The elevator was a little shady and the room was like a dorm room with a window to no where.
The location of the hotel awesome and the 24hour restaurant beside it was very handy, with great food and vibe.

Everything very good but the elevator so bad difficult open it with bags
I like it so much also the stuff in hotel so so kindly :)

Room service missed a couple tiny things while cleaning, small leak in shower, nothing major, nothing to worry about
Very nice antique hotel, vintage elevator, great views, wonderful staff. Next street over from all the action, about a half minute walk to all the restaurants and shopping. Older large rooms with very nice furniture.

Very old rooms, need refraction.

Absolutely no main hotel facilities other than usual basic room facilities
Very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff; 5th avenue just around the corner; shuttle service.

(a) No restaurant or bar. When I booked there was no indication that these would be closed, and when I amended my reservation to 5 days, my attention was not specifically drawn to the fact that these facilities were absent. (b) on one day my room was not made up at all. (c) on my last day, after I had checked out, I wanted to use the Rest Rooms, and was annoyed that there was none on the lobby level, and that I had to go to the 10th Floor. They did not trouble to tell me that I needed a card for entry, so I had to go back down then up to the 10th floor for a second time. (d) The lifts are antiquated and the doors very difficult to open, particularly when handling luggage.

The floor we were on 2nd floor was facing the street to much noise around 2 am when bars were closing woke us up loud people
The Valet was really nice and helpful

Location, roof area. Old fashioned hotel suites us for 2 nights. Close to everything.

I lost my cell phone and the staff were terrific about looking for it (it was found at the airport). I really appreciated the enthusiasm of the person at the front desk in his willingness to help me.

Very small room. Very dark. No scenic views.
April 23, 2015
Before I checked in I needed to use the restroom after a long drive. They had to make a key card and it was on the 10th floor. The elevator is extremely slow and small with a self-closing door and gate to operate which is really hard with luggage. For the money I paid, I was really disappointed. Have already booked another hotel at a higher price for my next trip. The shower was so small I could hardly turn around in it and it ran out of hot water.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, convenient to restaurants and bars. Really nice downtown area.

Bed was uncomfortable and their restaurant that was attached to the hotel was being renovated.
Location was great
April 14, 2015
The security guard was unacceptable. We watched him harass couples trying to re-enter the hotel with one key, walk around like it was a boot camp and had a horrible attitude. He would be the only reason I would not return. I believe the front desk said his name was Enrique. I will make sure he is not working the next time I plan on staying.
I loved the old charm of this hotel! The staff (minus the security guard) was amazing!! The beds were comfortable and the roof top view amaze balls!

Elevators were scary but an experience
The roof access and rooftop view was breathtaking
April 5, 2015
I despise companies that by up these old downtown hotels, do as few upgrades as possible and then shoehorn guests into pint-sized quarters at a premium price. Look elsewhere for comfort.
Great location with lots of restaurants.
April 4, 2015
Elevators are kind of cool but inadequate for number of users. Neighborhood is overrun with vagrant panhandlers.
Convenient location. Nice views from rooftop deck.
April 2, 2015
It is an older hotel so some of the conveniences are a little dated, but worked just fine.
Great atmosphere, excellent staff- can't say enough, dated but very comfortable room. It was one of the less expensive but value was as great or greater than fancier hotels.

Awesome location for going out with friends. Good value for gaslamp.
March 19, 2015
The location and the roof top was excellent. The bed was very comfortable. Some of the staff was more friendly than others.

I don't like being hit with $20 parking fee upon checking in. You should add it to room rates so customers see that cost when booking.
It was handy to the Gaslamp area. Also view from top was good.
