We arrived at 12:30 and were charged $20 each for out two rooms to check
in early. I don't understand that. If the rooms are clean and ready,
what difference does it make? It's not like a maid had to hurry and
clean a room so we could get in there. Poor customer service in my
opinion. While the rooms are large, there could be some updating. Our
bathroom was awful. Old pink diamond wallpaper that was peeling off the
walls. Old bathtub. Other than that though, the room was nice. The walls
are paper thin and we were awakened every time someone was talking in
the hallway. Also, the hotel thought it was a great idea to begin
running a power tool in the room above us at 8:30 in the morning. We
called to see if they could hold off awhile, but it continued for almost
an hour. I would think they would have more consideration for their
guests. We had a king room and our "kids" (21 and 26) had 2
queens. Our sink area was huge with two sinks and tons of space. Theirs
was about two feet wide with one sink. Didn't make a lot of sense to
me that the room that obviously has more people in it would have such a
small sink area. Also, for some incredibly dumb reason, there is a
window that looks into the bathroom from the main room, so no privacy.
Once again, complete inconsideration for guests. There is no reason for
that. We were very excited to eat at Hash House a Go Go because of all
the rave reviews, but it was awful. I ordered a basic bacon and eggs
(over medium) breakfast. The eggs were not cooked and when I cut into
them the white liquid spilled out all over my plate. They give you two
wimpy strips of bacon; the breakfast potatoes were squares of potatoes
that seemed deep fried and didn't go well with breakfast; the
biscuit was thick, dry and cold. We were so disappointed and will never
go back there. Yuck. The casino was pretty smoky but most of them are
these days. There are two shuttles to take you to the strip.
First off, it was very easy to find since it's located right off the
Interstate. It was easy to find parking and the parking garage is just
steps from the hotel lobby. Check in was fairly quick and easy. The
rooms are huge and the bed was very comfortable. There is a small
refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker in the room which is a huge plus!
Glad we brought our own K-cups, creamer and sugar though because none
were provided. We visited the Voo pool on Saturday and that was a blast!
Small pool but tons of fun. Great music, great atmosphere. Service was a
little slow, but friendly. Didn't take long to rack up a $300 bar
tab between four people! The hotel is fairly small, or maybe just laid
out well, so it didn't take 20 minutes to walk to your room as it
does in some other casino hotels. The casino was jumping on Friday and
Saturday with live bands, music, dancing....but the rest of the week was
pretty boring. Shopping was nice and they had a nice convenience store
right down from the elevators. The Sports Deli served pretty good food.
Their sandwiches were huge and yummy.
