Not much not to like. Staff was great, hotel was fine. Highly reccommend it.
If you are touring the Mall, or doing the "DC with Kids" thing, this place is tough to beat. Great Restaurants one stop down the line (eastern market) and you really are right in the middle of the action.
Booking.com never told me of the extra safety charge of $30. You get it back, but it is still valuable information upfront.
I liked the professional attendants at the check in desk.
I had to cancel my second night and explained I had to get home and the staff person said he would check to see if I would receive a refund. I have not been contacted.
Locatioin and breakfast
V helpful staff. Refreshment facilities in lobby kept clean and well supplied. Breakfast was excellent value and good quality.
The staff here was AMAZINGLY nice & helpful. Even when there wasn't any parking they let us park on the side and when we got a ticket the next day, they took responsibility for it. They were friendly welcoming and great with my two young children (1 & 3). Also this hotel is llike a block away from the metro station which is a HUGE plus when traveling with young kids.
FYI - the "Type of Traveler" category is not applicable for a grandparent and grandchild.
The room itself, the food choices for breakfast, the location of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff.
Incredibly helpful and kind staff, free wifi, great business center, and nice, comfortable rooms. Couldn't ask for a better hotel.
outlet beside bed did not work
The parking cost an extra $50 per day.
The location was awesome! The staff was friendly and the breakfast was nice and convenient!
I have nothing bad to say at all.
The staff was very friendly and eager to help you. The room was clean and look nice. It was a nice location close to all the monuments.
The bed was amazingly comfortable, I slept well all three nights. The hospitality hour was a nice touch and the array of healthy breakfast choices much appreciated.
The corner of the bed destroyed my shin -- the very boxy frame took up the corner of the room and tripped while adjusting the curtains or moving to that side of the bed.
Really good hotel, big room, confortable bed, great location, near the capitol and also close to SouthCapitol metro station. Reasonable continental breakfast.
I liked the location, staff, spacious suite.
We love dogs, but we found that as we were trying to sleep, the dog next door was whining or barking. This did stop when the owners arrived. Noise did quite clearly come through the doors at all hours. I'm not sure what the hotel can do about this as it's up to the guests to keep their voices down, especially at night time.
This hotel was in walking distance to many attractions as well as to the Metro which also took us directly to all the attractions we wanted to see. The staff were polite and happy to help at any time and the room was comfortable and clean. I particularly liked the happy hour from Monday to Thursday. It was nice at the end of the day to enjoy a glass of wine. The breakfast, though it said it was continental, also provided a cold cut, cheese and boiled egg. I was particularly impressed with the L'Occitane amenities. keep up the good work.
The bedding, there were just thin blankets, the rooms couldn't open.
Staff, very friendly and helpful, breakfast, spacious room.

Location and very good staff
Close proximity to tourist attractions, ie national mall
-Only 2 chairs at dining table off kitchenette, where do the other 2 people sit? -Stove elements were in effective and did not heat properly -Only 2 glasses, mugs -No sharp knife for cutting, no serving utensils, snack-sized crockery
-Very quiet location; safe feeling. -Proximity to Capitol Building and easy walk to monuments / Mall / Smithsonian buildings / spy museum etc -1 block walk to 'Capitol South' metro - Free breakfast - Free parking for month of December! -Small dressing room in between bathroom & bed area had a full length mirror and was great for storing luggage, hanging coats & changing in private! -Close proximity to nearby restaurants: Burrito Brothers, Pizza Place, Sonoma etc -5 minute walk to Roland's grocery store on corners of 3rd & Pennsylvania great for basic groceries, meat, fruit/veg, alcohol etc. A bit pricey, but convenient. -Staff were accommodating; i requested use of a frying pan and they delivered it almost immediately.
Can't think of a thing.
Superb staff almost treats you like family, without the stiff (and sometimes overly postured) interaction you often get at the high end chain hotels.
Barking dog next to my room. I believe a room on a higher floor may have solved this problem. The hotel was very apologetic and offered to change my room.
The location by The Supreme Court and Capitol Hill let's you start on one side of town and walk to the Lincoln Memorial and back. Great location with large rooms, free breakfast and an attentive staff in this boutique hotel.
The very worst part of the hotel was that the showers were cold. On our first day we were told this was a problem that was being fixed, but the problem persisted because even after the water heater was fixed, it was still not able to handle hotel capacity at busy periods (9am, etc). The breakfast buffet is "free", but nothing special. We also had a loud air conditioner and when it rained outside at night it was like being under a tin roof the rain was so loud.
Other guests on our floor were being rowdy and keeping us up at night, but the hotel staff dealt with the problem immediately and effectively. The staff were sympathetic to our other problems, but couldn't do anything about them. The location is also convenient as it is one block from the capitol south metro station.
ventilation in bathrooms is missing
Phenomenal location for anyone needing to be near the Library of Congress, the House of Representatives, or Capitol Hill in general
