The hotel is in the perfect location. You can walk to most tourist attractions in Philadelphia.
There tends to be guests from whatever event is going on in Philly. When I was there it was a huge music festival (a lot of young partiers!).
Noisy room on a quiet floor. *Ironic*
Room smelled musty on first entrance.
The hotel was fair. The room and the bathroom appeared a bit dated. However, the bed was extremely comfortable. The lobby was too crowded; reminded me of Grand Central. Overall it was a fair, clean, comfortable hotel.
Too crowded and dated
My family and I literally spent less than 24 hours on property. We checked in at 9:30pm and checked out around 10:30am. My dad and I walked around Market Street in the evening and then to Dunkin Donuts in the morning. After check out we walked thru Reading Terminal Market.
I requested an early check in but didn't get a response back from the hotel whether or not they could accomondate the request. The light bulb on the desk was out which made the room kind of dark. Valet parking was full, so we had to park across the street in public parking(it was cheaper then valet).
My 3rd stay at this hotel! Always consistent in service, room cleanliness. ALthough a large hotel, still gives intimate feeling of a boutique hotel. Definitely my "GO-TO" Philadelphia Hotel. Train from airport is direct, hotel is across from reading station, walking distance to historical PHiladelphia/Fairmount Park Area/ Museums. PHLASH Bus is outside main door if you do not wish to walk (great for my 70 yr old mother ) Although I didn't come to Philadelphia for shopping, Rittenhouse Square shopping district is not far. My kids (11 and 15) and I were in the city to visit museums -history and art.
n/a-Loved pretty much everything!
Extra charge for parking and wifi
Location was excellent.
Crowded everywhere with conference people.
Nice place to stay!
Paying extra for parking.
If you have business in the Philedlephia Convention Center this hotel should be your choice. It is connected via a sly bridge as well as being in the heart of Center City.
walking distance to most places of interest, close to the Reading terminal Market and good restaurants close by.
People friendly, prompt service to get my car, and all of my needs were satisfied.
The hotel we very big and clean. The room itself was amazing. We were staying there for comicon. It was really convenient that the Mariott was attached to the convention center.
I didn't like how we were treated by the staff. They acted as if it was a hassle for them to answer questions. Also, I was very upset that I had to pay $734 for my hotel only to be denied access into the convention center. We had to walk on the street and around the building just to enter comicon. The staff didn't even have a reason of why we could enter. That's a lot of money to pay for that big of an inconvenience. I saw an actor that got denied entry as well. That's not right. This tainted a lot of customers views on staying at the Mariott next year.
Accommodations and staff were very nice. Location was ideal.
Wifi access not free. Valet parking is expensive.
Plenty of room, clean
Hard mattress. Couldn't get comfortable all night.
overall a fabulous city hotel. Concierge service and check in-check out service was top quality. everyone helpful and friendly!!
Parking fee's are ridiculous and you have to pay so much for internet. It should be free for internet. Parking should be between $25-30 24 hour
Last minute booking. Comfortable room. Good area. The hotel is huge with lots of food and drink options.
Very friendly staff!!
There was no refrigerator in the room. Air conditioning was fair.
Front desk staff, concierge, bellman, security, gift shop and housekeeping staff were all excellent and accomodating from late checkout/early check-in to locating a mobile phone that had been left behind. Transportation.from airport. To.hotel.was.very convenient $8/one way.from train to hotel (access from market street station). Never having to go outside. Will always consider Marriott philadelphia convention center first when visiting philadelphia
Service in hotel bar was not a good experience. Poor service, I was ignored/overlooked by three bartenders when there were only 7 customers in the bar. I do not know the reason, perhaps because I was a single female??? I didnt order beer but a premium liquor $4 vs $18...again-i was ignored and this is why I am perturbed. And when I received by bev. It was very expensive..although the bartender, when it was brought to his atttention by staff, was so kind to try and make up for my displeasure. I will go elsewhere for cocktails on my return. This was my Only negative experience from my visit to philadelphia and with the Marriott
Location is excellent. Big rooms and good bathroom. Hotel has lots of facilities such as indoor ATM and bars. Free wifi in the lobby. Close to tourist attractions. Lots of nice restaurants in the direct area.
No free wifi in the room.
