Liked everything about the hotel. The staff, the room, the location, the hotel itself and especially the view!
every thing from the welcoming staff to greet you as you arrived to leavibng the hotel, a great stay.
Our first time in NYC did not disappoint. Bed most compfortable bed ever! Great rooms. Staff lovely. Great location. Must try to pastrami on rye at Katz around the corner. Great Mexican bar around the corner and hair of dog pub is fun, loud and cheap bar deals. Other fun bars, not really as trendy as we thought / had heard but that's not a bad thing. More young, fun and cheesy. We walked around everywhere from hotel during the day. Took a while but great to walk around NYC. Didn't want to leave.
Is quite expensive hotel. Would of expected cooked breakfast and wifi to be included in price. We can just about overlook this because rooms, staff and location is great.
The hotel has a nice structure. The rooms are very neat, clean and their modern vibe gave a sense of class. I loved the sushi bar upstairs. Everything about this hotel lived up to my expectation.
The only thing I hoped for was a bathtub since I booked a king deluxe.
Location Customer Service Comfort
Mind-blowing view, stylish decor, great location & as always SIXTY staff were attentive, knowledgeable & very friendly.
WiFi was $15 per day, which we didn't bother with as we had roaming anyway.
Nothing offered to apologise for a false fire alarm ringing at 2am
-great panoramic city view even on lower floors -non touristy location but next to everything -windows which open !!!! -balcony -modern vibe and decor (concrete ceilings etc) -superbly attentive and knowledgeable staff -Konditori and Katz's Deli 5 steps away
having to leave
We stayed in one of the corner rooms facing south on the 17th floor. 2 out of the 4 walls are pretty much made of glass (windows). The room provides amazing views of NY skyline (if you get the one facing the south side). Amazing. The hotel staff was generally very helpful and kind, with the exception of the reception staff. Bell Staff / Doormen / cleaning crew > very happy with the team. Always ready to assist, on time. Kind, warm, welcoming.
Room on the small side. Reception staff seemed careless. They see right through you. Just another annoying guest checking out, etc.. This is what I felt anyway. Internet in the room - doesn't matter how the hotel management justifies this, paying for a BASIC amenity like internet these days is ridiculous. Especially for travellers who require internet for travel research, stay in touch, etc. I found this ridiculous. We paid a lot of money for a 4 star service, I would expect not having to pay for BASIC stuff like water or internet. We stay in hotels all the time (truly: all the time). I never had to pay for water in my room or internet. Again, you can see this however you want, and justify it however you want, but this is ridiculous. I was told "this is how all the hotels do it in NYC". This seems pretty irrelevant to everyone who is not from NY (I would guess the majority of the guests). Oh, and the internet in the lobby is a joke. Room service / dinner - food was very bland and small quantity for the price. Would not recommend anyone to have food from the hotel. Very unsatisfying.
The staff are friendly, the location is great very cool area and good access to the venue. The rooms are a good size. We came for our honeymoon and we loved every minute of it. Get it booked!
The rooms are not sound proof. You can hear what the room above and next door are saying and doing. Awkward
Location Room layout and design Bed Shower Hotel Bar
I know staying in New York is expensive but for this rate and hotel category I expect more of the little things that makes the difference to a mid-range hotel. E. g. fast WiFi access in the room for free, slippers, a bottle of water per day, etc.
The staff was attentive and personable. Friendly and knowledgeable. Love the style and art deco of the hotel. Room was a good size for New York.
Bed is low to the floor but still comfortable. Part of tye new wave style.
View was great Comfy Pillows Kind and helpful staff Quiet Cozy and romantic
Shower leaked Fan in bathroom broken Not as clean as hoped All glasses not replaced daily Dusty surfaces Hard bed Unclear where to go for coffee and breakfast Elevators were open to the public Friday night
Bellboy and cleaning personnel did a fantastic job. Design of the hotel was cool, location great, consigliere great and area perfect.
At arrival there was a card welcoming us together with a bottle of water and a box of chocolate (it was my birthday) - thought it was a gift, but charged 40 dollars upon departure. One of the girls in the front desk was not very friendly - tried to greet and ask her question, but she just looked at us and "rolled" her eyes. Not once, but every time she was there.
Genuinely helpful staff rather than that horrible plastic niceness that sometimes passes for customer service. Location Local coffee bar a few doors down with great bagels
Paying for WiFi in this and age?!
No free wifi is not acceptable for 2014 and a hotel in that range
Bathroom Not properly stocked with toiletries and towels! Getting a late checkout was charged 50$ a hr. Did not check in till 8 at night. Cost 600. Come on !
The location is awesome. Room decor was nice.
The main reason we picked this hotel was the rooftop view. Our trip was toward the end of September. We were even greeted with a note inviting us to check out the rooftop. When asked, we were answered with a shrug. "Yah, I think it's closed." We had fun in the area, but the room/hotel was not worth the money. The staff is fine... I just wasn't impressed at all for $300+ a night. I really wish it were different, because we loved the neighborhood. Get rid of the rugs with no grip on the slick floors. It's like stepping on a piece of ice. No fridge. No access to ice machine. You have to request ice from room service. It took over an hour for the ice to show up.
The location of this hotel is brilliant, the Lower East Side is really on the up, and you can walk to KATZ, but not too often. The reception staff were briliant, especially the English conceirge. Easy to get around from, couple of subways nearby. One street away Stanton Street is great for bars, try the cocktails at the Derby!
hotels this good don't need to charge $15 to use the internet !
The rooms were fantastic. Modern, great decor. Larger room sizes. Staff very friendly. Location is superb. The subway line across the street.
The beds were hard. Not comfy.
Loved it, staff great, walking distance to SOHO, China Town, Bleeker Street, Little Italy. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend for New York fans who don't want to stay at Times Square.
The staff was great, and so was the location. The East Village and Chinatown are within easy walking distance.
Illumination in the room made it difficult to read at night. And the minibar is a bit pretentious and over-priced.
