Score from 30 reviews Wonderful
- beautiful sea view (508 room - standard chalet) - fantastic location for snorkeling - possibility to rent a kayak - close to Renggis Island - private beach - nice breafasts (delicious food, but high prices)
- high prices at the restaurant - mosquitoes in the beach
everything i like a lot in this resort. only i should mention they need little more cleanliness inside room as well as washroom.
Room was beautiful. Resort is pretty. Coriander seeds restaurant food was delicious. The facilities are user friendly and easily accessible.
Wifi in public places only. Food was not good. Toilet took ages to flush. The ferry needs some organisation. People pushing in. No real system.
good location nice pool good private beach
room could be cleaner needs revamping. Service could be better. Expensive place
Beautiful location with clear blue waters and interesting diving close by. Staff at the main part of the resort helpful and friendly.
The staff in the diving centre were off hand and our adult son pulled out of an advanced diving course for this reason. Also be careful of the vicious sandflies at sundown when you are on the beach.
Everything is excellent
Nothing bad there
food is ridiculous, the restaurants are overpriced and there are only two options. we had a frozen paddy burger which was not cooked properly!
Snorkelling...but bear on our own no complimentary fr resort
Good facilities inc sports centre, golf course, tv room to watch world sport, 2 local restaurants just outside resort if you want a change in food and self contained bungalows on the beach
Disorganised ferry operator. 3 hour delay waiting at Mersing ferry terminal prior to making 1.5hr ocean crossing to Tioman Isl and similar chaos on return crossing.
Leisure with kids is a recommended place to go as it's relaxing
Internet access needs improvement
TV with movie channels. Two restaurants just outside the resort serve good food with a fraction of the price in the resort.
The rooms are very old, should be renovated asap. There were ants in the bathroom which is unacceptable in this price scale of a resort. Rooms are way too expensive for what you get. Food in the restaurants was expensive compared to the rest of the Malaysia. And only two restaurants of the six advertised were actually open and there was no mention on this prior booking. WIFI sucked, there was not really any WIFI even in the lobby area. The beach is not that nice at all as it's advertised. It's full of sand flies which means you can't really be on the beach at all, even with insect repellent. The resort is also full of mosquitoes and there is jellyfish in the ocean. All in all, not worth the trip and the cost. The resort is also a quite a walk away from the village and no shuttle service exist other than to the jetty when taking the boat.
Very big clean beatiful beach. Close to Renghis island with beatiful corals. Water is very clean too. Sometimes you'll be able to see monkeys and giant lizards. Big territory, own golf course. Good spa and sport attractions (pools and kayak) Close to the Tekek village, so it's easy to go there for lunch. There are some duty free shops with cheap alcohol in the village.
Wifi works only at the reception and the speed is very low. If you want to get higher speed you'll have to go before 9 am or in the midday. The restaurant is very expensive but the food quality isn't good enough.
The resort is really nice, beautiful flora. lots of activities, excursions. food is good, 3 restaurants. The little island just in front of the resort is perfect for snorkelling, probably the best place to do it on Tioman. We had a delux sea view room, which was very big and nice.
Expensive food, activities and excursions. The beach was disappointing: it's very big with palm trees but sand is yellow and the sea is not what you expect from Malaysia (Perhentian islands are much better). lots of sand flies that bite you - you have to sit on sunbeds (there are a lot there).
breakfast expensive; old bath; communicaton from personal;
The beauty, the tranquillity of this Island and the hotel Infrastructure.
Sunrise and sunset and of course the view
The room does not provide any toothbrush inside but you can get It from housekeeping
food, beach, rooms and the nature
internet Wifi, very poor. only at reception and very slow
Very well situated, on a beautiful beach, large room. Good organisation : free transfert to the hotel from the boat arrival. I recommend this hotel without any reserve.
Restaurant quite expensive and breakfast not so good. There are 2 small restaurant at the entrance of the hotel where you can take convenient breakfast and have nice lunch with excellent fish.
site location and long beach
very big hotel small swimming pools vs. the nb of clients
The hotel grounds, rooms and gardens were beautiful and the location on the beach was paradise. The pool is great, loved the warnings about sandflies and provision of insect repellent was very thoughtful. Great band and we loved them singing to guests at dinner time.
1. having to wait half an hour for the bus to come to the ferry that wouldn't have come if I hadn't called reception to chase up. If we had known it was going to take so long we would have taken a taxi. 2. staff are not attententive and need training in table service. Lots of staff and yet we had to wave someone down for everything; drinks, food orders or bills. 3. Google the cocktails on the bar menu and learn how to make them. They were a huge let down as the bar tender doesn't understand the basics of mixology 4. Wifi is a joke - you cannot download or upload anything and the signal cuts in and out. To say there is a 'cyber cafe' is a huge stretch of the imagination - you should describe it acurately as 'a frustratingly slow and wildly intermitent signal in one small area of the hotel'. 5. you lose much of your custom to the local shops due to the 70% mark-up on everything. 6. put some kind of treatment system on the waste water pipe going straight into the river/ocean near the entrance to the hotel. The smell was terrible and will do nothing to preserve the beautiful marine life.
Big territory, good location, great staff, meals excellent, pool and facilities
Too expensive & it's without breakfast. 1st time paid a hotel this price without breakfast. Rooms are old. Staff are not very friendly.
Island & location of hotel
This hotel is just not worth the money. The beds are too short (~1.8m in length), the Internet is so bad you can't even check Emails, the prices charged for food and drinks are in comparison to other places way too high and the staff/service is the worst I experienced in my whole life.
Very clean and spacious chalet near the beach. Very friendly staff. Convenient is the possibility to eat A La Carte beside the buffet for such people like me. The invoice was correct at the end of the stay - and we had no "sandflies experiences".
