Very friendly and helpful owners. Great location, in the historical part of Funchal, at walking distance from the centre of the town and from all the public transports to go anywhere in Madeira. Unimpaired view an the Atlantic Ocean from the large terrace. (Also, always handy, a supermarket nearby)

I thought that this pension was one of the best I have stayed in. The staff were attentive. The breakfast was excellent and more freshly cooked than a 5 star hotel. The cleanliness was extremely good. The view brilliant. The proximity to the city centre - a stones throw. The water was hot.

Pleasant friendly reception, clean rooms, plentiful good food and a relaxed atmosphere. The family who run the pensao speak good English and are very helpful. Near to the centre of Funchal but not too noisy. .Very reasonably priced and excellent value for money. Probably should have chosen room on lower floor as there is no lift. Also the rooms at the front of the pensao are more spacious with better views Next time, and we hope there will be a next time, we might try to secure one of these. Not far from central Funchal but up a bit of a steep hill. However, as all Funchal is up or down hill, steep gradients are impossible to avoid!

Husband and wife run B&B. Very friendly and helpful. Clean and quiet with 10min walk through pleasant back streets to Funchal town center (and buses). Advise pre-booking taxi from airport for 20 euros, otherwise 30 euros.

Owners were really friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned every day. Fresh breakfast with a small cake for every morning. Vila is very close to Funchal centre. It takes 10-15 mins to get there. Sea side is also in a short distance. Maybe an iron with an ironboard. But it's not that relevant.

Wonderful location; few minutes walk to city centre/buses/promenade/restaurants. Augostinho and Caterina were very friendly and efficient and gave us lots of good holiday advice. Our room at the top of the house had a balcony and view which we enjoyed. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice - eggs, toast, rolls, jams, cheese, ham - and set us up very well for a day's walking on the levadas. Our en-suite bathroom could do with modernising sometime.

Our room was on the upper floor with our own balcony. Probably the best room of the hotel. That was great! Personal made us feel like home.

Very conveniently located with a short walk into the town. Owners are friendly and helpful. Accommodation is fairly basic but completely adequate and room was clean and comfortable. A communal fridge was provided so that guests could storie their own drinks etc and whilst a kettle was provided in the room there was no tea or coffee so bring your own. All in all very good value for such a centrally located hotel.

We really enjoyed our week at this friendly family run b n b; the owner and his wife made us very welcome, and were able to answer any questions. They provided the best breakfast I have ever had in a similar pension/hotel, and I am 65 years old!! My poor old joints are still recovering from the gradients and steps everywhere, but this little gem has a lovely location, overlooking the harboyr, and a delightful terrace where you can recover after the exertions!

It"s what I would call a family run buisness, our room was kept clean and tidy at all times, the land lord and land lady made you feel like apart of the family, the breakfast was ample especially If your not a first meal of the day person,I would highly recommend Vila Teresinha It"s In the perfect location not too far away or too near from the city centre, quiet location and you were given a key so as to come and go as you pleased which was a big bonus for us!

This is a true gem. The price of stay is very reasonable, the rooms are basic but comfortable. You get access to wireless internet, microwave, fridge. In case you need to copy or print anything, the owners will be happy to oblige. The breakfast is good continental one. They also have a terrace where you can sit in the evening and observe the ocean and the city, a very nice panoramic view. The location is very nice, just a short walk to Funchal centre and to a street where you find restaurants, as well as to shopiing centres. In conclusion, a great place to stay. Everything was just perfect. Maybe the bathroom needs a bit of renovation.

The owners were friendly and helpful. It had very useful facilities such as communal fridge, microwave, internet etc. Restaurants, supermarket, baker and some of the best museums were nearby. The breakfasts were excellent. It has a big terrace with a fine view. It is a steep 10 minute walk up to the hotel along increasingly narrow pavements. The hotel is on a road and does get traffic noise.
