Ambiance, lounge and bar, decor, service, attitude, helpfulness of staff, neighborhood. My favorite place to stay in NY.
Nothing! Well, maybe I don't need the bear, but I still kind of liked him.
Feels like home, but better. I've reached hugs status with the staff at this point. I'll be back soon!
nice style, looks old but everything is new and all works fine. hotel guests enjoy preferred treatment for seating in the lobby as wellmas the restaurant. we are likely to come back.
it can be cool and "windy" in the lobby lounge.
Bar & lounge area Free hi quality wi-fi Excellent location
Lack of storage space in room
The room was adequate in size but very cost! Awesome bed very comfortable and the shower I could stay in for hours! The hotel staff was extremely friendly. Room service delivered promptly!
Nothing I didn't like!
Enjoyed the location as it was convenient to midtown without the traffic and hoards of people.
The staff were incredible Atmosphere, ambience, comfort, absolutely top rate!!
a warm and relaxing atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff.
Service excellent, thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Green space outside our window littered with plastic pots. If the Bowery owns it is a shame it is not utilized better. Workout facility needs an update.
The location was perfect since my son lives 10 min. away. Also liked the lounge area where one of the waiters was very accommodating on Halloween night! Food was good. Loved the room key! Reception staff were great! Really liked the shower. I'll be back, I'm sure.
A few more drawers in the room would have been nice. A larger ironing board. I know the rooms are small, but since I've never paid so much for a hotel room (I was paying for location, I'm sure!), the amenities seemed a bit sparse. I did like the bear though.
The Bowery Hotel is a wonderful place to stay for a vacation or stay-cation. Location is great for Soho, East Village and truly easy to get anywhere.
I love the vintage (yet fresh) atmosphere and charm. I entertained my daughter and her boyfriend in the lounge after a gala elsewhere on a cold evening. There was a blazing fire in the lounge fireplace. The furniture in the lounge is Jacobean in style and covered in velvet with fringe trim. Oriental rugs galore, even in my room. Plenty of cozy seating groups in the lounge, so you can feel relaxed AND festive. Great location for me. The huge traditional windows in the bedrooms offer good light and great views. The Teddy bear on the bed reminded me of some English hotels I have stayed in. I felt right at home with the decor. I will be returning soon for some Christmas shopping in NYC.
Everything was just right. Signed, Goldilocks
Really connected with the ambiance. Liked the key hand off so the hotel knew when you where in. Staff very accommodating. Adjacent restaurant was good, especially breakfast. Location a real plus as we saw it halfway between mid and downtown. Very easy walk to our destinations.
Elevators a little small but there are three.
location was good. Hotel is very comfortable and the restaurant etc is very good.
two of us booked for the same price, same room etc. One got a larger room and the other a tiny room overlooking a construction site with a concrete drill going all day. One changed room and the second room was lovely but again the room was considerably smaller. Best to check first! Staff were very pleasant and hepful.
My fifth time in NY and this was the best stay. Amazing location. All staff very kind and helpful. Lots of good restaurants around including Gemma (connected to the hotel).
Great location, spacious rooms, very friendly and professional staff, very trendy bar and time period drama feel lobby with a fire place busy especially during weekends great for celeb spotting. We'll definitely come back.
Though the hotel emailed and asked for our check in time (which we informed as 14:00 o'clock) our room wasn't ready till 17:00. Stayed there for two weeks and the last day we had to leave the room at 12:00 o'clock sharp although our flight was at midnight. Late checkout wasn't an option as the hotel is charging a full day if you check out at 15:00 instead of midday.
Great friendly welcoming staff and guests!
Very clean, location was excellent. Gemma's the restaurant served delicious food and the overall vibe and interior decoration was sensational. Would highly recommend.
Staff could have been more welcoming and given more useful local advice on where to eat and what to do.
Great vibe, very helpful and responsive staff, great light and attractive rooms
Wifi slow and dropped out regularly
The style The atmosphere The lobby bar
Great hotel, perfect location, amazing atmosphere.
Hot place in East Village, trendy croud, beautifully restored 1930s facilities, Oriental carpeted lobby with wood ceilings and working fireplace, beautiful details, you feel like being in Great Gatsby, lobby flooded with models and trendy crowd, service impeccable.
Overpriced and pretentious place, you never feel like a guest. Low value for your money, small rooms, small closets, the hotel is charging not for comfort and space but for attracting hot crowd. The lobby and the adjacent restaurant, called Gemma (you must speak Italian to read the menu) are not really for hotel guests but for the trendy Soho people. If you are into that sort of thing, your best bet would be staying in a nearby four star hotel with much more comfort and spending the price difference in The Bowery lobby/bar or in the Gemma restaurant.
Great place to stay for our wedding in the village. Staff and management were all welcoming and went a little extra to make sure our stay was memorable. Location is great for downtown wedding. We were able to walk to and from venues.
The Bowery Hotel is always an oasis of calm and comfort in a busy city. The hotel rooms are quiet and clean and so comfortable and the lobby area warm and welcoming - it is always a pleasure to stay there!
The Bowery hotel has something so special it cant really be put into words I adore this place because it always offers a refuge from the outside world - its like home on a very good day - a place where one can really and truly relax and take stock of the best things in life. So considered but so understated in every way ,the service is second to none !
