Breakfast ok ... caffe desgusting machine and no choise of tee
ALL SMOKING ROOMS the bett and all smelled from smoking... desgusting Alle RAUCHER Zimmer das Bett hat gestunken alles hat gestunken... schlimm horror
All the above where I said excellent. No problems
not much really, just the coffee in the morning
You can walk out of the hotel, through the park, past the mosque and you are in the middle of the markets. The mosque is always visible, so it's easy to find your way back! Some reviewers have said that the staff aren't helpful to non French speakers. Well my my partner and I only speak a little French but we got by. Anyway, Morocco is an Arab and French speaking country. Try using a phrase book, or Google. The hotel has very good facilities, and although it could be spruced up a bit, it really is very good value for money. Our room was very good, and comfortable. Wifi was always on - although the wider internet connection was sometimes down. Breakfast was good, with a wide range of choice.
The lack of spoons in the dining room - really.
Great location to the old market place. Could walk most places. Staff except for a couple of people were excellent. Very clean rooms
Rooms are dark and hallway carpeting was frayed along the edges. Most staff spoke very limited English but fluent in French. When asked about a city tour in English the person in charge of tours said there weren't any, just in French. We did find the city tour "hop on hop off" tour nearby. This was not a four star hotel compared to other 4 star hotels that I've stayed in.
The location of the hotel is great easy to walk to the main square and also to get about. The pool area was very nice and a pleasant break from the busyness of the Souks. The hotel overall was clean and tidy.
The staff hardly speak any English which for a 4* hotel I was shocked at, my rusty GCSE French wasn't quite up to scratch to be able to get my point accross. The hotel in general is very tired and in need of some TLC which again for 4* I expected a better standard. The food in the hotel is very basic and not done to a high standard so your best off eating out and experiencing some great food that the city offers.
Good outdoor space, pool and large areas to sit out. Close to the main attractions.
Tired, group type hotel. Bit run down.
Excellent location ,easy walk to medina & hivernage area .great pool area .
Breakfast poor -stale croissants .Also music was played on a loop all day which was too loud to ignore & became irritating . Guests did complain about it but it continued .
Food was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms had no bins, fridge or minibar. Wi-fi was intermittent at the best of times and the tv had 4 channels - not satellite tv as shown on the website.
Just far enough from square to be quiet but close enough to walk back and forward. Poor English spoken but enough to get by. Food at hotel average but okay. Eat a square best bet. Lovely warm and very clean pool and pool area. Nice outside areas for sitting.
Chairs in reception and lounge uncomfortable but very clean none the less
I enjoyed the bar and pool
I didn't like the way the lady would not heat up my pancake
Staff were helpful it was clean,
French speaking hotel english not catered for all, several days of rain no english tv channels all morrocan food preganant cats everyehere not been cared for or fed, horse and carriage area outside hotel the smell of urine as awful as u approached hotel.Definetly not a 4 star
The room was big and the bathroom was the best one we had during our trip to Morocco (although they should fix the shower head to the wall so you don't have to hold it). We had a balcony which looked onto the swimming pool. The facilities were amazing. The pool is big and heated (around 18-20 metres in length and pretty wide too) and the water was very clean. The tennis court is great and guests can play for free, but it wasn't in use on our last day which was a shame. The table tennis table is great, even though the bats are a bit rubbish. The atmosphere is really nice in the garden. The breakfast was amazing - the best we've had in Morocco - with lots of choice and good quality ingredients. Only suggestion would be that they include more fresh fruit, but this seems to be unpopular in general in Morocco. The location was really perfect.
We were given a room with two single beds pushed together even though we asked for a double bed. This was not ideal. The TV didn't have any channels in English. The staff didn't really speak English.
Parking, location, breakfast,
Nice staff but reception staff was not avalieble on our arrival. We heard they was in the staff room behind the front desk. We waited and shouted and at least the showed up. To bad for a 4 star hotel.
Beautiful view from pool-side room; Walking distance to city center; Nice pool and garden, spent long hours lazing by it; Relaxing setting for outside restaurant tables; Courteous staff; Daily excursions from FRAM are very interesting and reasonably priced; Would have used the tennis court, but did not have the time!
Erratic WiFi; TV with only Arabic and French channels.
breakfast terrible you couldnt sign anything to your room bill everything in cash on the spot aircon did not work in most rooms
Location was excellent. I would classify the hotel as a bad 3 star.
Worst breakfast offering I have ever seen anywhere in the world.
The staff were really friendly. It was a very relaxing atmosphere in the hotel (making up for the manic shopping in the Souks)
The location was convienent for walking or taxi. The pool was nice, relaxing
The room was small, AC wasn't working well, the room had an odor. The sheets weren't clean, Sorry but I will not be staying there, the next time i'm in maroc
Loved the location and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Plus side was no children maybe because of the time of year. Very good for a short break.
Hammam was basis but girl was good. Would use a different establishment next time.
Hotel a short walk from market and souks. Lovely pool and good breakfast. Most of staff friendly and helpful.
This hotel is a well priced gem within a stones throw of the medina. It's friendly but quiet and staff are great. It's not, as other reports I've seen would suggest, unfriendly towards non French speakers. In fact, far from it. They will go the extra mile to do their best for you. Rest assured. This is probably one of the most honest and genuine reviews you will read on here. We have our own house in Marrakech, but like to have a couple of days to relax before diving in. As seasoned travellers to Morocco, (29 years this year. ) I really rate this place and thoroughly recommend it.
Have been trying to rack my brains, but can't think of anything.
The pool at Chems was lovely, especially when the weather became very hot . Location was fantastic near to erything, but just far enough away to be quiet and relaxing.
Guests smoking everywhere around us is a definite minus for people who don"t smoke. A designated area for smokers, or non smokers, would be a great advantage.
Good location, friendly reception, nice pool area
Slightly tired, dated. no duvet cover, TV did not work, breakfast average.
Nice location. Taxi nearby and points of interest within walking distance. The buffet was nice. Spectacle for free on certain days.
Restaurant menu can be boring. The passages to the rooms was dark.
Marrakech is a very busy city. The hotel is in the centre of the medina but it offers you an oasis of peace and quietness. Breakfast is fine. You can eat in the garden if you like. We had lunch for 2 times in the hotel and that was good too.The garden is lovely, the rooms are clean, the pool is great. Price/quality is very good. Women at the reception are very helpfull.
Not much to do in the hotel in the evening. The bar is boring. And it would have been nice if the hotel had a bit more Maroc details in the interieur.
