Snorkelling...but bear on our own no complimentary fr resort
Good facilities inc sports centre, golf course, tv room to watch world sport, 2 local restaurants just outside resort if you want a change in food and self contained bungalows on the beach
Disorganised ferry operator. 3 hour delay waiting at Mersing ferry terminal prior to making 1.5hr ocean crossing to Tioman Isl and similar chaos on return crossing.
Leisure with kids is a recommended place to go as it's relaxing
Internet access needs improvement
breakfast expensive; old bath; communicaton from personal;
The beauty, the tranquillity of this Island and the hotel Infrastructure.
Sunrise and sunset and of course the view
The room does not provide any toothbrush inside but you can get It from housekeeping
food, beach, rooms and the nature
internet Wifi, very poor. only at reception and very slow
Very well situated, on a beautiful beach, large room. Good organisation : free transfert to the hotel from the boat arrival. I recommend this hotel without any reserve.
Restaurant quite expensive and breakfast not so good. There are 2 small restaurant at the entrance of the hotel where you can take convenient breakfast and have nice lunch with excellent fish.
site location and long beach
very big hotel small swimming pools vs. the nb of clients
The hotel grounds, rooms and gardens were beautiful and the location on the beach was paradise. The pool is great, loved the warnings about sandflies and provision of insect repellent was very thoughtful. Great band and we loved them singing to guests at dinner time.
1. having to wait half an hour for the bus to come to the ferry that wouldn't have come if I hadn't called reception to chase up. If we had known it was going to take so long we would have taken a taxi. 2. staff are not attententive and need training in table service. Lots of staff and yet we had to wave someone down for everything; drinks, food orders or bills. 3. Google the cocktails on the bar menu and learn how to make them. They were a huge let down as the bar tender doesn't understand the basics of mixology 4. Wifi is a joke - you cannot download or upload anything and the signal cuts in and out. To say there is a 'cyber cafe' is a huge stretch of the imagination - you should describe it acurately as 'a frustratingly slow and wildly intermitent signal in one small area of the hotel'. 5. you lose much of your custom to the local shops due to the 70% mark-up on everything. 6. put some kind of treatment system on the waste water pipe going straight into the river/ocean near the entrance to the hotel. The smell was terrible and will do nothing to preserve the beautiful marine life.
Big territory, good location, great staff, meals excellent, pool and facilities
Too expensive & it's without breakfast. 1st time paid a hotel this price without breakfast. Rooms are old. Staff are not very friendly.
Island & location of hotel
This hotel is just not worth the money. The beds are too short (~1.8m in length), the Internet is so bad you can't even check Emails, the prices charged for food and drinks are in comparison to other places way too high and the staff/service is the worst I experienced in my whole life.
Very clean and spacious chalet near the beach. Very friendly staff. Convenient is the possibility to eat A La Carte beside the buffet for such people like me. The invoice was correct at the end of the stay - and we had no "sandflies experiences".
1. Clean, private beaches (very little litter) 2. Many water sports and activities available 3. Friendly staff 4. Good beach bar 5. Incredibly fast room service 6. Plenty of beach/lounge chairs and towels 7. BBQ buffet 3x/week
1. Restaurants were hit or miss (occasional sanitation issues) 2. Feral cats wandering in restaurant 3. Dirty plates and silverware in buffet 4. Expensive alcohol 5. Pasta buffet
Beach chalet was amazing Smaller pool was nice to relax next to, children's pool too busy but if you have kids great The Indian restuarant was excellent, so much better than the main one with its mass catered buffet and rude staff
Location- it's a resort so in the middle of no where Restaurant- food is pretty poor but the Indian restuarant is excellent Loud karaoke until 12pm every night at bar
Installations Rooms Beach Restaurant (Buffet is very good)
A little bit expensive (especially bike rent given the situation of the hotel) Diving center: sometimes booked by cruisih boats excursions - no priority to guests
Stayed right on the beach. Beach bar before the music started!
Pointlessly noisy beach bar. It's location and ambience were wonderful, then for some reason they put on loud music, so you can't even hear the sea lapping. NOT a good way to watch the otherwise wonderful sunset. If I stayed again, I'd ask them not to do that in advance!
Location; the resort is big so it's great for big strolls; piece and quiet despite the many guests.
The rooms have never been renovated, whatever we touched seemed to be collapsing or not working properly, no maintenance at all; we had to change room as the shower was completely broken down; no safe / blow dryers for the standard chalets. Facilities looked old and abandoned; swimming pool is tiny for the number of guests the hotel receives. There was no music at the bar by the beach at night, so dull to have a drink. Few long chairs to lie on the beach, with rubbish around the umbrellas and no one there to clean the cans and butts inconsiderate guests left behind. We had to throw them in the bins ourselves. Overall, we felt it was a lifeless resort, no ambience, no effort by the management or the staff to prove they worth what they charge.
Quite pricey for a country like Malaysia but you get what you pay for.
Great superior room, staff in general was very friendly (not at the reception desk however), tasty food. Good place to relax after traveling around in Malaysia.
Restaurant staff, mainly the gents from Nepal were fantastic. A very big difference from the rest of staff. A la carte food in restaurant was good, buffet was average. Games room was good, but no staff ever on duty, materials not updated, some damaged.
Staff attitude in reception, very abrupt and not efficient not organised. Check-in and check-out very disorganised. Our request for two rooms, one king one twin with NO FEATHERS on beds was never met. We ended up with two room, both twins all with feather pillows. No bus service into small town, except when ferry arrives/departs and taxi for short ride very expensive (MYR40 one way). Beach full of sand flies and resort full of mosquitos.
Very nice place where you easily can stay for weeks.
They have to increase the level of maintenance for the full resort. It is a pitty to see the way down of this resort within a few years if maintenance and reinvestments dont take place.
