this place is a sleeping gem
Nice quiet room, great breakfast.
Loved the structure. Some work redoing it would work wonders. Breakfast was great.
clean, comfortable, breakfast
outside door did not lock
I liked the spacious Southwest Style of the room. It was restful.
The first room I was given did not match the internet ad. It had low cielings with limited lighting. The room felt like a dark hole. The staff placed me in a lovely room.
Great room, staff, and real sit-down breakfast. Grounds are well kept. Love the historic value and art.
The historic beauty and interest.
Distance and difficult walking from room to lobby and restaurants.
It wasn't very clean
Lighting was too dim in room
Free sit down breakfast.
The Wi-Fi isn't the best. You have to be in the main lobby to get a connection. The cleanliness of the hotel is not the best. Seems old a musty.
Comfortable beds and pillows, breakfasts were very good, quiet in room. Good air conditioning.
Shower faucet wasn't great for water flow. Make sure your bill matches what the reservation confirmation states. We were overcharged but they were quick to correct it.
staff excellent, included breakfast very good.
rooms old, dated. pool not operational. Attached dining room restaurant food quality poor. Service excellent.
Staff was good, friendly. Location was ok but a bit far from the cultural center of Taos.
Room smelled of "carpet fresh" floors were not clean, esp. in the corners and along funiture lines. Wall socket not secure in the room, bathroom tile not clean and rough along some edges. Room was "dark".
Traditional, old time adobe hotel with extensive grounds. Taos as it used to be. Also a hot spot on the weekends with live music. Breakfast included and it's great.
Rooms need upgrading. The annex, a former Comfort Inn, is standard motel plastic. Very little southwestern charm. For atmosphere request the older rooms but they too need upgrading. Supposedly, it will happen under new ownership. Still, would stay there again.
Location, breakfast, friendly staff
The room was spacious and very clean. The staff were all so friendly and efficient and the breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Loved the look and feel of the building. Will stay there again in the near future.
Room was not very clean.
Staff was wonderful. Dinner very nice, and live music and dancing was a welcome surprise. Beds were comfortable and rooms clean.
Rooms were comfortable, although a carpet change seems to be in order and some updating in rooms. Pillows were very small and not great.
Nice, clean place with friendly staff. Breakfast was a plus. The pool closest to us was not working but they had another one. Hot Tub was nice. All in all a good place to stay.
King bed suite has no ability to turn on the bathroom light without brightening up the whole room.
The breakfast was great! It was a complimentary sit-down breakfast (eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast, OJ and coffee!). The rooms are really attractive - and the architecture is great. They had live music in the bar/lobby when we were there. It's a good location and easy to get to. Parking was good as well.
The staff is not knowledgeable or helpful. Somehow I was booked (and charged) for 4 rooms when I only ordered 2 - and the front desk girl argued with us about my reservation even though I had it printed out and right there. She finally gave us the room - when we got there no one had cleaned it yet. We called and room service came right away to clean it. Our friends stayed in another room there and they had mouse poop on their clothes when they woke up.
I especially liked the open feeling of the grounds and architecture. The free breakfast, served swiftly by wait staff with a choice of hot meals, was very enjoyable. I was grateful to be able to turn the heat on to low and take the chill off my room on a cool August night.
I was disappointed that I couldn't get a snack when I arrived at 10 pm even though the band was still playing.
Restaurant on premises was good.
Shower went from hot to cold to hot continuosly. Description said balcony. It amounted to a walkway with a Rubbermaid chair in front of our room. Our ceiling creaked loudly every time someone upstairs walked around. Pillows were awful, three small foam rubber pillows for a king bed. Wifi was unreliable.
-Not many hotel options in Taos, this is one of the better -Free breakfast -Good location -Friendly staff
-Room smelled a bit like "old hotel" -Was not told about the additional $50 tax I would have to pay when I checked out.
staff told me they had no downstairs rooms available. then later told me there were rooms downstairs. i would have paid more for downstairs if she had not lied about it.
