Very quiet and privileged location, with stunning sea views, this villa offers comfort and refinement with all amenities for a dream vacation.The triplex house has a cozy atmosphere with a beautiful living room, TV room, 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen and balconies with amazing sea views on all floors. Garajau is located on the sunny, dry, southern coast of Madeira, the Garajau Penthouse is situated in the fashionable district of Garajau, midway between the airport, and the capital, Funchal. Taxi journey time to both is just 15 – 20 minutes. Garajau has long been known to be one of Madeira’s high class residential areas and is named after the black-headed sea birds, terns, which nest in the cliffs. Garajau’s high street combines the Hotel Dom Pedro Garajau on one side of the road and a bank (Barclays), a multitude of shops, bakeries, coffee shops, ice cream shop, a few patisseries and medium sized well stocked mini-markets with ATM outside, several restaurants, bars and apartments on the other. The apartment is located in Santa Cruz and it is subject to the tourist tax (eco taxa). This is 2.00EUR per day, per person, up to 7 days for people over 18 years old. Neighborhood info

Just below the village is a 200m high headland called Ponta do Garajau which is on the perimeter of the entry point to Funchal Bay, with its fine miradouro – a monumental statue of Christ with outstretched arms, erected in 1927 on the headland 200m above the sea. The statue is similar to the larger & more famous statues in Lisbon & Rio de Janeiro. It has good views west to the Bay of Funchal. Ponta do Garajau is a wonderful spot to watch the sun go down. The section of sea by Ponta do Garajau is a conservation area – “Reserva Natural Parcial do Garajau”. It was one of Europe’s first underwater nature reserves and is a marine sanctuary for whales, dolphins and seals. It has a beautiful re-developed beach with a very nice cafe bar/ restaurant.
