Clean rooms, good location for Union Square.
No bar, breakfast was terrible, wi-fi worked intermittently, reception staff could have been friendlier.
the beautiful rooms and the staff were very helpful
Good value for money at a pretty good location (close to Union Square).
We booked a deluxe queen room. Upon arrival, the reception clerk said he was upgrading us because we were on our honeymoon. The room we got had what we think were two double beds. The bellboy also referred to the beds as double beds. Apparently, the upgrade was that we got two beds instead of one. Why on earth would honeymooners want two smaller beds instead of a larger one??? We really felt the clerk was messing with us. When we asked to get the queen bed we reserved and are paying for, the clerk insisted that the two beds were indeed queen beds. We still think the beds were smaller. Further, upon arrival, the room was quite warm and we were disappointed to find out that there was no air conditioning. However, there were two fans in the closets, which we were able to use to make the room more comfortable. Finally, we found the continental breakfast to be lacking sources of protein.
I enjoyed the junior suite, the bed was very comfortable and the washroom clean. Great shower and tub. Nice little kitchen. Great location, felt very safe. Nice lobby and sitting area.
Pidgeons in the courtyard area made a lot of noise during the morning hours. Staff not overly friendly.
All the comforts of a more well known chain but with character. Great locations, great room and helpful staff.
Had a pleasant 4 night stay. It was centrally located. First place I have ever stayed that had complimentary wine and cheese offered. Was a great way to meet others and socialize. Would definately recommend this hotel.
It wasn't that I didn't like anything, but noticed that there was no air conditioning so not sure how comfortable it would be if the temps where high. While we were there the temps were comfortable at night, we just opened the window, so it was fine.
Noise came from the street and through the walls from the neighbors.
Location is good but not great. Wine and cheese reception was nice.
Room was extremely noisy. I was awakened at 2:30 a.m. each night by glass recycling truck outside my window. Kitchen cabinetry in room was in disrepair and kitchen was unattractive. Carpet in room needed to be replaced. Lotion was requested but not provided. Front desk staff was not particularly friendly or accommodating.
Big room and bath.
Tired decoration, some light bulbs not working.
Happy hour, friendly staff
Clean room without air con but it was fine because it was quite chilling. There was also a fan in case we felt too hot. Wifi was very poor, almost non existent in the room. The wifi at the lobby was stronger, we had to head down to use the free wifi.
Overall it was a descent place but upon entering the foyer there was a very strange odor! It was an immediate turn off. It was clean but very old. They do offer a complimentary wine and cheese hour and a continental breakfast that was a pleasant surprise.
The overwhelming odor upon entering the lobby. The old fashioned bedspread needs to be thrown away!
Corner suite very noisy on corner of Post street.
lobby is good.
Cheese and wine very good
No bar or dinning room
THIS hotel is one of the absoulute best I have encountered in over twenty years of travel. Staff, EXCELLENT! Accommodations, SUPERIOR! View from room, NOT IMPORTANT, but adequate for my needs. Old world hospitality with charm of the same! THIS IS my new favorite, and since I have not had a favorite hotel in fifteen years, that says something!
The location of the Beresford Arms was perfect.
WiFi in the rooms is a little bit of a farce. We had to step outside our room and sit on the internal stairs.
Spacious room with full kitchen, breakfast and wine and cheese in the afternoons. The hotel is close enough to walk or take public transportation almost anywhere in San Francisco.
Park in front
Decent size room with huge bathroom
Foyer, reception and lounge area fairly grotty and light breakfast provided was woeful
The location was very good, very close to union square. We had a junior suite which was large and very roomy with a kitchenette and large bathroom.
Would have liked wifi in the bedrooms and coffee to go with the coffee maker. Wifi in the lobby was slow.
The bed was uncomfortable, the room has no air conditioning, and the noise from the street & people out to party kept me up until 3 AM. Not a Union Square hotel. This is on the edge of the Tenderloin.
No cable TV
Outside of building is fine. Lobby and community area is nice.
Furniture is terrible. Bathrooms in guest rooms and elsewhere are below average.
The location was good and the staff was helpful.
The elevator wasn't working and I was on the 6th floor. In addition, the furniture in the lobby was getting tatty. I paid more than double for a room because of the Oracle convention and it simply wasn't worth it.
