Was at the hotel in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake so eating was very basic and I'm sure not at all representative of usual service.
Staff were superb. Decor was unusual and delightful. Location is not the best- one had to be on search of the bazaar type environment.

we booked the Deluxe Double that was nice and large but we expected higher standard from a 150$ a night room
The building was nice and location was good

Staff were very lovely and good organic food

This was the most expensive hotel in Káthmándú we were... Another hotels with boldly lower prices were including more services and were more gentle... And had hot water.

Breakfast was not included, and the food was expensive. You can eat for $3-4 a person at most places in the country, but breakfast cost us $10 each. The food was not that great either. Our other hotels that we paid $60-90 a night for included breakfast, as well as transportation if needed to the airport. Kantipur Temple included neither. The staff was not friendly, nor were they helpful. They offered yoga in the morning but it was next to a huge generator- nothing peaceful about that. Also, they did not include shampoo or conditioner in their rooms and the hot water barely worked. The shower was also just a small drizzle, and didn't work nearly as well as our other hotels' showers did. The rooms are dark and dreary. The bedroom had two windows into the hallway and the hall lights were left on all night- with the light blaring into our room as we tried to sleep. At least they begrudgingly turned the lights off for us the second night when we asked. This hotel is not worth the money. You can find much better quality for much cheaper in this same area!
There were two nice things about this hotel. First, the location was nice. It is in Thamel, the tourist district of Kathmandu, but it's off the main roads so it's nice and quiet. Second, the hotel decor is beautiful! It's a very aesthetically pleasing room.

Area outside hotel still being developed. Roads can be very muddy after rain. Lonely entrance around back of main street .
A beautifully restored hotel. Every effort has gone in to it. Lovely garden area. Staff friendly and eager to please.

Shut of electricity and the warming facility is not working.
The decoration and finishing of the building.

On top of dark room (actually, no 'garden view' what so ever) with poor, aging facilities, the most disastrous thing we encountered here was that my Nepali companion was initially rejected to stay - because he was a Nepalese! Afterwards, they somehow changed their mind, but they didn't even apologize us. I would strongly recommend everyone not to choose this hotel until their unfair policy gets changed.

Kathmandu has an electric problem: electricity is cut several hours a day. So you have to plan your hot showers accordingly. We were there end February, don't forget your pullover. The hotel provides electric blanket and the staff cares for a deliciously heated bed.
A beautiful architecture, nicely situated ni Thamel, central, but very quiet in a small street. Our room was beautiful, restaurant excellent. The staff is more than friendly and helps you (Thank you Suman forhe nice chats on the terrace)

Frequent power outages some lasting 6-8 hours. They don't use generator as often as they could. Cold showers, very noisy echoey hallways. Padlock doors are very noisy and woke me up every time someone entered their room. For price I expect hot water and 24 hr power
Traditional architecture, quiet location, good food. Most of the staff is polite and helpful

the room is bad ,
the temple is quite beautiful building .

The negative points to be stressed out are that online there is no mentioning that due to the eco friendly attitude of the hotel there is no electricity on a 24 hour basis but at least you are given a schedule of the electricity so that you know which is the best time to shower with hot water. Also there are no fire extinguishers at least as far as we looked in case of a fire, bare in mind that this is a beautiful traditional nepali hotel with wooden floors and wood details on the ceilings.
Kantimpur Temple House was a good choice for Thamel Kathmandu Nepal. The staff was very friendly and helpfull and the room was very clean. The hotel is run with an eco friendly attitude which we appreciated sincerely the location is perfect giving you the opportunity to move around.

Absolutely nothing to write here.
Food was delicious -- staff was extremely attentive -- thanks to Suman and Binesh for being great hosts at the hotel. Staff was so accommodating to all of our needs (arranged private driver (request Ramm - he's amazing), tourist/sight questions, etc. Manager also allowed us to use 2 of our lost nights due to flight cancellations prior to arriving at hotel. Definitely will stay here again -- hopefully, soon.

Rooms a little cold, although this was in early February - the cool would be a bonus later in the year!
Friendly, helpful staff, nice gardens with outside seating, atmospheric building.

a bit expensive for Nepal
thick mattress, hot water bottle in the bed at night, big room (deluxe), quiet place, real temple look and feel

Wifi was weak in our room, though good in the public areas.
One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The architectural details in th public areas and in our room were exquisite. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful, even when we had to cancel a night. Location is right in Thamel, but on a side street that is a bit quieter than the chaotic thoroughfare.

In Winter season, lack of electricity is a bit of suvival experience...If you have a hot water pot service, that is highly appreciated.
Histrical, beautiful architecture and friendly, supportive staff.

Expensive breaksfest ( better take in another place), they forgot to pick us up in the airport (after we have free shuttle to Drop off in airport). One day without hot shower ( because of rainy day - no sunlight to heat water). They charge 4% for Credit card payment.
Looks like a Tourist point, very beautiful hotel (same as pictures), very cosy room with nice view. Hot water bags and eletric blankets

The breakfast was too pricey and too classic.
