Big comfortable room
Old hotel and poor breakfast but for what we paid in that area it was very good
The staff was very nice and helped with advice on how to get around and where to go for activities.
The carpet by the base boards around the entire room had about an inch of dust where the vacuum didn't reach. The bathroom seemed older and run down and the sink did not drain very well. The room seemed damp as well.
Employees were very kind and helpful. Good deal for the cost.
Parking. Trying to find a parking spot on the street is very difficult in San Francisco.
old room, bad breakfast, not clean
Location was a little far from the city centre, but we just walked everywhere and it was lovely! Close to Safeway(supermarket) and the waterfront. Lovely bed, free wifi definitely a plus!! Staff friendly and accomodating. If you're looking for a budget accomodation in SF with good bed, clean bathroom and wifi, this is perfect.
Basin in main room was a little disconcerting, but fine once you get used to it. Shower pressure wasn't great, but hey, really good overall for the price!
Everyething was just perfect. I could strongly recommend this place. Staff was very helpful, location is great, room was nice, quiet and clean.
location is good, so the area is secure and nearby the coast
a bit old clairaudient
Great location close to Fort Mason and easy walk to Fisherman's wharf. Safe, quiet nice neighborhood.
Parking was street parking. We had no problem finding a spot and on the weekend there are no limits so it worked out fine, but two hour limit on a weekday would be difficult.
Excellent location, ideal for walking and transport links to all areas of the city.Staff more than helpful,Room a little small, but secure, breakfast was good, never left hungry.
Not much really, just a lack of wardrobe space, and perhaps a vending machine for coffee e.t.c.for the evenings
Staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. We appreciated the breakfast. Room was comfortable and WiFi worked well. Excellent location too.
Room was a bit stuffy but too noisy with the window open. I wouldn't recommend staying here in midsummer for that reason. Would have liked to have been able to make a cup of tea in our room.
nice view, cheap price, reasonable breakfast
far away from public transport, main attractions and shops. Everything looks old and dated. Clean but needs a makeover soon!
Free breakfast was nice. Free wifi sometimes a hit and miss but oh well. Location was pretty good, short walk to the pier. The staff really nice and helpful they checked us in early
Good location and helpful staff. Only a 5min walk to get a view of the Golden Gate Bridge and 15min walk to the edge of Fisherman's Wharf. It's an easy walk to the top of Lombard Street too, but as you cold guess, it's a bit steep!
No tea / coffee making facilities and there aren't any bars / restaurants on your doorstep, so it's probably the place to stay for someone who wants a bit of a quieter stay.
It was located well, within easy walk to bay and attractions. It was clean, which was of paramount importance to us.
It is a little dated. The lift was noisy and could be heard in our room. The breakfast space was totally inadequate, and the offering sparse, we only had one day out of our six.
location! it was safe, convenient, and accessible to everything! uber rides were all within $10 into the city and is along the bus line. excellent location.
Our room was facing the street and you can hear every car, truck, song that went by. Still for what we paid, it's worth the bit of city noise.
A nice hotel within walking distance of a lots of points of interest and bus/cable car connections. Very helpful staff.
There was only street parking and the information from the staff on cost of parking in a nearby garage was poor.
Easy and quick check-in
No parking. Tiny bathroom
They had clearly made effort with the decor/design of the room and the daily housekeeping was excellent. The location of the hotel is good. It's worth knowing that there are food places and local hubs on Chestnut and Union street (nearby). Breakfast is limited but fine.
Noise did carry between rooms (not all the time). The female receptionist we most regularly saw was quite surly so we didn't feel we could ask many questions of her.
Refrigerator in room and location that's a short walk to Union street and Chestnut street dining and shopping areas. Breakfast is ok, similar to what you may get at a European pensione.
If sensitive to traffic noise ask for room away from street. Hotel's website says has complimentary newspaper in breakfast area and a business center kiosk but I don't think so, they should get that right.
The staff helped me with advice on getting around and arranging transportation. The area is very attractive and within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf, and not far from the city centre. The hotel room itself was extremely comfortable.
Location just perfect, in walking distance: Fisherman's Wharf 15 min, Lombard Street (the curvy part) 10-20min (very uphill ;) ), Chestnut street (cross Fillmore St) with some great restaurants - 10 min, Cable tram main stop 10 min. Golden Gate Bridge - 5 min drive. :) Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is nice. Wifi was working pretty well. Considering the price - there was nothing we would wish more.
The breakfast... but it's a common "problem" in all the places in the US as we saw it so far; a very small breakfast place so not enough place for everybody to sit down and eat. (Place maybe for 8-10 people at once) Another issue is the parking, so coming with a car makes it hard, you have to park at the street and it's not always right at the hotel - we had to park one night almost two blocks away.
The hotel was 2.2 miles from the BART which made for a nice walk.
I was forced to take a cold shower as the water takes 40 minutes to heat in the early morning hours. The room smelled like a sewer. When I returned home, I washed my clothes twice to get out the smell. The shower head was positioned at chest height. The TV reception was fuzzy. Breakfast consisted of milk, white bread, coffee, and yogurt.
Great location, super friendly and helpful staff, great coffee in the morning with a decent breakfast to get you going - charming character and cozy atmosphere in the rooms - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
A little loud: the traffic noise from outside and the walls between rooms seemed a bit thin. Towels were scarce and one shouldn't have to ask for right amount of towels to be supplied
