First and foremost, the staff, from the front desk staff to the housekeeper, was the most courteous and helpful I have seen in years! They seemed to truly like their jobs and went beyond the call of duty to make us comfortable. Bravo! The location is perfect, a stone's throw from Jackson Square, and more importantly, the Cafe du Monde and beignet deliriousness! The property itself is lovely and historic. They have a great pool and the room was impeccable, well-apportioned and always clean. We are regular visitors to NOLA and this will be were we stay in the future.
They could do a bit more to highlight the building's historical role in New Orleans.
Friendly staff, spacious room and the overall cleanliness of the hotel and awesome pool!!
Location, comfort, friendliness and cleanliness.
I don't think there is a better located hotel in all of the French Quarter. I am a local and always do "staycations" at the Bourbon O. It is, literally, feet away from Jackson square and Bourbon & Royal Streets. The staff and dining are top notch. The rooms are huge and the hotel has the added security of only allowing the guest to access the floor that their room is on by using the key card. Otherwise, the elevator will not move.
We had two issues. The first was that we were offered an upgrade to a Balcony suite for $19 a night about a week before arriving, so naturally we said yes. When we arrived, we were told that the upgrade option was no longer available but they could offer us the same room for $40 more a night. Figure that one out. Next, the shower curtain had a science experiment growing on the bottom. And I'm not talking a small patch; this thing was quite large and extended across the bottom of the entire shower curtain. It is something that you would think would be noticed and remedied during daily housekeeping. Also, the shower head was broken and, again, should have been very visible to the housekeeping staff. These issues were fixed almost immediately once the front desk was notified. But they shouldn't need to be notified by the guest, especially at such a quality hotel such as the Bourbon Orleans.
No room service Sunday afternoon
Great location and fairly priced. Quiet comfortable rooms. Nice bar with very pleasant staff.
Great location, beautiful pool, comfort
Service and location was great
Wasn't distilled with anything. Our stay was very relaxing
it was right in the heart of the French quarter, ideal for everything to do with entertainment.
Rude bartender he did not treat well the customers. Too expensive
Reception staff accommodating and bar a welcome relief from the tacky-ness of the rest of Bourbon street.
Valet guy rushed us out of the car, opening the boot before we were ready and allowing a souvenir that had been bought in Mexico to smash on the floor, and I did not even receive an apology. Very disappointed at this. Room was very noisy, backed onto the pool so there was a constant thrum of a generator all day and night and the corridors very noisy at night and early morning with both staff and guests. Very small bedrooms.
When we arrived Saturday and tried to go to the pool, we were told it was closed from 4:00pm till 7:00pm. It was our only chance to enjoy the pool. So, after spending $600 for 2 nights, we couldn't even use the pool because of a private event!!!
The location was great, grand old style building ,nice pool area, clean large room
The lift at first ,didn't realise that only had to push the button for lift to open was trying to use the key card
Excellent location for Bourbon Street, if that is what you want. But far enough way not to keep you awake.
Rooms too small. Housekeeping wanting to clean rooms too early, And if you miss them, have to remind them to come back.
The staff were so nice and accommodating.
Very clean, great service, great location.......
Our room was not ready until 6pm (checkin is 3pm), but the Reps were very apologetic and stored our luggage while we walked the town. Queen rooms are very small
Close proximity to everything! Hotel was beautiful & the mimosa/bloody mary bar while you wait for you car-AMAZING!
A little pricey...just a tad.
Boutique hotel located right in the heart of bourbon street. Clean, large rooms. Modern bathrooms.
Since it was a small hotel you could hear your neighbor and people walking in the halls ( halls space was narrow and hallow). The elevators were a bit complex to use and I found myself taking the stairs because of it.
Location is fabulous. Lynn Burgett II was a great bartender. Took very good care of us and was fun and informative. Beautiful hotel, reception staff was OK, but concierge, bell staff and valet staff were excellent.
Our room was small, but we understand it's an old building.
Right in the heart of the French Quarter! You can walk to everything. Staff was helpful in directing us to various activities/restaurant's. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Also enjoyed the pool. Complimentary coffee in the morning and iced tea in the afternoon, very nice. I would stay there again and would Highly recommend to anyone.
Although we didn't mind, the elevator was not centrally located and we mostly used the service elevator. Valets provided incorrect information on parking on city streets. Obviously, they wanted you to use hotel parking.
The hotel was so close to all the action in the French Quarter. It was beautiful and very clean. The staff was courteous. They had coffee in the lobby in the morning, and fruit infused water and iced tea in the afternoon. There were fresh pralines on the check out desk. The hotel is very secure. You have to use your room key to access the elevator and restrooms throughout the hotel. Felt very safe. My friend and I both said we would absolutely go back and stay at the Bourbon O!
The staff was superb! I felt very well taken care of. Any problems, no questions are asked, they take care of it. They are top notch in service and are very sincere. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location.
Friendly staff great location
Would opt for a higher floor and the inside room. Bourbon Street was very very noisy.
Location can't be beat, and the interesting history and charming courtyard pool were bonuses.
