The Naoura Barrière is spread over a beautiful garden landscape, centrally located in Marrakesh near the heart of the medina (historic quarter). It offers a peaceful setting and luxury facilities.
Score from 395 reviews Wonderful
This guesthouse is a 10-minute walk from Jemaa El-Fna Square. It offers free Wi-Fi, a patio with a plunge pool and a rooftop, shaded terrace with views of the Marrakech Medina. The property has a spa....
Score from 250 reviews Wonderful
In front of Marrakech Train Station and the city’s Royal Theatre, this stylish hotel provides an outdoor swimming pool, 3 restaurants, a nightclub and free Wi-Fi in all areas of the property.
Score from 511 reviews Very good
Just a 5 minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square and Koutoubia Mosque, this stylish riad dates from the 19th century and combines Moroccan and Andalusian architecture.
Score from 30 reviews Very good
Such a fantastic traditional hotel in a brilliant location. All the staff were great, really clean and such a relaxed environment. The 3 restaurants were brilliant and the pools were both great. The location of being just a 1 minute walk to the main square and suoks was just brilliant! Amazing stay and we'd definitely go back
The piano bar was lovely and is the only place to go for a relaxing drink before dinner, it was such a shame that the man playing the piano wasn't very good (being polite!) And it ruined the atmosphere. That was the only slightly negative thing about the whole stay.
I very much liked the location of the hotel. It is not the usual international 5* that one would expect. It doesn't have a mile long front walk to reach to the entrance but a beatiful work of art entrance door hidden between the souk style street shops. When you step into the fairytale you can enjoy the mint tea that you are offered in the lobby. The staff is friendly. There is an easy access to the facilities like the gym, spa and roof top pool. The location is just 2 min walk away from the famous jemaa el fna and the mosque. On my next stay I most probably choose the same hotel again.
The wifi connection is not the best but enough to get your emails and msgs. A white hugo boss t-shirt of mine vanished from the room. Although I did not make a fuss this should not have happened in a 5* accomodation.
This was our second visit and its location is still its selling point. Very close to the souks and main square, with a good local feel.
It's more of a four than five star inside, with all the red carpets and curtains looking a bit jaded. The food was more basic than last time, and we suspected the tagines were reheated. But the pool area is still lovely and staff welcoming.
Had a lovely room, huge comfortable bed scattered with rose petals on our arrival. Beautiful bathroom although did have some plumbing issues!
My daughter & I wanted a really special holiday and we certainly got it at Les Jardins de la Koutoubia - it's in a fantasic location just minures away from the souks and all the action. Room was lovely ( I think they upgrade us at no extra charge!) - very Moroccan decor - my daughter said it is the best hotel room she has ever stayed in! Hotel facilities excellent, with 2 pools, good restuarants,Spa, and all staff gave superb service - nothing was too much trouble! Would not hesitate to stay here agian! Highly recommended. - Oh and don;t forget the special, gorgeous touch of the rose petails in your room every day!
Nothing - everything was good!
Location, cleanliness & friendly staff.
No Parking, terrible traffic, takes forever just to get out to the main road.
Beautiful historic building. Amazing suite. Great breakfast. Very attentive staff. Will definitely return in the spring.
Finding the room was a chore. This hotel is like a labyrinth but this adds charm.
Spa and gym was closing at 8:00pm! So you were not able to enjoy hamam and get warm and relaxed after the whole day trip in and around Marrakech. For the price of the room, espresso machine shall be inside, or at least kettle with coffee/tea
We arrived and soon as we stepped into the lobby we thought we had walked into the wrong hotel. Dirty Red carpets with awful dated decor that needs a major overhaul. We thought we would excuse the lobby in the hope the room would be better. We got a pool view room, it was like being in the 70's again very poor quality in decor and dated, with a horrible bed / mattress and bedding. Internet was not useable, too slow to do anything. We went back downstairs and spoke to the duty manager, we were told this was a different "category / type " of five star compared to International brand hotels. That made us laugh, they said we could not compare it to the Sofitel or one of the hotels in the new city. We were told this was more like a Riad. We had just stayed in a lovely Riad for 3 nights at a quarter of the cost, if I rated the Riad a 4 star, this would be 1. Anyway we got the number of the Sofitel hotel , booked a room and moved there. Off course we still had to pay for this hotel. I do feel that booking.com was at fault for listing this hotel in this way. Anyway if you want a 2star hotel in a good central location near the square then this is for you. But you could get a lovely clean Riad for much less, or stay on one of the 4 or 5 stars that actually are !
Location Restaurants Fast service Breakfast
On arrival I was told they had a double room. I said I had asked for a twin. Was then shown two rooms to choose from. One was awful and in the depths of the hotel. The other and the one I chose was amazing! I shouldn't have been put through that.
The staff were super friendly and helpful and were very accommodating to meet our requests. The hotel was clean and comfortable and room were a very good size and good value for money. It's any easy to find hotel and will never get lost in the labyrinth of the Medina to get back. Highly recommend.
Proximity to most of the places of interest and the restaurant Les Jardins de Bala
Congested approach to the hotel
Perfect location, great pools.
VERY slow and disorganised service at breakfast
My wife and I, together with our kids (13, 15) and their grandparents spent 7 days in this great hotel. We had a wonderful time. It's an oase of luxury in the great madness of the Medina. We had fine diners in both the Indian and the French restaurant. The main pool in the patio was great and brought excellent refreshment with good service. Massages and Hamman / scrub are excellent and prices are reasonable. So why going through the hassle of finding something else for a few euro's less? Just check out the beautiful Spa and swimming pool in the basement of the hotel.
The hotel could use a serious overhaul, however that might take away the charm. The pool on the roof is small and out-dated. Staff reacted adequately on our request (malfunction of airco and fridge). And where do you find silent airconditioners? Nowhere. So switch it off or use ear-plugs.
Everything was absolutely perfect!! Great atmosphere, wonderful building, staff people Very friendly so as professional;.excellent restaurants SPA excellent.
This is an incredible hotel, right next to the Jamaa El Fnaa. Upon arrival , we were upgraded. The hotel itself is spectacular. If you are expecting a hotel with all glass and chrome and modern fittings throughout, then stick to Las Vegas or Dubai. This is Marrakech.
Location and Room...
It's not recommended for muslim, during check in the staff promised to give extended hours for Jum'ah prayer, but when the time come, he said the manager not allow my family to stay in the room, so we have to check out early......pork is also served in breakfast, big pictures of half naked woman is hanging on the wall....if you bring children find other hotels.
The staff were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a suite so that we could get a balcony and it was worth it!
Beautiful design and the spa is spectacular. Had a nice massage. Room is very spacious as is the bathroom.
We had a number of facility related issues. No cold water in the shower, had to call the maintenance guy to fix. The light over the bed did not shut off so we had to remove the room card to disconnect all power to the room which also disconnects the air. It was late in the night and we were not in the mood to call maintenance a 3rd time. The transfer to the airport is not included so expect to pay extra to get to the airport. Went for dinner in the French restaurant and none of the 3 fish options were available. The front entrance to the hotel is very crowded with cars which makes it difficult for cars to come in and pick you up. Overall we expected more for a 4 star hotel.
The staff was extremely professional and friendly. The food was great. The roses bouquets all around the hotel were beautiful. There was a lot of attention to the rose petals arrangements set on the beds daily. The Spa was relaxing as well as both swimming pools. This was a little piece of heaven.
The room was nicely appointed with rose petals every day
Medina view means a room onto a busy and noisy Street and the view is just a few dirty and old buildings across without any charming Breakfast other tan moroccan pancakes has no variety and very few salty dishes Elevator gets very busy at rush hour times
Location Ambience Attentiveness of staff
atmosphere, green and calm oasis in the city centre, garden restaurant
at times difficult to find your way through the hotel interior
the swimming pools and the location right into the medina is fantastic, rooms are big and comfotabel... it really is an oasis in the middle of busy marrakech, it is truly exceptional, next to the souks and square Jamaa el Fna , old times "colonial style" -traditional 5 star hotel ... great staff !!
- a bit worn down, needs some renovations, refurbishing for the modern standards of a 5 star hotel - slow wifi
