Staff, location, quiet room, decor, all are 5 star
The bar and its singer. Concierge John Fitzpatrick gave good tips.
Bourbon St. now tawdry and almost unpleasant. Hotel breakfast substandard. Had to use service lift.
nice clean hotel. Wear ear plugs if you don't like noise.
Location was awesome. Close to everything. I am very picky about beds and this one was very comfortable with great bedding. Bloody Mary's were best ever!!
Parking fees a bit high but guess that is New Orleans
If you do not want the noise at night, ask for a pool side room. I was expecting the sleepless night but others in the group were not.
Loved everything but the noise. Room was lovely, staff is amazing.
The noise from the bars can make it tough to sleep. And I'm 33.
Great value, opulent decor and wonderful position !
Maybe not having a fridge in room
Locations is excellent, hotel staff were friendly, helpful and always available.
Our room was very noisy at night, music from Bourbon Street could be heard until the early hours. Would definitely stay here again but request a room that faced into the pool/courtyard area
The hotel was in a perfect location for everything we wanted to do. Steps away from Bourbon Street yet quiet and safe in the hotel.
The staff was outstanding - very helpfful and friendly.
The best location in the french quarter. Nice character. Attentive and very reactive staff. Good free Wifi. Nice breakfast buffet.
Rooms on the street side are noisy due to poorly insulated windows (and the streets can't be quite in the heart of the french quarter !) No frigde in the room.
We loved the historic charm of this hotel. Although our room was on the small side, it was clean and very comfortable - great bed, really cozy. The service at the hotel was outstanding, the room service was excellent, and just outside our door was the entire French Quarter. The price was very reasonable for the great location and the charm. We'd go back in warmer weather to be able to use the pool!
There was no room service on Mondays so be forewarned. They had delivery from local restaurants but the food from the menu they gave us was terrible. Also parking is an extra $34 a night which we didn't know. Transportation is so easy - look for a cheaper parking alternative and take the streetcar or walk everywhere!
After all the shambles there are some great points! Hotel location is fantastic! Very clean!
We arrived at the hotel to be told our room had been oversold! We booked a deluxe twin room with twin double beds for me and my friend 6 months prior. we were staying for 6 nights over new year. Bourbon orleans had resold our room presumedly to higher paying customers which i thought was terrible! The receptionist tried to say that there was no booking from booking.com. I obviously had all the paperwork to say it was booked and the recently emails telling me to prepare and get excited about my stay. After contacting booking.com they confirmed to me that bourbon orleans had oversold our room so it was the hotels fault not booking.com. Luckily there was a room available with only one bed for the first two nights and then our originally booked room would then be made available so that for the first 2 nights my friend and i took in turns to sleep on an air bed. Which the hotel provided.. Not what i was expecting....
Location Room size Breakfast
Room on corner of Bourbon a Street can be quite noisy in the early hours
Location was fantastic
The location is fab, right in the heart of the French Quarter. The historical age of the hotel is also a good thing.
Parking is expensive - but I guess this is the heart of the French Quarter.
Staff were Amazing Check in was quick Room was excellent well sized and bed was comfy Shower was the best shower i have had in all 30 days in America Excellent Location Felt Safe 100% of the time
I needed a late check-in. The staff most likely judged me by how I was wearing (it was a warm night, I had just bermudas and a simple T- shirt) and since they could not find my reservations in the system, they did not want me to wait by the balcony claiming it was the hotel policy. I waited outside the hotel until the security came outside to tell me that they found my reservations. It's a great hotel with a poorly prepared staff. If you are in no for leisure, it will only get you stressed.
The staff and location was great.
Room was small but well organized.
This place could not have been in a better location - short walk to St. Louis Cathedral and all the highlights within the French Quarter. The bar, although quiet, had some good drinks and poured them strong. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff were all friendly.
Valet is painfully slow and expensive (and we visited during a slow time for New Orleans). The rooms do not have black out blinds, so it's never completely dark, which makes sleeping in difficult.
It was lovely small hotel. Loved the complementary holiday beverages in the lobby. Great location and easy to find and get to everything in NOLA.
The pillows hurt me neck. Too flat.
