Parking was free and worked fine, just take a ticket from the machine when entering the lot and activate it on the lobby desk before leaving. Quiet location and a decent mall nearby in a walking distance (100 m) with some restaurants and shops. Breakfast was included and was good enough to energize your day. Plenty of buses shuttle over the bridge to the city center if not in a mood for walking 1,5 km. All in all everything was ok.

Beautiful architecture, lots of green spaces, fairly compact. I participated in two free walking tours (an old town one and an art nouveau one) and both were great. If you're in Riga for just a couple of days, as it was the case with me, this is an excellent way to see and learn a lot.

Riga is a very attractive city with a picturesque Old Town and a newer area which includes many beautiful Art Nouveau buildings. There are many nice parks and green spaces. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants and prices are reasonable. As well as Latvian and Russian, English is widely spoken. Public transport - buses and trams - is very efficient and inexpensive. Walking around is easy though many areas in the Old Town are cobbled and might prove difficult for some. One hazard is people travelling around very fast on e-scooters that are almost silent and can rush up behind you without warning.

Riga is a very photogenic city. The buildings are gorgeous and there are some great surprises when you explore on your on. I never take an organized tour.
Plenty of restaurants.
I cooked in most of my meals.
But the food in the city is very good.
Walk the Riga Canal! Always beautiful no matter what time of year.
I personally like "Lido" which is near the beautiful Orthodox church.
It has been a favorite since my first visit to Riga.

Just walking around you find the most amazing things, such as a free cello recital at St Peter's Cathedral. Incredible food at such amazing prices. People are just lovely. So easy to walk around, scooter or cycle.
This hotel was amazing - I was hesitant to stay here at first because it's not directly in the old city center but it is actually the perfect location! It's right in between the old town and the new area with all the good restaurants for locals. The room was really huge and it was decorated beautifully. The bed and pillows were comfy and there were chairs and a nice big TV with a ton of channels. The breakfast was great as well. I stay at hundreds of hotels per year and I LOVED this hotel. The spa is super clean and nice.
I liked the fact that the hotel is well located between the old town, national opera, freedom monument and the train station.
Bus 22 (from Riga airport to Riga city center) stops near the hotel, so no need to take a taxi to reach the hotel.
Rooms were spacious and clean.
Breakfast was very good and the highlight of the breakfast is the coffee.
Staying at the Avalon Hotel means that all the tourist attractions (Central Market, Old Town, House of the black heads, National Opera, Freedom Monument) are on walking distance
Great value!!! Hotel has a very peaceful feel to it, neighborhood is great and quiet, with lots of wondeful and delicious cafes within walking distance, also a large park is nearby. Room was very clean, staff was very friendly and warm!!! Location is amazing, very accessible to all places in the city, close to old town, city center and close airport (few minutes walk to stop for bus 22 that goes direct to airport). I would recommend staying here.
Riga Ibis was clean and friendly. No problems with checking in. Breakfast was served every morning and was decent. Shower was good. Staff was helpful and was able to answer our questions. Internet was great and worked well! Hotel has a small bar in the lobby, but there is so much to do in the area that we went elsewhere, Hotel is walking distance to the old town, shopping areas, and the historic Riga Central Markets (a must see!)
Perfect location for old town (which is where you want to be in Riga). 95% of anything you're likely to want to visit in Riga is within walking distance. Very clean hotel. Quirky, shabby chic style inside - looks better than the photos online. Family room had a good-sized double/twin and separate good sized single bed. Buffet breakfast perfectly good for a short break. Easy to get to from airport by taxi or local bus (#22).
We got a really great deal on the hotel and to be honest I had fairly low expectations - expected the room to be a little on the "tired" side. Everything turned out to be great and in a really good state (at least in the room and on the floor we got). We wanted to stay in the city center (as opposed to Old Town) for a change, and the location was great for that - right next to all the Art Nouveau buildings.
Hotel is located in perfect place to reach old Rigas city part.
It took us 2-3 minutes to reach all main old town street and architecture gems.
Room was nice and tidy, fridge was filled with drinks, and prices were reasonable.
Breakfast was good as well, plenty of food to choose.
Staff polite, helped to receive lefted presents in room after check out.
Lovely hotel. Greeted by friendly staff on arrival, the room was well located to explore Riga and take advantage of the brilliant old town which is around 20 minutes’ walk away. The purpose of our trip was to watch football in the national stadium, and this hotel is around a 2 minute walk from the stadium which was perfect for our trip!
The location is right in the centre of Riga with access to the old town and art nouveau areas. The hotel was very very good value.
The staff are very helpful.
It is a cheap hotel with shared facilities so don't expect the Ritz the room was large, comfortable and had enough charging points to keep your devices happy.
Very nice and clean hotel. We got a river view room. Beautiful panorama of the city at night. Bathroom with bathtub, free parking and very tasty breakfast. Close to the center. The cost of getting to the old town is 3eur - BOLT. I will definitely come back to Riga and to the same hotel. 10/10
The hotel was great, breakfast tasty and plentiful. Location of the hotel is perfect too - not far from the centre or the old town. Staff were polite and friendly. Received a free room upgrade, that was awesome too! If I have the chance to come back to Riga, I'll come back here.
Nice hotel in walking distance from the old town and across the street from the Riga market. The receptionist was very helpfull and provided a sights map and gave us some details about the whereabouts. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was tasty with enough choices.
Well located near rail and bus stations , handy for the central market and a short walk into Riga old town .Hotel was well kept and decorated , clean and tidy , rooms were well equipped and the shower was great , the breakfast was well stocked with quality food items .
The hotel is not in the center, but is only 50m (maybe even less) from the tram station which comes from the old town. So the location itself was perfect. Big bed, nice breakfast for a good price, definitely I will come back there in a second time in Riga.
Amazing view of Riga's old town, great room complete with even a small balcony and a bed with a very comfortable firm mattress. Breakfast buffet had great options too. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed my stay.
The location is excellent, the hotel is in the top cuty center, in the Old town Riga. The breakfats was very good. The room was the most interesting thing, romantic, old style. I like it.
Wellton Centrum is my favorite hotel in the Old town of Rīga.Like everything - location, rooms, nice small SPA, good breakfast, kind staff, comfortable parking.
