close to volcano park, some good advice and very nice breakfast from Robert. Nice ambience.
Was really close to the Volcanoes National Park. Very comfortable, felt like a home away from home
Difficult to find, our GPS could not find the address, which I think is just the name of the driveway?
A perfect location to the national volcano park nearby Breakfast with papaya
Birds' chirping sound all the night made me wake up in the middle of night. Unexpectedly cold at night
Location near to Volcano national park.
Due to high rating we had (to) high expectations of this B&B. Contact with owner Robert and whole stay (2 nights) was very "business like". Not once did he ask us something! (eg. How are you doing / how is your holiday / where are you from?) nothing! No interest at all! This gave us an unwelcome feeling! Accomodation was ok, but bed was much to soft for our needs. Breakfast experience was "strange". First day Robert said I'll make you breakfast at 8. When we arrived at 8:15 the other guests were already finished eating and Robert was not there. We could only choose from (cold) sausages and wafels as "hot" breakfast items. No toast / eggs or anything. Next day we came "on time" and we got what we wanted, but than the same happened to other guests.
We liked the room as it was large. The gardens were beautiful with native birds. The food was good and the people were nice. It is a very convenient location for the national park.
The bathroom was small.
Robert was attentive without being intrusive. Great pancakes! Very comfortable bed.
Location, quiet, facilities, incl.WiFi & pc in room.breakfast, spacious, well appointed room, lovely garden, helpful friendly host.only 5 Minute drive to Volcano N.Park. Thai restaurant nearby has good food other eateries also avail.
Mattress too soft for our liking.
Location Friendly Hosting Breakfast Environment Free-wifi Free-parking
Wish we could have stayed longer. Robert made us feel welcome and had excellent suggestions for sightseeing. Breakfast was amazing!
Location 5 minutes fro Park. Helpful owner. Great breakfast. Peaceful. Free parking and wifi.
Fabulous warm welcome, so much more luxurious and comfortable than we were expecting, excellent value for money, great breakfast, super comfy beds, beautiful setting and perfectly located to visit the national park. Also stronly recommend the local Thai restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
that we didn't plan to stay longer
The facility, the breakfast, the self-selecting population of guests, the host, and the friendly dogs outside.
We were sorry to go.
Great location, very close to the Park. The house very large and well maintained with plenty of socialising area. Lovely big kitchen and wonderful breakfast with amazing varieties of teas, coffees etc. Robert very friendly and hospitable
Although there was a computer available in the room with instructions to connect, we were unable to get it to work.
The B&B provides a whole house just for guests. There are double bedrooms with ensuites. The ensuite was small but everything was very clean and well presented. Robert was very friendly. Lots of care has obviously been put into this place and it has everything you could want - dressing gown, slippers, snacks, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc all included. There is a full kitchen, computer room, dining room and lounge/TV room for guests, as well as a large balcony. Robert cooked a wonderful breakfast for us - fresh tropical fruit, toast, scrambled eggs, sausages and hash browns. Plus there was cereal, porridge etc available. Robert keeps food out so that you can eat if you're peckish in the evening or just want a quick early breakfast before you hit the road in the morning. It's only five minutes' drive from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park so we could go there during the day, at night and for sunrise.
Only problem we had is that you need to go through a security gate to access the property. On arrival, and without a US cell phone, it was difficult trying to get around the gate and find Robert to check in. I'm sure it would be fine for anyone who had a cell phone though. It would be great if there was an alternative system for travellers who aren't carrying cell phones.
Lovely historic home, well appointed. Full kitchen available. Excellent breakfast. All the modern amenities. Nice folks.
The signage was minimal.
Location is near the national park. Room was big (but bath is small though).
We booked a room, specifically for 4 people, two adults and two kids. The rate we got, for 4 people, was $125. Only after booking (and too late to cancel), we got a confirmation e-mail which said there will be $40 extra fees for the 2 kids. (It adds 30% to the total cost!) This fee is not listed on booking.com. When I asked the owner, he just kept saying "booking.com - they don't list it" but other B&Bs nearby do list the actual amount of this fee. It's completely unfair to tell customer this fee only after booking (especially when the booking was non-refundable). Mattress was too soft in the middle. It feels like an old mattress. When we arrived, we were not told what is the WIFI password, and what time the breakfast will be.
A stately old home with wonderful ambience. Luscious breakfast. Welcoming staff. The best. A real home away from home.
Full Breakfast Beautiful Decor
Bed was a little mushy with a large lump in the middle and that lump wasn't my husband.
It is really nice and the breakfast is amazing!
Iat was really difficult to find it!
The beds were extremely comfortable. There was plenty of room and the lanai wrapped around. The gardens were beautiful to look at from the lanai and it was very peaceful. Breakfast was very good Owner accommodated my request for an early breakfast and when I left my phone charger there, he mailed it to my home. He was very nice. Very pretty surroundings and quiet. Close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. I definately recommend this B&B. If I get a chance to go back, I will stay there again.
That I didn't have time to stay any longer.
it's a good place and the host is so kind for you feel like home. I think here is better than hotel!
Perfect breakfast made by owner (Mr. Robert), very nice guy btw. He also has lot of tips what and when to see at the park. Maps, guides and basic outdoor equipment is at your disposal. We had a diffiuculty finding it so remember - its behind the post office :-)
Excellent host good room size generous breakfast secure area next to volcano n p good wi fi signal
Would like to be able to print airline boarding pass
It is very clean and comfort. Much better than the expectation. My kids loves it!
