Lovely adventure spot nestled among beautiful karst mountains, sinkhole swiming spots and limestone caves. The town itself is nothing remarkable but does have a lot of young traveler energy, which is fun.

The landscape and settings are great.
The landscape and settings are great. You can get there with the new fast train. The Chinese built the train stations and they all are far away from town, not sure why. Vang Vieng is very popular with fun sports very young people including lots of Brits and Aussies. Not the best food I had, try out GOAT for Vietnamese.

It has a good night street food central to many hostels.
It has a good night street food central to many hostels. Nature, including the river and mountains, they are great. Moreover the tours you must be careful about which ones you pick the prices are generally similar but many of them are different they use different areas for particular activities like zip lining or the blue pool they are actually like five Blue pools don't go to number one because it's very small and it has a ton of people that is quote the cheapest pool to go to. So ask to see pictures of their different things because as you can see there are different company names like wonderful or Jackie or seven or whatever there are tons of them and they have their own teams and they run their own thing some are better than others and I went to one from seven and it was okay well isn't the greatest experience but it was okay.

This is a popular destination for backpackers and young people. There is no shortage of bars, restaurants, and food carts. There are many types of recreational activities and tour operators but it’s easy to reach hiking trails and lagoons on your own. Phangeun - Silver Cliff - was worth the hike!

We stayed there for about one week and tried also two hotels in this time.
Vang Vieng is very beautil und it takes a while to discover the different beautiful places here. Best option is to rent a motorcycle. And for some view points you have to be an well physical condition to reach them.
In Vang Vieng we tried a lot of restaurants and different food and just one restaurant was very disappointing for my Lao wife and me...
We liked the Namphet Restaurant.. its a bit hidden behin a bridge.. but you will have a beautival view to the river and very good food..
what we didnt like was the behaviour of this crowds of chinese tourists.. they behave like laos is disneyworld

General a nice town with lots of restaurants, bars and a really nice nature around. BUT: totally overrun by tourists, especially Chinese. Cycling to the hills outside town will result in lots of traffic due to hundreds of stinky, rectles buggys and vans shutteling tourists from lagoon to lagoon. The lagoons are overfilled with people, the river with kayaks.
Once you arrived a Hill to climb or a cave to explore, it gets much quieter.
All in all: Beautiful nature around town once you reach it, but be ready to deal with mass tourism.
I had the best hotel stay here. I normally stay in hostels but I got a private room here and I didn’t regret it. Michel the owner is such a great host. He helped me plan all of tours for a good price and well timed. The breakfast is simple but good. The AC in the room was powerful, the shower had hot water, and the bed was comfortable, room has a great view of the mountains.
Planned to stay 2 nights and I stayed a week. The downstairs doesn’t have some cats but once upstairs you can’t smell them.
This is one of the best hostel i have been stayed in Laos . The staff super friendly and helpful. The dorm bed is comfy and comfortable , good A/c, hot shower, free breakfast in the morning is bonus. In the evening hostel have free whiskey , happy hour , nice music. It is very easy to meet new friend in the hostel. The staff can help you book river tubing , Kayak , Zipline , Blue lagoon , hot air balloon, train ticket for reasonable price and good quality . Highly recommend .
If you are amateur travellers, this place is the best for you because you will have all free information you need for your trip in Laos. The friendly staff could provide you tourist maps, show you where the most interesting points in details and where you should not go beacuse of the worse roads. The room was so clean with basic facilities for a good stay. Central location but rather quiet at night was the hotel bonus for us.
Definitely recommend
The hostel is definetly the beast one in Vang Vieng. It is centraly located, great pool, a bar, pool table, lots of activities to do and the absolutely best hostel manager, Pikachu. There you can book ziplines, balloons, tubing, paragliding and everything you can imagine. The hostel staff is extremely friendly, free drinks for a couple of hours everyday and perfectly safe. You'll have a blast and it was one of the best hostels I've been to, for sure.
Super helpful owners who can assist with booking bikes, transport, etc. Bungalow was simple but clean, equipped with the best mattress I have encountered so far in Laos. Stunning landscape views from the garden, perfect for watching the hot air balloons at dusk and down. Location was a but further away from the bulk of restaurants and shops but this meant it was very quiet. Laundry service was quick, cheap, and thorough. Wi-Fi was good.
The bed was the most comfortable I found in Laos. The receptionist was very helpful. It’s easy to get impatient in Laos, and we rely on hotel reception on so much from finding drinking water to booking tours, trains, buses. The receptionist answered all my questions, booked my kayak tour and arranged my ride to the train station. The included breakfast is also very nice and comes out quickly. Great service all around.
The rooms were excellent, we stayed in both the twin room and the double room on different nights. Both rooms were lovely, clean and felt well maintained, they were also both a very good size. The staff were really helpful and we were able to book a scooter through them for a good price. I would go so far as to say that this was the best hotel we have booked in Laos so far, and possibly all of Southeast Asia.
The staffs was excellence Ben welcome us by a cup of welcome drink and tell us about the town also some tips to visit Vang vieng . we booked Hot air balloon and train tickets with Ben prices was better than online booking. Our room on top floor was big enough for both of us. Hotel also clean and good location we like Wifi at Chamap hotel that fastest we got at Laos.
We loved walking around the guesthouse's neighborhood because it was located centrally in town. Their staff were so kind and friendly enough to talk with. They spoke English well and it seemed to be easy to ask anything about our plans in Vang Vieng and other places in Laos.
Quiet and clean guesthouse
Return soon!
It's new, so it doesn't have many reviews, but you can totally trust it.
The whole room is very nice and spacious, like in pictures and for a very cheap price. The bed is the best we had in Laos/Vietnam. You also get towels for free. The host is friendly and welcoming. Came for one night and stayed 2 more.
Hotel is located at the nice spot. There are many restaurant around that area. At night you can walk to Sakura Bar, Even your friends are drunk but the hotel is not faraway so you are safe. The host is very nice. She facilitated our transportation to hop around Vang Vieng and it's pretty cheap here.
The best place in all of Laos, the most worth the price. Central location and quiet rooms. WiFi is excellent. Varied and excellent breakfast. And above all the amazing and helpful staff. I would recommend and i would come back stay hare again.
, Everything Wonderfull!amazing place for stay, great room,so clean and nice, staff so friendly and helpful, they have all sevices we need for my time in vang vieng,i like this hotel'if i come to laos i will come to Valentine Boutique hotel

This is the best place we got at Laos. Hotel was located abit away from noise area take 5-7 minutes walk to pub,restaurant.. 300-400m walk for quiet and clean place we happy to walk. Hot water good also big bathroom.
GREAT HOTEL! Honestly best we’ve stayed in so far, so lucky we got to stay here . The staff were very friendly, especially Michael who gave me a bunch of advice for my travels in Laos .
We loved our stay at Kong. The hotel is built from old shipping containers and it's designed beautifully.
The beds are super comfy.
