Great location, gorgeous sunsets every evening. The food exceeded my expectations having travelled to similar resorts in Cuba in the past. The rooms are exceptionally clean and spacious (they even managed to make the face towels smell like vanilla), staff was very courteous.
Wifi was not reliable in the bedrooms. This really is a family hotel - that means lots of children, especially in the pool area. I would say great family hotel, but if you're looking for peace or a honeymoon spot I would suggest elsewhere.
Nice hotel with a lot of activities and nice restaurants.
Staff telling us that gym opens at 9.30am (opening times of all other facilities are mentioned in key card booklet, except for the gym so asked reception staff), so I thought pity, I can't go before my meetings, only to find out it is open early. Also, they gave us (me+ colleague) rooms with connecting doors that were wide open on arrival, pretty awkward...and very noisy. You can do that with families, not with business travellers please!
Food choice Proximity, cleanliness and facilities on the beach Friendly and helpful staff
Beach view and direct access Large room and good bed Good gym
Food price absurd - they know it is difficult to go anywhere else Decor of room was boring/not existing
- Pool is amazing. - Music band at night bar. - Spacious rooms. - Welcoming staff. - Security of hotel. - Food at buffet. - Free Wifi
- Location is a bit quite far from everywhere. - No water valve in toilet (Disaster, But hotel managed a cattle). - Wifi is weak at rooms. - mosquitos, Frogs, bla bla (But that's the nature of the island so it's everywhere - Simply to travel to an island if you don't like that). - Too much corals in water !
I loved the water sports, food was great I truely loved it,definetly worth my money.
I dont like you charging for drinking water at the restaurant I dint like my room it had two beds and the big one was two beds combined.
I love this hotel cuz the service and design of the pool, it is so beautiful that forest and ocean landscape!! Breakfast is really nice.
The place is quite far not easy to go out and look around but it is ok cuz the beautiful beach
Friendly staff, breakfast buffet was very nice and for the price and size of room, it was worth the price.
Getting in and out of the hotel could be difficult. Not enough directional aids.
Clean and spacious rooms
Restaurant choices is rather limited. The Italian and seafood restaurants were fully booked and small. Room service menu reads more like a pool or barside menu. Given its location, expanding basic food items will be great
It was possible to snorkel right in front of the hotel, which was pretty awesome I had read complaints about there being corals and stones in the sea and therefore water shoes were advised. We chose the hotel because of the possibility to snorkel and the fact that I could not put my feet down while snorkelling was not a big issue at all. The gym was very good for a hotel gym and I used it several times. Food was lovely and plentiful.
Prices food and drinks in this resort were very expensive compared to restaurants outside the resort. Unfortunately, there were no shops or other restaurants within a decent walking distance. Clearly, the expectation is that guests have book full board and therefore everything will be consumed in the hotel bar and restaurants. The staff tried to sell the full board package a few times although we were not interested. Additionally, they would not let any other taxi service to come and pick us up from the main entrance, but we had to walk few hundred meters to the security gate. However, I was quite happy to walk considering that they asked 1400 for their taxi service to Grand Bay (we paid to our regular driver 500 one way).
Great atmosphere, location - you can feel that people enjoy their work making you feel very welcome ... Big thank you to all members of staff and the same time congratulations to General Manager Lothar Gross for having a such a team of wonderful people ...it was really long 12h flight with ours 1.5 &4.5 old kids but we can not regret it ! Thank you
The stuff was very friendly and helpful. The food (breakfast & dinner package, buffet) was tasty, wide variety, very nice... The location of the Hotel is very good, with lots of free activities. It is pefect for families with (small) children... The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is very clean & nice... Highly recommended overall! :o)
Difficulties with Business services (very slow computers & internet) + had to pay for it... There were lots of ants, but that is the nature of the island, has to live with it or don't go there...
The staff was excellent, very kind and helpful.
The location of the hotel right on the beach is a major attraction. The facilities available are fantastic. A whole host of free watersport activities together with others that are at an additional cost but all accessible within the confines of the resort. If you have a few sporting ethusiasts in your mix there are lots of activities to keep you busy-floodlit tennis courts, beach soccer, beach volleyball and then indoor activities like table tennis and access to the gym.
The cost of food and drink for a south african family is in my view astronomical! The buffet dinner is 1000 Rupees per person and in my opinion not fantastic and certainly not value for money. You will pay 90 Rupees for any soft drink of 330ml and water of 1L. A small pino colada is 380 Rupees. 2 malibus and coke cost us 770 Rupees. We had room service for most of our evening meals which was initially decided on by our daughter's bed time but in hindsight these were better value for money and quite tasty.
Really enjoyed the stay the only thing we didn't like we're the charge for the water otherwise everything else was great water sports and all
Location was awesome and the Beach and swimming areas were excellent
All the prices are way over stated, value for what is available is over rated. Guests are to bound to what is available to eat, the resurants are not worth the money for a meal.
Liked the room and proximity to the beach.
Vegetarian food is bad. Choice of food is also very poor. Rooms are too far and spaced out.
