Location was great and staff very pleasant
Reservation system crashed thus 3 hour wait to check in! Staff was good telling everyone waiting what the problem was but offered no solutions. Manual name taking with proof of reservations could have worked
Nice room - even though very small, good location, adjoining restaurant (pod@pod) was excellent.
Very noisy - metal doors on the rooms and shared bathrooms slammed all night echoing in the hallway. Very hot - the air conditioner was loud and blocked by the desk - so it was useless. These are two issues that the management could remedy and would really improve the hotel.
I like nothing of this hotel
The worst hotel I've ever seen in my life. The room was horrible. The bed for one person and not for a couple. It was against the wall, so one person must go over the other. The space was smaller than a monk's room. The individuals at the reception rude and not friendly at all. An hotel I will cancel from my list and I hope from my memories.
Traveling for business so I booked room with private bath. As long as you understand space constraints, this is a great value. Loved the location.
The rooms was very very small. The beds was to small for two people and very hard. The tv sucked it's was so small I watched movies on my iPhone. The price for such a small and poor room is ridiculous and we will not be back.
Loved the outdoor patio and rooftop deck!
Location.....close to my daughter.
The location and the French restaurant right next door.
The slamming of doors all night, maids vacuuming and slamming doors early in the morning, rude lady at the coffee bar, SMALL room and bathroom, hard, uncomfortable beds.
Small rooms. No toilets in the room
Location was good. The hotel offered free printing service and WiFi. Metro is approximately 5 mins Way by foot.
Rooms were too small and had no noise cancelation.
place was very clean, even the shared bathroom was always clean and spotless. Nice lounge with internet facility (plus a printer to print your boarding pass, if needed).
Street side rooms are quite noisy during night and early morning so not good for sleeping. The Wi Fi wasn't reliable in the room.
Hotel close toneverything
It was in a good location near to subway station both to center and to Queens. After watching a musical on Broadway, I could safely walk to this hotel taking about 30 minutes.
Ventilation noises. Though the windows closed tight, I heard relatively loud ventilation noise (probably from outside) throughout days and nights.
I booked at the Pod to celebrate my daughter's 30 birthday. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed more. We laughed when we first saw our bunk bed room but actually, once we settled in, it was fantastic. More than enough room for all our luggage and not tripping over one another. The sink had a mirror, blow dryer, towels and amenities. There were 4 bathrooms just down the hall and were always clean and never had to wait for one to be available. The bar was awesome! Staff were very helpful and helped us set up our Hop On Hop Off bus tour and our shuttle back to Newark the next day. I would definately stay at Pod 51 again.
Beds are way too small. If you are aroun 6 foot you will have some trouble.
Very kind staff and very clean!
The Wifi was really Terrible! However, my last night, they upgraded the Wifi Network and that was really good in my room, so this shouldn't be an issue anymore...
Great location, 2 blocks from subway which takes you all the way downtown. An easy 15/20 min stroll to Times Square. Was expecting a basic backpackers type of place but was pleasantly surprised that it has all the amenities of a hotel. Stayed in a single room with shared bathroom...room is small but comfortable and has its own basin and mirror. Room has little lights to say when the bathrooms are occupied, so no walking down the corridor only to find they are being used. Good restaurant and bar downstairs.
Bathrooms were always open, rooftop terrace had a beautiful view. The restaurant was the happening place. We will definitely be back.
was noisy in the am with the garbage trucks.
Comfort, location, modern infrastructure
Music constantly being played over speakers. Even in the shower/bathroom/elevators. Why? Not necessary. Doors that slam shut too loudly. Need to remind some guests to be quiet when returning late, some people have gone to bed. Also, should have some Euro/Canadian TV channels on the tv given large number of non-US guests. Pod 39 had France 24 on TV. Also TV in single rooms in an awkward position for watching.
Location is super and the rooftop terrace absolutely great.
The room and facilities are extremely small and uncomfortable in use. You have to climb over each other to get in bed. And it's very noisy inside and outside the hotel. It gets warm in the room very quickly and the AC blows out very cold air so there's no 'in between' temperature to gain.
The location was good, only a short walk from the subway and a 10 minute walk from Rockefeller Centre. The shared bathrooms were clean and the indicator above the bedroom door was very handy. I never had to wait in line. The room was basic, which I expected. Good for me as a short person bit a tall person might have an issue with the bed. Wifi worked well.
The air conditioner was very noisy and the nights I stayed were quite warm. Air con made it hard to sleep at night. No breakfast included, which is disappointing given the price of the room.
It was modern, the small room was simple but well appointed and thought out as to make the most of the space available. The bed was comfortable, WiFi fast, the A/C not too noisy.
As I exited the elevator, I realize I staid in this hotel before, on my very first trip to N.Y. It could have been 1981 or so and then the place then was a real dump!
Great location. Very close to the 6, E & M lines. Hotel is very modern, clean, and surprisingly spacious. Great Rooftop deck with drinks, a cozy atmosphere.
My only complaint was the staff, every interaction I had seemed like an annoyance. The staff member who checked me out of the hotel was very nice.
Good staff and good location clean and affordable in compare with other hotels
The room was too small
