very nice and hard-working staff great wifi
would like work-out room
Wifi signal not strong - could not use computer or internet during our stay
Everything else except the elevator. I sure hope they fix it good and have some spare parts on hand.
The main elevator (just one) broke down for 3 days out of the 5 days I stayed there..
We were a group of 4, who had a room with two queen beds. We were only there for a single night and the staff upgraded us! It was a big beautiful room with 3 queen beds, a kitchen, living room, and a big bathroom. Had a wonderful time, with a great location.
Too noisy to sleep well
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean. Good rate and even included a small kitchen. Would stay again.
loved location and ambience staff very helpful and friendly
Internet connectivity a real drawback Street noise
Once the room was upgraded to the junior suite I actually booked, the stay was more comfortable. The suite was very spacious and although everything was very dated, everything seemed to be clean.
Upon arrival, no place to park to check in, circled the block three times with no luck. Called the hotel and they had me double park to check in. Had booked a junior suite on a higher floor, put in a 2nd floor room with windows facing a dirty building, and not a suite. When I complained about the type of room I had actually booked, they moved us to the junior corner suite with nice views. The carpet was old, worn and seemed dirty. All fixtures were very old and dated. If you want coffee, need to bring your own coffee.
helpful front desk, good valet parking, nice continental breakfast and wine in the evening
room could hear street traffic and was a little small
The parlor suite was very nice and the staff were extremely pleasant. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
I failed to have a negative opinion about anything really.
This hotel is very elegant. You can see and feel the history. The architecture is beautiful. There was even a window with a view in the closet...exquisite! Everything was very clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It isn't a 5 star hotel but doesn't claim to be. It has character unlike a chain hotel. Breakfast was great...bakery pastries and fresh fruit, coffee tea and hot chocolate. Great location...close to cable car and can walk to China town. My adult daughter and I were traveling together and we both loved our stay here and would highly recommend Beresford Arms.
The Area is very close the main streets
It is on the main street. Therefore, there is noise a lot in the night.
Room size and cleanliness. Cheese and wine daily for 4-6 nice idea.
Valet parking only but was hassle as hard to get place outside hotel to hand over to staff. Room location was to front main street so extremely noisy into middle of night 3am. No dining room so breakfast was plate in lap fruit and muffins. No fruit juice !?
The location was very central for us as we enjoy walking. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The daily wine and cheese is a lovely jesture which allows patrons to interact with other visitors!
The Wi-Fi service is almost non-existent in the room and often sketchy in the lobby.
Staff were courteous and accommodating. Walkable distance to union square, Bart and Moscone. (checking out after the minimum one night's stay).
The place needs a revamp very badly. Paid way over the odds that I only stayed one night and moved way upmarket for almost the same price. No air-conditioning / climate control.
Can't beat the location, very near Union Sq. Lobby is lovely. Generally the hotel is old and a little shabby here and there but it is kept as clean as possible considering this and was quite comfortable. Breakfast is fruit and pastries only but fine by me. Cheese and Wine free in evenings. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
Wifi didn't work in my room unfortunately.
Location is excellent as you are only 4-5 minutes walk from Union Square. Tenderloin is the other side of you but we walked to and from the hotel on numerous occasions and never felt threatened (go out of the hotel and always turn right). We had a big bedroom on the eighth with kitchenette and big bathroom - all a bit dated but clean and loads of hot water at anytime. Sheets and towels could be changed every day if you wanted.
Hot room as no aircon but they do provide room fans. There is no double glazing so you will hear traffic noise espec. the fire engines but we got used to it. Breakfast is pretty plain fayre - melon, muffins and coffee so we ate out every morning (Sears etc). The free wine and cheese was ok - don't let the whiners put you off, the wine was as good as any pub house white in the UK if not better and free wine is better than paying over $10 + tax for a glass!
Staff were very friendly and helpful close to union square valet was reasonably priced for San Fran
very loud at night - traffic and bars (even on a Monday night) dated decor
Very friendly staff and top hotel location
Not good windows isolation. Very noisy street
Clean rooms, good location for Union Square.
No bar, breakfast was terrible, wi-fi worked intermittently, reception staff could have been friendlier.
Front desk and employees were friendly. They accommodated my early a check in and late checkout.
The WiFi was not working/available, even after asking for the front desk employees help. Bedspread was dirty.
The room was spacious. Simple breakfast provided was good. Location was excellent, just minutes walk to Union Square. The opposite burger bar was good.
The wait for the elevator. There was no air conditioner, though there was a fan provided in the room. Luckily it was autumn, weather was cooled.
The grandma like decor.. The kitchen area...old and out dated but reminded me of my first appt in the 90s :) Like the single flavored coffee creamers and breakfast... Loved the Jolly Rancher candies!
Luckily, it wasn't warm/hot because I would have been pissed if I had to use the window box fan in the closet after paying $270+ a night! Room Security, no safe.. The fire escape was outside the window..GREAT.. But at same time, potential security issue as anyone could be on the fire escape or access the room by breaking the glass..
the beautiful rooms and the staff were very helpful
