Would like air conditioning of some type.

It was a hot day and the inn don't have central air.also under the bed we found olot of dust. And some one pair of shoes.
I like the inn charm.the inn keeper attitude.love the area.

The hot tub has been out of order for quite a while based on previous reviews. This was one of the main reasons I booked this place. After a long day of skiing it was quite disappointing to find that it was STILL closed.
I love the history there, it's not your "cookie cutter" place to stay. It's also attached to a great breakfast spot, and restaurant and bar below.

Nothing to complain about
Loved the fireplace and the large tub! Beautiful cozy room

Room was small with a king size bed taking quite a bit of the space and we had a lot of luggage, but it was comfortable!
Location was very good and having two eating establishments was very convenient.

Check in time was 3:00pm. We arrived at the inn and no one came to check us in. We waited an hour and ran the door bell and cow bell many times. We had to call the inn owners whos numbers were posted on a wall. Mind you cell service in the area is limited so we lost him a couple times. Now this was getting frustrating. It appreared he was in the building the entire time. The owner never even apologized. He was very nice, once he showed up. I would stay there again. As I am hoping this was just a fluke. The rest of our experience was great.
Very clean, comfortable, seems to be well cared for building. Very good price for being so close to the mountain. No the big restuaruant, but the litte diner attached to the inn had the tasting food. The taven restaurant dinner/food was also really good.

It was -10 F and had to run water for few minutes to get it warm.
Great location, close to Smugglers Notch, walking distrance to a fantastic "The French Way Bakery", distillery, general store. $4 local beers at the tavern, nice historic feel. Great Staff.

We could hear every word in the next room.
I loved the look of the Inn. But the walls were too thin I could hear every word the people in the next room said. Which made for a bad nights sleep. The Inn's internet was awful! The Inn itself very pretty and quaint.

I woke up several times from the bed being uncomfortable and had a sore back in the morning.
The inn is close to the ski area. General store and liquor store across the street. Nice bar/restaurant downstairs. Inn keepers Bill and Cathy were helpful great.

Unregulated inn room temp;no coffee or hot water for tea in room
Jacuzzi in room

Wifi was sketchy, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. No microwave to warm up some food that we brought.
Liked the closeness to Smuggler's notch resort where we went snowboarding for our winter vacation. Price wasn't too bad either.

Small room, snowplow woke me up.
Close to ski resort, nice taverns

Bad wifi service, breakfast overpriced and not very good
Great location, great price, shower was awesome

Wifi can be slow. I suspect that no one in the area has access to high speed internet. For example, the Wifi speed is unusable at the Smugglers ski resort. Cleaning staff missed trash stuffed by previous occupant into one of our side table drawers. Otherwise room was perfect.
We really enjoy our annual stay while skiing at Smugglers Notch. We don't spend much time in the room or the inn but it has a comfortable, rustic feel. The staff isn't easy to physically find but responds very satisfactorily to text requests. Outdoor temperatures were extremely low during our stay so we were provided with a supplemental space heater. Breakfast at "The Mix" is excellent.

Right next to a busy road.
We had a wonderful visit. It was very close to smugglers notch and the Inn had everything we needed. I would definitely stay there again.

I felt unsafe due to actions and negative verbal remarks from staff. Undisclosed dangerous driving conditions which were unlit roads, and small 2 lane road in the mountains. I felt unsafe due to the door lock not being secured.

I liked being in an old hotel--1790. I liked the bar in the basement with option of food. Also liked the bakery with breakfast. A fun place,

public bar connected.,...the only thing in town to go to at night hard bed
had a restaurant

Small old room Cramped bathroom Sloping floorboards No breakfast available
October 21, 2014
Walls rather thin
Pretty, old house with a pub in the basement. Room was very clean, floors slope a bit (but that's to be expected in an old house). Overall nice, but sadly missing the personal touch.

The WiFi was not working well in room 6. It seemed that the further away from the living room sitting area we got the worse the connection was. However the Manager tried working with us to help achieve a better connection. Also, did not like that breakfast was not available two of the mornings we were there; however, again the Manager set up Coffee for us in the morning of both days. I was not sure if that was a norm or that he was doing his best to be accomodating as he was throughout our visit.
The charm; quietness; location; the overall feeling of peace. The lack of phones in the room. The location of the Inn to such beautiful color and views. The friendliness of the local people. The helpfulness of the manager to find sites and other locations to eat.
October 17, 2014
Room itself can use some upgrades. The flooring had weak floorboards here and there, the bathroom had fixtures that were held together with Duct Tape! Bed Linens were washed/clean but had stains on them. For $175/night I would expect better quality.
Great location - accessible to points of interest, scenic. Inn keeper was very friendly and gave us helpful suggestions. Overall it was comfortable and met our needs
October 13, 2014
Room was small for the price.
Enjoyed the resturaunt down stairs.

The bakery not ready to serve breakfast for 8 am. The old church across the street had bells ringing all night on the hour.
Location was good, away from big cities, close to scenic drive route 100. The tavern had great food, beer and live music. The inn had lots of charm, over 200 years old , clean with a comfortable bed. Bakery had good food , had breakfast there.
