much. Thanks a lot!
Ordo's host, which resembles Mars. His name was Mars, too. My colleague couldn't eat due to the trekking pauses and had a hard time due to dehydration. The host gave me a ride to the hospital, explained my colleague's condition directly to the doctor, and helped me recover from the fluid injection. One look at it shows ten. The best kind hotel in my life! Ordo!
The hotel is a very comfortable little nest only a few minutes from the center of Karakol. The couple who own the Bayotel are a lovely pair who will do everything they can to make your stay as pleasent as possible. I had such a wonderful hearty welcome when I arrived, one can only know that one will have a great stay. I have to say thank you very much.
The place is very tidy and very comfortable, furthermore our host was very kind and even let us leave our car in the parking lot outside the hotel while we went to Altyn Arashan. If you find yourself in Karakol and are in need of a place to stay, I would definitely recommend this place! Kudos to our host!
The hosts are very friendly. Always available to help with questions about Karakol, even if you don't speak Russian.
The house is large with good spaces, natural light and great view. The bathroom is new, clean and spacious. When I return to Karakol, I want to stay in this house.
Yuka-san's place is absolutely gorgeous, cosy, and very clean. The breakfast included is delicious, and the general attention to details stands out.
There is also parking bearby and the location is very convenient.
Absolutely recommend if you are thinking of staying in Karakol!
The hotel is conveniently located in the town of Karakol with some great dining options (ask the hotel manager for booking help). Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable making the hotel a nice stopping point for Karakol and Jyrgalan trips.
Very helpful staff, the owner speaks English and helped us a lot and he opened the hotel to us when we arrived by night bus at Karakol very late at night. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast buffet was very rich
The hostel was a perfect location for hiking and treking around Karakol. Quiet and comfy hostel. A host Aika is very helpful, friendly. She is knowledgeable about the area. We will come back for sure.
