I felt unsafe due to actions and negative verbal remarks from staff. Undisclosed dangerous driving conditions which were unlit roads, and small 2 lane road in the mountains. I felt unsafe due to the door lock not being secured.
I liked being in an old hotel--1790. I liked the bar in the basement with option of food. Also liked the bakery with breakfast. A fun place,
had a restaurant
public bar connected.,...the only thing in town to go to at night hard bed
Small old room Cramped bathroom Sloping floorboards No breakfast available
Pretty, old house with a pub in the basement. Room was very clean, floors slope a bit (but that's to be expected in an old house). Overall nice, but sadly missing the personal touch.
Walls rather thin
The charm; quietness; location; the overall feeling of peace. The lack of phones in the room. The location of the Inn to such beautiful color and views. The friendliness of the local people. The helpfulness of the manager to find sites and other locations to eat.
The WiFi was not working well in room 6. It seemed that the further away from the living room sitting area we got the worse the connection was. However the Manager tried working with us to help achieve a better connection. Also, did not like that breakfast was not available two of the mornings we were there; however, again the Manager set up Coffee for us in the morning of both days. I was not sure if that was a norm or that he was doing his best to be accomodating as he was throughout our visit.
Great location - accessible to points of interest, scenic. Inn keeper was very friendly and gave us helpful suggestions. Overall it was comfortable and met our needs
Room itself can use some upgrades. The flooring had weak floorboards here and there, the bathroom had fixtures that were held together with Duct Tape! Bed Linens were washed/clean but had stains on them. For $175/night I would expect better quality.
Enjoyed the resturaunt down stairs.
Room was small for the price.
Location was good, away from big cities, close to scenic drive route 100. The tavern had great food, beer and live music. The inn had lots of charm, over 200 years old , clean with a comfortable bed. Bakery had good food , had breakfast there.
The bakery not ready to serve breakfast for 8 am. The old church across the street had bells ringing all night on the hour.
The staff and the quaintness of the hotel
The food at the tavern and breakfast was delicios. And the staff were very friendly.
Steep narrow steps and loud hallways. My key never worked.
Clean accomodations and delicious breakfast!
Bed was too soft, hard to work the "2" remotes, TV in an awkward place on the wall when in bed, no elevator...difficult getting our luggage up 1 and 1/2 flight of steps.
It is really a great experience in this hotel! It is clean and warm just like at home. The breakfast and dinner are wonderful. Everyone is nice. And the view of autumn vermont is amazing. We have a nice weekend. I will come again and recommend it to my friends.
Living room was comfortable
TV & bedding could use an upgrade
The room was clean. The bathroom was clean, and housekeeping was fast & efficient. The breakfast restaurant was really nice.
Wi-Fi signal was weak. I never could locate the hot tub. The staff was nice, but did not let us know where anything was unless we specifically asked. We were in and out of the Inn several times, but never saw anyone in the 'office'.
I liked the whole downstairs, and the pub. Great fun!
No morning breakfast, but the restaurant down the street was good.
Wi Fi Living Room Bakery food Bedding
lack of window screens bathroom amenities...low end soap and shampoo...considering the cost to stay for one night, should have been high end goodies...
We wanted to stay at a place that took us back when America first started. To experience the past. The room was much more than expected (room #1). It had two bedrooms. It had the original floors with square nails.
It would have been nice to have a brochure with the history of the Inn. Parking was a problem for many.
It's a charming place that is very conveniently located close to the resort and lots of things to do.
I liked the area.
As Jerry Seinfeld said, "Anybody can TAKE a reservation,... The point is to HOLD the reservation!" I had made a reservation on the Booking.com website for a Saturday night stay in September for Parent's Weekend at my daughter's college. We usually stay closer to Burlington but all the hotels in the area were booked due to an antique car show in town for the weekend. I had a choice of 2 available rooms when I made my online booking about 6 weeks before my stay. One room had 2 twin beds and the other had 2 queen beds. I definitely did not want twin beds, so I was glad I had the option of queen beds. I booked the queen bed room and had the confirmation email sent to my phone. On my way to Burlington, I checked the reservation on my phone to confirm the check-in time and other details of the reservation. We arrived at the inn an hour or two after check-in and were greeted by the clerk who had our room ready, gave us the key and directed us up the stairs and around the corner. Most of the doors on the second floor hallway were open as most of the guests had not arrived yet. I arrived at our room to find 2 twin beds. The room across the hall had 2 queen beds. Assuming the clerk had made a mistake, we headed back downstairs to exchange the key for the 2 queen bedded room across the hall. The clerk tried telling us that we had reserved the twin bed room and would not believe me until I showed him the confirmation email from Booking.com on my phone. He then proceeded to say that despite the clear confirmation email confirming 2 queen beds, Booking.com must have messed up because all his rooms were booked for the night and there was nothing he could do. I told him I had the option of choosing the 2 twin beds when I was making the reservation but I clearly did not want twins and chose the queens. He said that was impossible because all that was left at the time of my booking was twins..
Friendly staff, knowledgeable, great historical ambience, great location
Noise doors did not close right as floors sloped to much
We enjoyed every minute of it
We love Jeffersonville and it's proximity to Smugglers Notch and area, including Stowe and also Burlington. Family lives in area and enjoyed that as well. Love the Village Tavern and their staff.
Front lounge strewn with games. (Same ones for a week)Bar lounge sparse/ no furniture and the breakfast/lunch place "The Mix" was open only on 9-1-14, the day we left. Never got to eat there.Saw innkeeper twice the entire week. saw rooms left uncleaned after checkouts for days at a time. Drop box for keys. No receipt - weird. Someone needs to care more for this lovely Inn.
