location, the room
the shower in the room,
I like the view in the hotel
the wifi and the price
No drinks in fridge
I like the staff was very friendly and went over and beyond.
The room was much smaller than expected and my view of timesquare was really not that good could have gone without and pay less.
Location could not have been better
Location is the best, rooms were nice and spacious, staff were nice and helpful
There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel. I would stay again if I return to New York
For the cost of the stay and then charge $18 a day for wi-fi is disgusting.
The location was excellent, front desk and porters really helpful and the food in the view was excellent
We were on honeymoon and they gave us a twin room, bar staff not very attentive after waiting 10 minutes to be served we gave up. There was no hot water whatsoever from 9am to 9pm with little warning.
There is no fridge in the room
Location excellent for food and shows.
Particularly the location and the attentive service Not having to wait ages for the lift in a hotel this size
To have to pay anything for Wi Fi, let alone $16.95 per day is a disgrace.
Most theaters are right downstairs. Very touristy, but 1-2 short blocks to Hell's Kitchen restaurant row. Across the street from hotel is excellent pizza and breakfast cafe (breakfast options were bad inside hotel). Didn't mind construction at all. We didn't pay extra for a view room, however we ended up in 35th floor, with a side view of Times Square. We thought it was great and glad we didn't upgrade. The room was very spacious as well. Subway was nearby, but it wasn't far to walk to central park, 5th ave, etc. We were with teenagers and they loved the energy. Super safe area, NYPD are very friendly, and no bedbugs. I would stay there again.
Biggest complaint was no late night restaurants in hotel (juniors across the street isn't bad), breakfast was aweful (go across street to cafe), and elevators are highly inefficient (worst is 10mins after Broadway shows get out).
The location...,is perfect for so many fun things to do...you can walk to so many places... friendly staff, good food, very clean & Quiet.
Very pricey...Nearly, $700 a night after taxes for a Room with a KING Bed and Couch.. Good size, NOT a suite, It's the LOCATION...you are paying for...which was fine for us. .Except they charge you for WIFI TOO??
The construction at the street level is a major inconvenience. We were at the same hotel in March and there has been no progress in the renovation of the ground level and the whole immediate area of Times Square.
Location safety housekeeping
Very unfriendly unprofessional staff. Elevators are not enough. We waited up to 30 min to get to the room. Receptionist are irritating and rude
Lack of cleanliness. Worn out furniture everywhere
No pool, no service when you enter The marriott on 1 floor. Lobby is on 8. No one taking your luggage.
Location Liked Breakfast included Liked Size of Room Liked that room was ready before check in time
Service at Concierge, didn't find them that helpful or overly friendly Think that wifi should be included for members Felt that when you took the city tour that they should explain that you need to exchange your tickets for the site you go to. It would have been nice to already have tickets so you don't have to wait in line again or when you get a VIP for hop on or hop off that it gets you to front of ticket line for sites.
We stayed here many years ago and just love the location. Our room had a fantastic view of Times Square. Staff was very friendly
We upgraded our room upon arrival per the suggestion of the front desk. We were given a room on the 26 the floor with a view of Times Square which was great but we were also told for the 100.00 upgrade we would get free WiFi. We were never able to access the wifi during our stay which was a little disappointing.
We loved the beds. They were undoubtedly the most comfortable we have ever had and we use a lot of hotels, mostly in Europe. Melba kept our room beautifully clean. We were going to theatres so access was quick and easy by foot.
That coffee in the room.
rooms are big, beds are comfy and the breackfast was fantastic
prices in general are high
Right in the center of Time Square Beautiful hotel Comfortable quiet room with great view
Construction hiding the entire front of the hotel making finding it difficult Too large a hotel, almost no staff (other than the receptionists) in sight Confusing elevators, lobby location (8th floor? What happened to the 1st?) No mini-fridge in the room
Loved that the room was modern, clean and looked as if it had been remodeled recently. I hate old, smelly rooms and I have stayed in some of Marriotts rooms across the country that were not as nice or big as this one. Kudos to Marriott Marquis!
The elevators......can get so crowded............the smoking area right outside of the hotel whether you are going left or right....I hate cigarette smoke anywhere. It should me moved away from the entrance/exit areas so non-smokers do not have to smell every time you leave and return.
Housekeeping are lousy in attitude. They also bang the door as if there was a fire every day early morning (arround 8:15-8:30) wanting to clean the room.
Great location, great beds and pillows. concierge very helpful and friendly, sound proofing from outside and inside the hotel was excellent.
The lift system was different and were left waiting for long periods sometimes trying to get down to the street level.
