Located a 10-minute walk from Koutoubia Mosque, Riad Dar El Assafir offers an indoor swimming pool with deckchairs, a library and Moroccan lounge with a fireplace. The Medina is a 13-minute walk away....
Score from 99 reviews Very good
The location was convienent for walking or taxi. The pool was nice, relaxing
The room was small, AC wasn't working well, the room had an odor. The sheets weren't clean, Sorry but I will not be staying there, the next time i'm in maroc
Loved the location and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Plus side was no children maybe because of the time of year. Very good for a short break.
Hammam was basis but girl was good. Would use a different establishment next time.
Hotel a short walk from market and souks. Lovely pool and good breakfast. Most of staff friendly and helpful.
This hotel is a well priced gem within a stones throw of the medina. It's friendly but quiet and staff are great. It's not, as other reports I've seen would suggest, unfriendly towards non French speakers. In fact, far from it. They will go the extra mile to do their best for you. Rest assured. This is probably one of the most honest and genuine reviews you will read on here. We have our own house in Marrakech, but like to have a couple of days to relax before diving in. As seasoned travellers to Morocco, (29 years this year. ) I really rate this place and thoroughly recommend it.
Have been trying to rack my brains, but can't think of anything.
The pool at Chems was lovely, especially when the weather became very hot . Location was fantastic near to erything, but just far enough away to be quiet and relaxing.
Guests smoking everywhere around us is a definite minus for people who don"t smoke. A designated area for smokers, or non smokers, would be a great advantage.
Good location, friendly reception, nice pool area
Slightly tired, dated. no duvet cover, TV did not work, breakfast average.
Nice location. Taxi nearby and points of interest within walking distance. The buffet was nice. Spectacle for free on certain days.
Restaurant menu can be boring. The passages to the rooms was dark.
Marrakech is a very busy city. The hotel is in the centre of the medina but it offers you an oasis of peace and quietness. Breakfast is fine. You can eat in the garden if you like. We had lunch for 2 times in the hotel and that was good too.The garden is lovely, the rooms are clean, the pool is great. Price/quality is very good. Women at the reception are very helpfull.
Not much to do in the hotel in the evening. The bar is boring. And it would have been nice if the hotel had a bit more Maroc details in the interieur.
Pool and garden with sunbeds to relax after days out
Some staff unfriendly and no translations into English for room details such as safe, washing etc
All the spaces at the hotel is good like pool and others.
If you are French don't need read this feedback but if you aren't don't go at this hotel because everything is in French and we had to communicate in body signs! I asked in the reception toilet papers and after 5 min was the plumber at my door, my girlfriend asked a spoon and they gave to her a glass. I'll repeat if you are a French you can go without thinking twice but if you are not choose another one cause even the camel man in the desert speaks English!
The location and pool are fantastic. Some staff were very helpful patient to help us as we struggled with French
Facilities were really dated, smelled of smoke and were really hot. Hotel staff would just walk in to our room to clean/change towels without knocking which was really odd.
Good location. close to all the hype
Small rooms. not maintained very well
Said great waiter.
Pool Breakfast is varied
Paid wifi Bedroom not very confortable Old facilities
Location is of primary importance, and hotel's matched my expectancy.
Staff not fluent in english, you better learn french. Although I believe that one should always know a bit and learn a bit of local language.
Location: with in 10 to 15 minutes walk to most of the attractions Staff: friendly and try to help although they don't speak English. Price is reasonable
Fairly average decor, rooms can be noisy, wifi may or may not work, airconditioning struggles plenty of ants in the rooms on the ground floor, breakfast is very basic and few things run out by 9 am, crockery with cracked edges and shortage of spoons
Staff is rude and unhelpful,
Definitely what only counts for this hotel to be a place I would recommend is the nice garden, swimming pool and location. The restaurant staff are friendly and although English is not well spoken, they do their best. The food is not bad but not impressive.
The staff at the front desk is pretty much unprofessional, not willing to help - specially a lady (guess she is french, slim, gray short hair) who is absolutely rude and does not make you feel welcome on your arrival at all. French and Arabic language only. No English at the reception. The hotel facilities are very old with broken shower hooks (I had to keep holding the shower), old furniture, etc. Need a renovation urgently! Be aware that the Mosque speakers are next to the hotel, so you will hear the prayer calls about 05:30.
Central location Outside area & pool Nice rooms Clean Parking area
The staff were all very helpful and friendly
Nice hotel and the jama al fna is realy close! Internet is good in reception in te rooms sometime!
The staff are unprofessional. The two women on the front desk were having a huge, angry and loud argument while a number of guests waited for their attention - including us. This is so unprofessional and I have never seen anything like this before - anywhere. When we were finally checked in we were taken to a room which had two workmen painting the balcony. The room stank of paint. We asked for another room and the angry woman on the reception desk said we had to come back "later" as no rooms were ready. (There was no apology for us - just more anger). Their English was non-existant and it took a while to actually understand that they were actually giving us another room. It was about 3pm at this time, and we had to wait for over an hour for another room to be prepared. Nobody told us the room was ready, we found out for ourselves by looking at the room to see if the clearner had gone. The two angry women had left at this point and the new man on the front desk had no idea who we were and that we had been waiting. The wifi was extremely slow and the food mediocre.
Great location, very quiet and only 10 mins walk to the main square
Extra charge to use safe
Hotel room is very poor like 2* hotel. Staff is good
Good + Quiet Location - close (10 min. walk) to "Djemaa el fna" in neighbourhood to luxury "La Mounia" - Hotel, Very nice pool, Breakfast Buffet (an assortment of fresh Vegetable Juices)
a little bit hard to conversate with reception staff without skills of French language !
