The staff makes you feel important. They even had reserved tables in an exclusive lounge that were just for guests staying at the hotel.
The internet was down one day.
The failed to make up our room on one day of our stay. They did not respond well to our complaint. For the money they charge I was pretty unhhappy.
Incredible service, great hip location, comfy beds, beautiful rooms. Nothing not to like here.
There was some construction under my room, but they started at 10am.
Atmosphere, decor, views, bathrooms
We were charged triple occupancy for a room for 3 teenagers but only one bed, then charged again for another bed! Not good...
Really fun and comfortable atmosphere Great 24 hour room service with lots of healthy and sinful choices too
The Bowery exudes old world charm in a very cool part of NYC. The service was excellent and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in. The turn down service at night was great - a big bottle of mineral water and home made cookies. The Corner King Room had a fabulous view of midtown Manhattan and the Empire State Building. Gemma Restaurant is fabulous for breakfast and dinner. The location was within walking distance to excellent shopping in Soho and Greenwich Village as well as fantastic restaurants. Would definitely stay here when next visiting NYC.
No tea making facilities in the room.
My stay at The Bowrey was just perfect. Service, facilities, location were all exceptional. I am generally very fussy, but there was nothing to fault. Highly recommend this hotel to enhance any stay in NYC.
Gorgeous lobby, great bar, and friendly staff! The rooms (king) were a great size for NYC. Will definitely stay there again.
Wish the bar area had more seating.
The warm lobby bar was so inviting during the cold days and nights.
This hotel is truly a luxary. It's beauty is like an old 1920s style NYC apartment, and the views are so romantic. Worth every cent.
* the vibe was so relaxed ! * the decor -- a seamless juxtaposition of modern-hip and art nouveau with a splash of gothic -- really involving decor; just super unique and cool and really sparks the imagination * the blankets were so warm, we did not even need to have the heat on! * cozy feeling room, and they brought a surprise bottle of champagne ! (not sure if this was just because it was New Year's) * linens and shampoos are first rate * the shower felt like a heavy summer rain -- it felt really unique * they have an excellent high quality restaurant that for breakfast offers nutritious and delicious green juice options * the antiques were endearing and based on quite a few choice mythological figures, including Lilith and Pan * every staff member was friendly and professional * most of the guests were from Europe and that lended another layer of posh to this super cool place * we experienced quiet and calm in the middle of New Year's Eve in NYC -- the city was packed with revelers, yet in our room, we heard not a sound! * excellent location near the Bowery Electric for music and also tons of restaurants and coffee shops nearby * easy to get to via subway * DVD player in room allowed for a nice choice as we were not that interested in going out a lot; good choices of movies including Jean Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast! * the view was amazing! * lounge areas were amazingly comfy and the fire in the fireplace was well built * when we renew our wedding vows, we will doing so here at the Bowery Hotel * an excellent place for a special, romantic getaway!
* we didn't need the heat, but when it was on at first, it was horribly loud, so I'm glad we didn't need it * wish check out could be 1 instead of noon * descriptions of the foreign films on the DVD roster
The place, the décor, the view, the staff, the Gemma restaurant, the reasonably priced room service, the gym, the wonderful with the fireplace. We loved it all.
The free Wifi is not as good as I was hoping. We could not both use the Internet at the same time for heavy use. So we had to either Skype or watch You tube for instance
I did not like that the hotel charges exorbitant phone rates almost gauging the guest for a basic service in this category of hotel. When I pay 750.00 USD per night I expect such service to be free or minimal. Reason enough never to return. EM
The ambience, the room, the comfort of the bed; the bar; the staff
I thought breakfast at Gemma's was distinctly average and the service poor (they completely messed up our order though in fairness they recognised thier mistake and didn't charge us). However, thre are lots of other good places to eat breakfast in the neighbourhood, and since breakfast isn't included in the room price there's nothing lost by venturing further afield. The neighbourhood is still just a little edgy (what is the building next door?), and the Bowery itself is full of wholesale cookery supply shops, so it isn't a great shopping district (unless you're looking to fit out an industrial kitchen). But none of these things would prevent us booking at the hotel again: indeed, We fully intend to go back next time we are in New York!
Always a warm welcome! The room was very cozy! Feels like a 2nd home to me.
This hotel is in the same spectrum as the groovy Hotel Costes in Paris, it's like belonging to a club. There are spaces reserved for hotel guests in the crowded bar and lounge, which is a major plus. Steeped in NY history, this is a well located, funky gem.
One waitress was having a bad day, but if that's all au can think of after a stay at a hotel, that's pretty dumb good.
Ambiance, lounge and bar, decor, service, attitude, helpfulness of staff, neighborhood. My favorite place to stay in NY.
Nothing! Well, maybe I don't need the bear, but I still kind of liked him.
Feels like home, but better. I've reached hugs status with the staff at this point. I'll be back soon!
nice style, looks old but everything is new and all works fine. hotel guests enjoy preferred treatment for seating in the lobby as wellmas the restaurant. we are likely to come back.
it can be cool and "windy" in the lobby lounge.
Bar & lounge area Free hi quality wi-fi Excellent location
Lack of storage space in room
The room was adequate in size but very cost! Awesome bed very comfortable and the shower I could stay in for hours! The hotel staff was extremely friendly. Room service delivered promptly!
Nothing I didn't like!
Enjoyed the location as it was convenient to midtown without the traffic and hoards of people.
The staff were incredible Atmosphere, ambience, comfort, absolutely top rate!!
